Chvrches sound so much more polished now. They keep getting better. These KEXP sessions are tremendous.
Lauren's skill is being sharply honed and she is obviously in the final stages of truly mastering her vocals. You can tell by the emotive inflections in her vibrato and her voice now segues into the next phrase fluidly. It's been fun watching this band mature. The gentlemen don't get the respect they deserve - they continually push flawless performances and are always tweaking their live/mobile sound for the better. They deserve anything and everything good that comes their way, they have worked incredibly hard.
"Final stages"? The band has existed for 5 years only, she's barely 28 years old, give it time...
Did you miss the context? Yes, she is in the final stages of mastering her voice. Not referring to the band as a whole at all, I understand they are young and blossoming. Point well taken.

I've just now realized how beautiful Afterglow is.
Their KEXP Live version changes my perspective of Afterglow. Didnt like it that much when I heard it in the album.
I like the beat of Never ending circles here much more than on the studio version. Although i think that Chvrches are better on the studio versions, i love that they are creative enough to change and adapt their tracks.
I love stripped-back, barebone, organic CHVRCHES easily as much as I love full-force, shimmering, immense CHVRCHES. This is easily my favourite CHVRCHES session. It is incredible how this band can deliver under any circumstance!
This is probably the best vocal performance by Lauren. Martin and Iain spot on as usual

Just discovered these guys for the first time ever after seeing their name here and there for a few years. Very impressed with their music. I also remember KEXP from their similar session with London Grammar a couple years ago - I highly recommend that to everybody too.

I wasn't too sure what to think when i first heard this band but the more hear them perform the more i get what they are about and i can see why people are raving about them.

This is probably one of my favorite live performances done by Lauren. Her voice has gotten SO much better pitch wise and stylistically. This is something you don't usually hear on their albums.

Always when I'm watching (or rather listening) performances on KEXP, I rewind talking part. When it comes to CHVRCHES, I can listening Lauren even if she is only speaking, not singing. Magical voice. And she sounds like a very funny and intelligent person. And modest by the way. All the best for you :)

When I first heart about Chvrches, I dunno that I would have realized how much further they were going to go. I enjoyed this all the way through, but their new album has shown that they really have solidified their direction.
