Outstanding band. Wolf Alice moved me to listen to modern music again instead of listening to my 60’s/70’s plus favourites. They reach out & connect with a huge age range. That’s the power of music. Especially from such young talented musicians. ❤️❤️❤️
Wow. The host is just the warmest person, showing unwavering interest for her guests. I find it hard to believe there exists another person more suited for this job.
@@bigfatamishbob6935 , just saw them on Nov. 4th in Denver. Was worried that she wouldn't be able to pull off the vocals from the new album live. She kicked butt. Clear as a bell, in key and more power than ever. Ellie and the rest of the band just keep getting better!
Popular here mate..... Glad they're a slow burner if they get to big they will stop trying and begin to sound shit.....Like most bands do eventually....
spotify has early songs of new bands uploaded so with wolf alice which I stombled upon back in 2012 or 2013 I think, the year before they entered bbc's list of new bands.

Yeah! I'm inclined to say that after all these years listening to KEXP live performances she is the most awesome host of them all. She get's the best out of all of the bands.
Dear KEXP Staff, just wanted to thank you for your commitment to music and your detication to the actual artists making it. It is more appreciated than I could express in a RUclips comment :-) Much love from Switzerland.
Love Ellie's shyness and how uncomfortable she feels while answering those questions. So adorable and you can tell that she evolved as fuck as a singer as well.
Yes! She is so lovely, so sincere, so true, so COOOLLLLL. No trace of arrogance just like a "normal" girl uncomfortable answering, but a giant, a godess when singing.
Maybe a bad analogy but both Streisand and Sinatra were better singers in middle age than when they were young. Ellie is nowhere close to middle age...
I've traveled hundreds of miles on two separate occasions to see them. It's awesome to see this beautiful soft spoken woman get on stage and transform into a ferocious rock and roll badass, then play a set like this and really show off her voice.
Plus Ellie is such a gentle, shy person, yet has this voice of extraordinary power and range. And of course they've gone to another level again with Blue Weekend.
KEXP are the unparalleled recorders, engineers and producers of live sessions that I've ever heard and seen on RUclips - whatever you are doing keep flippin doing it!!!
Cheryl really is the best :) That warmth, joy and energy she has is wonderful, so much dedication to music I truly admire her and of course KEXP team too for the work that they do, but as the above poster said, she truly is a gem
I keep trying find new bands, but keep coming back to Wolf Alice. Their songs are great played full tilt, but when they strip them down like this, i get goosebumps. So talented.
There's a band that kind of reminds me of Wolf Alice. I think it's because of how some of Wolf Alice's songs grow in intensity and also, the vocals. Check them out maybe, they're called Moon Fitzgerald, they just released their first EP
I love these young musicians. I love their attitude, their perseverance, their articulate and honest responses to questions, and, as someone else observed in this thread, their purity. It is not "purity" in any overbearing moral sense, but rather purity of intention, and purity of execution in approaching the making of music: rare, rare qualities in our current vapid, status-hungering, fame-seeking, sellout culture.
I can't stop playing it! I SOOOO wish the album was like these "stripped down" versions. So beautiful, you can actually hear the voices instead of all the headbanging racket! Wolf Alice, make an acoustic version, it's so amazing. Please!
Great versions of these songs - Ellies vocals are extra special on the quieter treatments - although she's always magic, It's good that the band are able to experiment with arrangements to keep things fresh. 💗💗
I'm a Gen Xer....Wolf Alice reawakened the shoegaze sound I totally forgot. I feel sooooo lucky to have come across this band, KEXP, you nailed it again!!!
Love Wolf Alice, saw their homecoming at Alexandra Palace in November. This is some of the best content for the band that i've found on youtube - thanks
Sheryl Waters has the unique ability to speak fluidly without injecting "umm" or other space fillers between words. It's a rare talent I'm envious of! And oh yeah, Wolf Alice... little mellower on this one but shows great versatility. Killer talent!
Been waiting for this for a while! Saw them later that day at Easy Street Records in a similar set. Really mellow and stayed after to sign autographs. Can't wait to see them again!
Wolf Alice are a great band. Ellie is an amazing talent. Joel on drums and background vocals is also incredible. No weak link in this group. Sky's the limit...
You already know the set is gonna be incredible when Cheryl Waters is the host
A thread and user were removed from this comment section. KEXP has zero tolerance for threatening behavior or abusive language.
Good to see some active moderation in the RUclips comments! Thanks for putting in the extra time to keep this a chill place!
Hell yeah, go KEXP
Way to go KEXP. There’s more than just one reason you’re all our favorites!
right on
Better not have been chatting shit about Ellie. Anybody who chats shit about Ellie is gonna get banged the fuck out.
Outstanding band. Wolf Alice moved me to listen to modern music again instead of listening to my 60’s/70’s plus favourites. They reach out & connect with a huge age range. That’s the power of music. Especially from such young talented musicians. ❤️❤️❤️

Some times when she hits a note and sustains it with that hint of vibrato, I just want to cry.
I read your comment before watching the session and was wondering about it - then she did it, and oh boy - you were so goddamn right!
Yeahhh.... it’s amazing..
Truly; Ellie is an amazing artist ❤️
me too

I can't believe this band isn't more popular. They are amazing.
Popular here mate..... Glad they're a slow burner if they get to big they will stop trying and begin to sound shit.....Like most bands do eventually....
Andrew Barker Saw them last month at a small venue, only a couple thousand people at most. Perhaps you're correct.
Gian Lorenzo Bernini They're on the up and up for sure. Featuring in a lot of festivals the last year or two
They don't need to, mainstream music could corrupt them.
Mercury Prize winners now :D
KEXP is my principal source to discover new bands...
spotify has early songs of new bands uploaded so with wolf alice which I stombled upon back in 2012 or 2013 I think, the year before they entered bbc's list of new bands.

