I had a original Jagstang and it was the worst guitar I have ever owned. Never stayed in tune, The action was shite, felt horrible. I sold it in the end. It’s one of those guitars that’s good to have as a collection piece but to play it 👎
The thinner body makes this 2021 Jag-Stang so great. Mexico killed it here. The first 2 versions in the 90’s and 2002 had a thicker body which feels like a block. The new Jag-Stang feels normal to play even without the body cuts. Jag-Stang went on a diet! 😂😂🤣
Damn, that guitar sounds great ! I wasn't expecting it for some reason. Very versatile, it seems. Not a fan of how it looks, but who cares when it sounds and plays great.
I disagree with the sound, the pups on this model sound terrible if I am hones, I swapped the pickups on my mine. The look though is awesome and playability is comfortable and the tremolo is fun but has bad tuning issues. It's not a high end fender, but a cool collectible, not my favorite guitar I own though, I rarely play it anymore, even with upgrated pickups. I am not a huge fan of mustang personally and tend to gravitate more to the Jaguar.
This guitar wasn’t meant to be that expensive, Kurt didn’t want that. I’d rather get his signature Jaguar (which comes fully modded) than this for that price, they should make a squier version…
I thought so too...For something that's made in Mexico it's a bit pricey...And I've been a huge fan of Mexican Fenders since 1991... You're right...There should be a Squier model...
@@fuji3018 let’s see what are they bringing next year for the 30th anniversary of In Utero, probably a reissue of his signature mustangs hopefully, I really want one of those ngl and I would pay this price to get that than a jagstang
@@LeonardoTineo_ I just want a Kurt cobain squier guitar tbh. I’m still a kid and can’t afford these guitars man. Just give me one of his signature guitars in squier pricing and we’re good lol
counting for inflation It's practically the same price as it was when it originally released. Rather it be a bit pricey and built right then a cheap piece of crap
@@ERICF66 Kurt was getting $3,000+ in guitars and gear by fender for the soul purpose of destroying on stage. Plus it takes money to re issue a guitar hasn’t been made in so long as they have to re train employees on how to make it, redesign parts, and plus they used rosewood which is very expensive with all the prices and restrictions on wood now a days. So all this in mind the price is pretty fair
I love everything about this guitar, except Fender’s insane pricing. I get that it has the Cobain link, but cmon Fender, this should not cost more than 1k.
I got mine new for $1057.49 with a $52 added credit to the store. Pitbull audio. So that is just $5.49 over the $1000. Now you have to buy one! Or two. 👍🏼👍🏼❤️🎸
I enjoyed trying this but I have to say the materials seem quite similar to the player series guitars. Is it really worth 400 more than a player strat? I’d love to know why if so!
It's a signature model, that's always an upcharge. It also has a rosewood fingerboard rather than the pau ferro of the Player series, which some people care about, some don't. It also has a deluxe gig bag ($100) vs no gig bag with Player series. So if someone cares about the artist, all of that seems like $400 of value. It's also just something unique visually, and a combination of things you can't really get in any other model (24" scale, slanted humbucker, slanted single coil, out of phase switching, that style of tremolo).
Also this is a guess, but I'd strongly suspect that artist signature models get a bit tighter quality control since they cost more. My Player series had more QC issues than my Squier, but my Vintera (few hundred $ more than Player) is nearly as a good as my American guitar. Could be coincidence, but seems like a reasonable theory.
@@ryanhurst3859 I have the Jagstang and I think your right about the care! Mine is a fantstically crafted guitar that I cant see one thing wrong with it. Some say overpriced but im a fan so!!!!!!!!!! Great guitar! :) XXX
There isn't an Indonesia version, but the body shapes between the Mexico and Japan version are slightly different. The Mexico version also has a slightly slimmer body
This guitar shouldn’t be much more than a basic $800.00 MIM fender. ~edit~ I would like to add why. I would love to perches this guitar 🎸 for the body but the sound quality sucks in my opinion, I would definitely plan on changing both pickups.. that’s not cool for an instrument over a $1000
In the 24 scale with a rosewood fretboard and slim c neck no you can’t lol this is a niche guitar lol if you don’t like it don’t buy it . You’re buying it for it’s history and unique shape . Simple. As . That.
Every review of this guitar it sounds great and people are surprised by it
The guitar player from my first band had an original one, and he looked like Kurt Cobain too! Haha. He's a corporate puppet now.
Just bought one today and it sounds like a common Squire

That was purely a corporate, money saving decision... You're deluding yourself if you think they gave any though to playability.

The Squier Bullet Mustang is extra cheap and has huge, hot humbuckers.

jagstang or jaguar? Cannot decide
Jag-stang better, he have humbucker in bridge and single in neck, it is much better than 2 singles or 2 humbuckers.
