Hi Paul. Love that vice, will keep my eyes peeled for one of those. You won't regret getting the retort stand clamp, best set of extra hands ever! Great idea to use a surface gauge base for the stand. I have now used the new motor on the mill in anger and it works fine, plenty of power for it's size. It should power both of your small drill presses with ease. Oh, thanks for the shout out. Cheers, Alan.

Hi Paul, good to see you in your workshop again, and well done for those 200k views👏👏
I think everyone whose commented so far liked the look of that vise, me too!!
Be interesting to see how you get on scraping that surface table, it looks good as it is. It did remind me of assisting in the calibration of a surface table just over the railway in the Broad Oak Works. We took a load of measurements and then balanced them to get a single plane to see if it was in spec ...... It looked suspiciously like cheating to me!!
We were in Portsmouth last weekend for all too short a visit but it was great to see most of the family and to meet Colby, the newest member only three weeks old!!
You've got lots of projects there and that bike hanging up in the background as well. Take it easy, look forward to seeing how you do your future videos.

Very good hotchpotch ! I always enjoy seeing what new tools etc you've found.
Regarding that saw table for the Myford . . . If my memory is correct, I think Mr Wilding mentioned in his book, using one to cut out the Triangular parts for the Congreve table, so could well prove useful, as I'm sure you realise.
When I cut mine, I hoped to be able to do them on the milling machine, for accuracy, but the X travel was not quite long enough.
I resorted to a jigsaw (hardly the most accurate tool in the w/shop), followed by lots and lots of filing, the results are somewhat amateurish. Yet to build the table up, so not sure if they will be good enough yet.
    All the best.
