I’m 59 single female , I have lived in HUD since 2012 . The Apt . Is a 1 bed . The problem is too much time and also health and other issues contributed to me not being able to just apply for a Habitat Home . It was discussed in the 90’s and at that time , I worked yet nobody really wanted to be bothered. Who didn’t or doesn’t want better . Only to be robbed of a lot of things by the system to prevent one from this . Now I really can’t trust . I said it back then . Living on a fixed income . Not happening, if it were that easy everyone would be out of Public Housing etc. I don’t want a roommate . It’s a very tricky program that I threw the towel in decades ago . I don’t know how else to put it . The Homeless , Boarder issues , drugs , crime , a lot of factors . Mental Health , Health Care. Know your rights. Consent to this , consent to that . You understand.

Do you have to have kids to qualify and is there an age limit or work hours limit or what are the limitations
Hi quick question. I recently applied for habitat and I'm waiting to hear a response. I know credit score has to be at least a 640 but with two out of three credit bureaus my score is 708 but one of them (TransUnion) it's only 580 will I be denied or will they work with me?

Approximately how many people does Habitat build for each year?
Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity builds 1 to 4 homes per year in Hampshire and Franklin Counties. There are 100s of Habitat for Humanity affiliates across the united states.

Is there a certain age you cannot apply for a habitat hm

will student loans ex me out? My student loans are in forbearance.
It depends! When looking at the debt to income ratio of people in forbearance we currently use .5% of the total loan value as an estimate of a monthly payment. We would need to have your income and your loan amount from your application to review. Income based repayment plans may be treated differently.
My orientation is at the end of this month . Is there anything I should prepare for . Credit ? Where should it be at ?
Congratulations! While it does vary by State, your credit score does matter. I do suggest having Habitat run your report for you so that they will see your score immediately. Also, you and any resident need to have a social security card. Hope that helps!
Working with a HUD approved credit counselor is highly recommended.
How many applicants will be selected?
That is my question as well.
Hello! It depends on the project and how many houses we will be building. We only open the application process when we know we have a house ready to build.
