- Stay tuned for Steve's video! He received $20,000 of the donation pool to put toward his own charity event in partnership for supplying his 20 string guitar for our giveaway. I also matched 5% of the donations and chipped in $4000 of my own money to make sure everything went off without a hitch. We're hoping we can make an even bigger impact next year! Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered or participated in any way!

The first guitar was a rocking jazzmaster.
My first guitar was my tablet :( spoiled brat getting a V
Gear doesn't matter as much as you'd think. I got my first bass at 15 which was a cheap Ibanez, a few later bought a 62' Reissue Jazz bass, ended up selling the Fender and keeping the old Ibanez because I thought it plays and sounds better, despite being a lot cheaper.
Just make sure you're playing your heart out and having a blast doing so, and that's all that matters.
My first guitar was an acoustic that i made, my first electric was my dad’s

Someone bought me a guitar when I was a kid. I took two to three lessons then quit...and then the guitar moved houses with me, was lent out to siblings and relatives and friends who all took lessons. But... a few months ago, I picked it back up and have been playing consistently and really enjoying it.
So moral of the story is! A lot of these kids already play but some don't seem to, and that's okay. They've still found something really special and the cool thing is they now have the option to learn guitar and a shiny, beautiful instrument to motivate them.
So stoked this was able to happen! So many kids' lives got changed

Man, seeing that little girl at the end play 'Wish you were here' legit made me cry' and I don't even know why lol. I think it's just watching the impact that music has on people. Watching a song that will withstand the test of time being played by someone who will never get to experience music like it was then. The universe is nuts.

You're a wonderful person I ever met, you gave those kid an amazing opportunity to purchase good and branded guitar and you are a real musicians who wants others to seek the wonders of music. I really respects you bro.
Dude, this is the coolest thing I've seen in a LONG LONG time. I have seen first hand what music can do for someone. Especially a kid. You have changed A LOT of lives for the better. Mad respect brother.
This is awesome. So many kids get those shitty starter packs and dirt cheap knockoffs (from people with good hearts but either don't know the difference or can't afford better quality gear), and they quit either because they think they are doing something wrong due to faulty equipment or they get frustrated when the equipment just doesn't work. I dealt with quite a few disappointed parents who returned them when I worked at a music shop. By giving these kids $750 each, you get them started on or upgraded to some solid gear that they WANT to play on, which increases the chances of them continuing on and getting better. Well done.
I was lucky enough to be born into a musical family. While my parent's didn't have a lot of money, they worked hard to get me instruments that may have been cheap, but worked. Forever grateful 🙏 I hope these kids look back one day and realize how lucky they are
oh that's me rn.. almost 21.. and the guitar i got is just disgusting.. idk i cant play with this, sound keeps getting interupted, and what comes out of it is just rubbish

Those people are absolutely pathetic. To me it doesn't matter if it's going to chairty or buying kids new instruments. He raised this much money and did something for the kids, giving back to his community. If people are pissed about that, they need to get a life.

@Goruthia Player charity is a word that means, helping others in an act of generosity. Doesn't mean you *need* to donate *only* , you can do so much to help out as an act of charity. What he did here, is basically charity as well, and to add up to that, music is one of the good ways to express or be a part of someone way of expressing themselves. That's mentally helping those kids at their very young age, since many young generation nowadays face depressions and that could possibly a great medium to help cope with everything (i hope this doesn't happen, but gotta put it up here)
