    I finally upgraded to a motorized sit-to-stand office desk, so I think this is a great time to take a home office tour! In this video, I'm going to show you my computer specs, peripherals, storage, cable management, and all other home office equipment I use. I'll also show you my production setup including all of my lights, cameras, and microphones, and how it's all assembled and ready to go at any point. I'll even show you all of the fun legos, toys, and memorabilia on the bookcase behind me!

    Respect some sensible choices for equipment - not chasing the latest things etc. On your PC - no separate AE Cache or database drive? Maybe if you are not producing longer pieces in AE it won't matter too much mind you. That AE cushion tho....for screaming into...yes?

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  Год назад +1

      I do have a Razer Blade laptop specifically for remote work, but hardly need it. It was originally my main workstation until I discovered the hard way that laptop batteries can't handle the heat from constant GPU rendering.

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  Год назад

      I've never had much need for GPU rendering, so I had no reason to dish out more money for it. Besides, the 3070 has performed fantastically when I do need it.

    • @matthewward1346
      @matthewward1346 Год назад

      @JakeInMotion fair enough! I guess with Ae it's more about the RAM and cpu. I'm learning blender atm and it's definitely a case of the bigger the better for that. Thanks for the reply!

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  Год назад

      Totally. When I got my computer from Puget, I was regularly doing C4D + Redshift work, and it was great for the work I was doing. I know the more you have the faster you can render, but I'm learning UE5 right now and can't believe what I'm able to render instantly compared to how long it takes AE to display a shape layer.

    • @matthewward1346
      @matthewward1346 Год назад

      @JakeInMotion oh yeah UE5 is amazing, that's my next stop! I want to build myself a strong blender-UE5-Ae pipeline for my animated short films.

    Explain yourself Jake. How do you survive with just 1.5 TB of storage

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  Год назад

      Well for one I'm not working for anyone else right now, hahaha. But I also keep all of my RUclips content on external SSDs. The primary drive is for os and apps, secondary is for working files and cache.

    • @DyslexicMitochondria
      @DyslexicMitochondria Год назад

      @@JakeInMotion where do you keep stuff like portfolio and past projects and backups and all that jazz? Bet its in the magnitude of tens of TBs

    • @JakeInMotion
      @JakeInMotion  Год назад

      It's really not that much. I generally don't keep the renders, just the source files. I have a 4tb external that I archive to, and use backblaze to make sure it's all safe.
