Comparison between two excellent acoustic guitar amplifiers:
    1. Henriksen BLU
    2. AER Compact 60
I'm using a Shure SM57 Mic and then, later, the Direct Out from each amp.
Guitar is a Gibson HP665 Electro Acoustic.

To my ears, the AER's larger speaker is very apparent. Henriksen now has 8" and 10" available.

Both amplifiers sound fine, but you’re at the liberty of the pickup system in the guitar being played. Perhaps a dual source pickup system would have a different result. Thank you for the comparison review.

    Goodmorning-
Almost pulled the trigger on the AER 60-4 AMP. My question is if it’s possible to connect and guitar and microphone for vocals and listen to it all using a headset? This to not disturb other people or neighbors. Also a perfect way of listening to my mistakes since an amplifier is unforgiving!
I realy hope this is possible.
Now if one day I want to video myself with everything plugged in- what type (!) of mic do you recommend in front of the AER speaker for recording ditectly.
    Thanks again
    Jsper

Sorry for the late reply - only just seen this. I don't have the AER here any more but I think they do have a headphone socket, so you could listen to everything without disturbing anyone else. I'm not an expert on mics but a recommendation would depend on your budget. Maybe an SM57?

This was a really good review. My conclusion is that they are both really good amps and in a live setting it would be very difficult to tell the difference. I really appreciate that you tried the Hendriksen with an acoustic; they seem to promote it as a Jazz amp for use with electric arch tops.

Thanks. I've actually made some other demos using a Gibson 335 too - they'll be uploaded soon.

I have the Blu. I originally bought it to go with my gibson semi-hallow. But I now play through the Blu mostly with my Collings OM2H equipped with a K&K pure mini and red-eye preamp. Sounds much better than my fishman artist amp.

I would say the Blu is louder but not by a lot. Both are perfectly 'giggable'.

AER sounds cleaner even better for jazz imo not to mention classical guitars

When you make the adjustment you don’t tell us what you’re doing

Yes, sorry. I didn't think it was necessary as I was just altering EQ to try to get similar sounds out of the amps, for an overall comparison.
