i started art school this october at 28! after getting an unrelated degree where i was not happy working in, i applied to art school, and it was such a great decision. assignments are fun rather than boring and stressful and my peers are wonderful (although my class consists of people mostly fresh out of high school and a few 24 year olds). I feel like in your late 20s you are more grounded and already know where you want to be in life -at least more than i did when i was 20-. a lot of my friends the same actually also went back to uni for a second degree because they found their first degree did not fulfill them and starting over. i dont think its ever too late to pursue what you want to do in life, i feel like i would have regretted it otherwise. be it 29, 39, or 79, if you are able to pursue what you want to do is something no one can ever be too old for i think. and 29 is still young, even if social media tells us differently. 👍
Oh my gosh that's so exciting! How is it going, have you wrapped up your first semester? Is this a BFA? Thank you for the encouragement, it's so nice to know I'm not alone on this journey. You're so right, I honestly have found my time in school so much more rewarding this time around, because I feel much more grounded and focused on my path. Here is to chasing our dreams in our late 20s! 🥳
It’s never too late to follow your dreams - time will pass either way so you might as well live your dreams. Love your beautiful artworks - keep creating!

do you feel "different" from others in your class (due to the age)? I am in the similar situation, but I feel like I am rather sabotaging myself...
