    That is why i always chose to go alone, companions are annoying as hell. Always blocking pathways or doorways, always attacking every enemy on sight (even if they don't have any chance), never keep up with my speed (and then teleport out of nowhere besides me and give me a jumpscare). They are sometimes as annoying as some escort missions in some games, because their ai is stupid. I prefer to walk alone in such games (maybe companion ai in The Outer Worlds is a little bit better, but i am finding it out soon).

    In my modded Oblivion companions are precious. There’s a finite amount of named hero npcs who you can party up with and they are all totally unique. They kick the shit out of everything, always smile at you, and they doesn’t afraid of anything. Best of all they all wear a hodgepodge of random crazy gear for stat min/maxing like players in mmos, so they look fucking hilarious. Like a bosmer witch blade in an enchanted robe, glass gauntlets, fur helmet, ebony boots, and a mithril battle staff. I love my goofy badass companions. And I especially love how everyone once in a while some faction list integration gets buggy and they get into a scrape with some rando and causes a whole city to go absolutely apeshit - guards attacking eachother, domesticated animals attacking npcs, etc.
    God, I love Oblivion. It’s a fucking nightmare to mod and optimize but its quirkiness gives it a charm no other game has, let alone other ES game.

    On the other hand, companions in Morrowind can have items with water walking enchantment, speed enhancing enchantment, among other enchanted items.
    My favorite is the Restore 5 Health, Constant Effect enchantment made from the soul of a Golden Saint contained in a Grand Soul Gem.
    It would be a miracle if a companion dies at that point.
    -
    Also, enchantments in TES games after Morrowind sucks Kwama droppings.
    Especially of those milk-drinkers from Skyrim that can only manage 2 sub-par enchantments at most & only achieves polishing Dunmer boots 50% more effectively. For all we know, a flame-enchanted chitin dagger could've been the cause of Red Mountain's eruption.

    • @coolthulhu2
      @coolthulhu2 2 года назад +4

      Morrowind had much more freedom when it came to enchanting and was all the better for it. I remember an early game one I would do was a iron dagger enchanted with Bound Dagger for 6 or 8 seconds on strike. I think the bound weapons boosted your skill making it an easy way to level it up. And because the time was so short it could be used many times before running out.

      Skyrim enchanting becomes OP when you cheese it, because Skyrim is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits or bugs whatsoever.

    • @muffinman2546
      @muffinman2546 2 года назад +5

      Yeah. If you loop Alchemy and Enchanting fortifications, you could end up with pretty OP items. Then factor in Blacksmithing-Enchanting-Alchemy looping to increase the base damage/armor to ridiculous levels, nevermind increasing the skill in mind (i.e. one-handed) to improve gear of said skill even further.
      -
      But then again, Morrowind has MUCH more armor/clothing slots & near limitless number of enchantments per item.
      -
      The only factor that cripples Morrowind enchantments are their exceptionally low base limit of enchantment points per armor/clothing piece unless you enchant extravagant-level amulets, rings, gloves, shoes & robes.
