It's a big win for the Phillipines. They apparently have not beaten any European team since the 1960s. In addition latvia is a high ranking powerhouse team at number 6 in the world while the Phillipines is at number 37 worldwide. And they played so well against a strong team like that. Perhaps a new approach in coaching could have something to do with it. Latvias new italian coach also is thought to have changed things for better

The coach during WC is a huge disaster That is why we lost big time during wc.
Well all Filipino fans knows the answer. It was the previous coach Reyes. If only he give way last WC we have better chance to qualify in Olympic last WC. A coach who lack mentally to win and no game plan an ISO coach who rely on star player like Jordan Clarkson.
Philippine team has always been great.. It's just that the previous coach was incompetent not having a system and got favouritism with his players. The new coach just exposed what this philippine team is really capable of.
Philippines team are already strong and talented, but they got a wrong coach, politics, crab-mentality and poor mindset to win, when the Philippines started to change the coach and playing style, no doubted philippines could win every matches even powerhouse team such as europe, south and north American, and africa.