Same here. Mostly.
Cheryl, always a warm and awesome host!
North America's John Peel!
Right! She's so kind and sweet.
Living legend man. A true fan and advocate of good music.
Yeah! I'm inclined to say that after all these years listening to KEXP live performances she is the most awesome host of them all. She get's the best out of all of the bands.
She is the best...
Every musician, instrument, and voice…. Spectacular!
Each member is so individually talented
...also modest and humble.

"Don't Delete The Kisses" is such a good song that it turns out amazing in any version.
Live at the mercury awards is by far the best version
Also highlights how wordy and difficult the spoken-word verses are to deliver in combination with the full-throated, soaring choruses.

4:09 Space & Time
14:53 Bros
19:49 Don't Delete The Kisses
Love KEXP, keep doing awesome job! (and Wolf Alice too:)
Domagoj K merci
thanks for putting the times next to the songs for easy clicking and video navigation thanks you
no problem!:D
viele danke
She's got a voice!!!
How is her voice getting better and better
I completely agree and they mic'd her and the band really well here too.
Maybe a bad analogy but both Streisand and Sinatra were better singers in middle age than when they were young. Ellie is nowhere close to middle age...
Practice and continually singing 🎶 taking care of the voice box chords and diet

I'm driving from Denver to Austin to see them in April.
James Warren I'm actually flying from Spokane to Phoenix to see them next month. It's a great reason to get away from the cold weather for a few days.
EvilTwinRob
Totally agree with that.👍
don't delete the kisses made me feel something special
man hes usually singing backup and melodies with Ellie but got that first song where he goes off on his own was amazing.. Love the dudes vocals!
Especially good to hear Joel so well in this session, he’s such an essential part of the Wolf Alice vocal sound
Plus Ellie is such a gentle, shy person, yet has this voice of extraordinary power and range. And of course they've gone to another level again with Blue Weekend.
I want those lights in my room 😍😌😌
Only recently gotten into Wolf Alice, but I am *here* for them now!
This band is so rad. Ellie's voice is heavenly.
I was today days old when I randomly discovered this band. I was definitely missing out!
You're a little after me. Discovered them this past summer and quickly turned into my favorite band :)
This version of 'Space & Time' is so pretty I want to cry
I agree! Especially the vocal interplay with Ellie and Joel
KEXP are the unparalleled recorders, engineers and producers of live sessions that I've ever heard and seen on RUclips - whatever you are doing keep flippin doing it!!!
I love Cheryl's interview. She's so intelligent and always make good questions!
Dead set. Cheryl is an absolute gem.
Cheryl really is the best :) That warmth, joy and energy she has is wonderful, so much dedication to music I truly admire her and of course KEXP team too for the work that they do, but as the above poster said, she truly is a gem
Her vibrato gives me the chills man...I love this band so much.

I want to reach out and give Ellie a hug

well said man
This 'Don't Delete The Kisses' performance... perfection
Cheryl is my musical mother
This is why Wolf Alice is the best band on the planet... and the rest of the world
Now I wanna know what a "nightclub" version of Don't Delete the Kisses sounds like.
I like Wolf Alice. They speak my soul.
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: the KEXP engineers are just top notch. fantastic mix for a fantastic band
jesus christ i love this band they never cease to amaze me with every version they do of their songs they always improve their already amazing music
The whole band is so in sync. Can you guys feel the energy? So good.
I can't stop playing it! I SOOOO wish the album was like these "stripped down" versions. So beautiful, you can actually hear the voices instead of all the headbanging racket! Wolf Alice, make an acoustic version, it's so amazing. Please!
Ellie's and Joel s voice are so beautiful together and alone 😍😍😍
My favorite British band at present. Ellen is very charismatic. Don't delete the kisses is an extraordinary song.
Good to still see something pure in this world
Wow, it's already been 3 years since their last time on KEXP? Good gracious. I listened to their last set dozens of times and they still sound great.
I love Cheryl Waters and Wolf Alice
Hard to describe this act! And that is what is awesome ..... transcendent and down to earth all at once! Beautiful.
Ellie’s voice is absolutely immaculate in this.
Ellie gives me an asmr effect.. beautiful voice and a beautiful person

Oh my gosh. Ellies vocals are absolutely amazing in this set. I know they are always good but the sounds is just soooo good on this.
Everything about this is so wholesome

The singer is pretty cool too.
I can't tell you how many times I watched their first appearance on KEXP. I'm excited to destroy the replay button once again
Great versions of these songs - Ellies vocals are extra special on the quieter treatments - although she's always magic, It's good that the band are able to experiment with arrangements to keep things fresh. 💗💗
Thank you KEXP for another perfect recording
I just discovered this one hell of a band and now I feel like I've slept under a rock. Where the hell am I all these years.
I'm a Gen Xer....Wolf Alice reawakened the shoegaze sound I totally forgot. I feel sooooo lucky to have come across this band, KEXP, you nailed it again!!!
Ellie is just fascinating. Vulnerable, delicate yet powerful and scary. She just has the wow factor.
The vibrato on her voice. 😊
KEXP studio technicians got to get some respect, top of their game, no doubt about it.
Bros is still my favourite song from them.
