Nice work, Andy. Id definitely be putting that specimen on the shelf too. It's not always about gold, well it mostly is but it's also fun finding cool rocks and crystals.

You never know, the piece of quartz was as big as your head. It was screaming at me...saying break me open! Next time it may be the real thing.

These sorts of quartz with different metallic intrusions I found since a kid always fascinating, I'd want an XRF machine, either a gun that takes spot readings, or the type you place an entire item in and it reads out every element from surface to insides. No spare $25k or $150k tho. Hello, dolly pot!
The King Parrots are beautiful, all age ranges, I'm guessing, by the colouration. It delights us when some species have returned to our bit of Narre, Crimsons, Easterns. Latest best the local pied butcher bird on the apricot outside the kitchen window, eyeing us off as the kettle boiled. Like a mini kookaburra. Gabi, out.

I have always picked up rocks as a kid, even on the farm. We ysed to plow up giant "thunder eggs" crystals. Picked up Sapphires and small Ruby's on the road!
Thanks for watching Gabi. Some random content!😂

@@andypandyAU.6669 You were a lucky kid with healthy interests! We have the rocks we're working on sitting under the TV for a spare moment to whittle the little thunder eggs, some thing that looks like Blue John, blue and yellow banding. A cool tip from Gadzee was baby oil on good quartz crystals, makes them look permanently wet, rather than dry and dull. I used expired Vitamin D, it fkn stinks, there's my tip! Avagood'un mate. ✌️

Bit of a bugger mate, I've had the same thing happen, you think your on and bang!!! galena, eventually it with oxidise now exposed and don't be suprised a bit of gold hiding in there, they go hand in hand. If you have some more material from the same rock, dolly it up and see if there's any fine gold. Cheers mate
