Outstanding. At 4:50 using 1 5/8 fence post into the ground to add height AND secure hoop to the earth...I was coming to the same conclusion. You just saved me some trial and error. Thanks!
Way cheaper than buying a greenhouse kit. Thanks for the post. If you build a greenhouse the polycarbonate corrugated panels are way too expensive but layered clear plastic is significantly more affordable.
If you happen to live in an area that gets a significant snowfall in winter, I suggest doing what I did. It WORKS GREAT. I used 50" x 16' Cattle Panel and covered that top of the frame with THAT, then put on the plastic. We had 2 different snow DUMPS of 3 feet up here in Montana, and the plastic held up perfectly. If you live in an area that does NOT get too much snow, then you probably don't need to add the cattle panels, but it SAVED my 8 x 12 hoophouse from the same fate as many up here faced...........total collapse of their plastic covers. It also gives you TONS of places to hang plants, tools, and other items to keep your bench space clear.
I purchased one of your large pipe benders. You stated in this video that it will bend up to 24'. How do you do this as this...24'.... is what I need? Thanks.
I want to build one of these on top of my dump trailer for leaf cleanups. The width is 83 inches I’d like to get the height to about 6 or 7 ft. Then cover the arc with a mesh tarp. The metal arc would attach to a wood base of 2 ft by 12 by 16 ft Any ideas on how I would do this would help.
I think I would use straight pipe with brackets and not bend it. 83 inches is too much bend. I would mount pipe on the trailer for the height you want and then connect both sides with a straight pipe.
@@HallsomeFarm I have a 16 ft big Tex dump trailer . 14LP is the model number. I want to mount pipe to the extended wood sides that are 2ft high. Then put a mesh tarp over the pipe that arches over rather than build up the wood which adds tok much weight.
Here in New Zealand I can buy 21" length pipes. Would it be better to just bend one pipe like this or buy them in 10-foot lengths and join two at a time?
Hey I was wondering if you think the green house will still be sturdy if I add a center 6’ of straight to give me a 18’ wide green house ? I can’t go up to a 20’ arch because I have a height issue. Thank you
To make a bigger greenhouse you need to buy the right bender. 2 pipes bent to make a 12’ wide gh. 2 &1/2 pipes for a 16’ gh, and 4 pipes for a 24’ gh, but each has a different bender.
I love your video. Thanks for sharing. I live in GA and will have to find a source for the pipes. What would a 12x16 cost and how is the plastic attached to the frame.
Here is a video for attaching the poly cover ruclips.net/video/yh6AYdiSs1g/видео.html You can buy the pipe at lowes or home depot they cost a bit more but they have everything you need. I also have videos on how to build a greenhouse. There is a link in the notes area for a pipe binder. Excellent technical information! Give some more information on pipe size like pipe length to get hoops of 12 ft,24 ft and so on and more close up views!!! Great information!!!
Suppose I want to do 16'wide. Can I just add a 6' piece of the 2 3/8" post between the two 12' diameter halves? Or, if I decide to just use taller 2 3/8" posts for the 16' bend, what is the difference when using the bender to bend 6' arcs vs 8' arcs?
I have different benders for size, but I suppose you could add half a link, bty it 13/8 pipe top rail of chain link fencing. The 15/8 pipe for the side walls I would make at least 4 to 5 foot tall and stretch the 13/8 rib into wall pipe.
@@HallsomeFarm yes 1 3/8. I have some 1 5/8 post. I'm going to bend the top rail as normal to make the arc for the 12' hoop and try the spacer. Worst case I waste $10. Thanks for the response. It's a big help to the noob. :)

Not sure the gauge excellent question but I can tell you it is top rail chain link fence pipe. 10'6" for the bend pipe and I buy 24' for the purline. In the note I have a link for a pipe bender they are $49 makes it worth it to bind your own.

A bender is the best way to go, in bending any pipe extend 6” past the pipe band, in case of the 4’ emt bend after making the first bend take the pipe out turn it around and bend the second half just like the first, comes out perfect every time. So far my agribon cloth has worked for me, but we don’t get snow here. Thanks for the comments
