Follow up video to my demo / comparison between two 'Acoustic' amps. This time looking at their Jazz sounds.
www.buymeacoffee.com/guitartutor
I'm using a Shure SM57 Mic and then, later, the Direct Out from each amp.
Guitar is a Gibson ES335 (1987)
1. Henriksen Blu
2. AER Compact 60
Note: the distortion at around 5:48 onwards is just from the recorded sound overloading on Garageband (sorry!). There was no distortion 'in the room'. The same effect at 7:27 is partly from the actual amps. Развлечения
That AER sounds good!
thanks.. I have a 335 type and looking ... AER at the end test really thinned out.. thanks pat
Really Great Job Man ❤
Cheers
Aer 👌
thanks again ... this helped much 6 it is
Good to hear.
AER
Gosh, in both videos those both sound good. . . have you ever run both at the same time through an A/B y type thing to combine the sounds?
No, unfortunately I didn’t keep both so just have the Henriksen now.
@@onlineguitarteacher Thank you. I am looking at Henriksen, Acus, Udo, AER.... or a mixture of some for low volume high quality sound reinforcement on a pickup on archtop, mic on archtop, and mic on vocal, if not adding in some percussion
@@TheVigilantStewards Good luck with the search. I did a comparison between an Acus and the AER which may be worth a look. ruclips.net/video/j7w7rqa0bW8/видео.html
AER ,
+1 on AER
I have the AER compact 60/4. Fantastic amp but a little lacking in bottom end. Just bought a bud 10. Will be interesting to see how they compare.
so how do they compare? which do you prefer? i am on the fence between those two :)
@@ekredel I actually hated the BUD10. It sounded ok with electric guitar but I could not get a decent sound with an acoustic. It was just very harsh. I sold it a few weeks after I’d bought it and bought the AER Domino 3, which is the most amazing amp I’ve ever played through. Sounds very like the compact 60/4 but with more low end.
Everything sounds good through the Domino. Electric, acoustic and even keys.
I prefer the Henriksen but both are good amps.
@@onlineguitarteacher the Bud amps suck for acoustic guitar. I tried both the Bud 6 and Bud 10. I really wanted to love them but Could not get a sound I liked. Sold them both and bought the AER Domino. That’s the holy grail I’d been looking for. Most amazing amp I’ve ever played.
Great comparison and capture of differences. I had the AER Compact 60 and Henriksen Bud at the same time. The AER is tuned to sound a little more different/open/full range and just sounds perfect with a flattop and under saddle pickup or similar but can be a bit too much or less flattering on a traditional guitar pickup (though it depends what you like). The Bud for me was better with guitar pickups (warm/round and had that nice phat midrange and no harsh top) but didn’t have the magic frequency/resonance of the AER on flattop (unless you are doing a rootsy focused thing - whatever that means). Both!
Yes, I quite agree!
Good comparison. What string type and gauge did you use here?
Thanks. D’Addario NYXL 10-46
Which one of the amps is the best and vocal?
I don't sing so I'm not sure - sorry!
Can we say………REVERB
My 60 Roland Cube sounds much better.
I haven't heard one - will have to check them out. Thanks
AER
