      I agree, 100% I miss the days a back when you could easily replace your battery without being a fucking medical surgeon the pull everything out in order to get to the stupid battery just to replace it.
      And this is why people are kind of dumb and they'll go out and purchase a $1,000 phone.
      The funny thing is, there are cheaper options and not everybody needs the best of the best of the best phone.
      But everyone believes they need the best phone.

    You should never use heat on a lithium ion battery. Buy some 99% anhydrous alcohol and an eye dropper. Use the eye dropper to SOAK underneath the battery while applying force with a razerblade from underneath. The alcohol is not conductive nor corrosive and will disolve the adhesive. The pressure you apply with the blade will pop the battery up with ease and you can simply pull it the rest of the way with your bare hand. I do this multiple times a day try it.

    • @PBKreviews

      yeah this video is fairly old, isopropyl alcohol is used now a days to make it easier plus most batteries come with adhesive pull pouches now so it's not even necessary

    So as a repair tech, the phone cost me 135.99, and assuming I can get parts, the time in labor would be more than a new comparable cell. Even if it was just a battery or screen. A throwaway, buy a new cell. And when I say throwaway, recycle it, do not let it go to a landfill!

I cannot seem to press it back on, it's like something is stuck right behind where the volume buttons are located. Not sure what I should do, I'm a bit scared I will break my phone completely if I do anything, what should I do?

    • @PBKreviews

      It might be the metal bracket which holds the power button to the side. You would probably have to take off the back housing to re seat it properly and push it back onto the phone.

    Using that metal spatula on the logic board can damage the board easily... Both static electricity and prying against the small filters around the terminals can cause irreparable damage. Plastic tools work best....

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 года назад +2

      Yes using plastic is best but forget about shorting. These aren't from 20 years ago, electronics now arnt that susceptible to being damaged from static. I can't believe people still say that. I have been doing this since 2003 and worked on thousands of phones. Not once did anything ever short. If your sitting on a static rug and rubbing your self around it while your doing this then yes maybe you might and this is again might short something but if you have the battery disconnected you shouldn't have any issues. But ya metal tools can damage the parts more easily than plastic tools but sometimes plastic tools can actually damage the parts when they are not strong or thin enough and break off resistors around connectors etc.

      Hi, those are antenna contacts which touch the antenna flex on the back housing to make a connection. If you broke one, its possible you may have reception issues with either voice, or data or wifi. Its possible you wont have issues also since there are multiple antenna to gain signal from different directions n ways so won't be able to tell until you test it out.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 года назад

      yea, since the battery would need to be removed as well as the charger port board and screen flex cable would need to be disconnected from the main board, so everything would need to be taken apart. If your replacing just the screen without midframe, you would heat up the front of the screen and pry it off the midframe after you took everything apart as shown in the video. Then you would get your new screen and apply it with new adhesive to the midframe making sure you run your screen cable back through the midframe and then re-assemble the phone. If you're replacing a screen pre attached with a midframe already (which would be easier), then after taking everything off the old screen assembly you would just re-assemble the parts onto the new screen assembly, not having to pry the old screen off the midframe and having to re-apply the new screen with adhesive back onto the frame. Hope this helps.

      It's explained in the video how to do it, there is no point in prying off a working screen to damage it so I just explain what you do. Once the phone is taken apart as the video shows, all that is left is for you to pry the screen off the frame. New screens usually come with adhesive so all you do is get your new screen once you pry off your old one and apply it back to the frame and re-assemble the phone.

    My screen went black

      Its possible if you dropped the phone that the screen got a hairline crack somewhere that you can't see and its preventing it from working, or possible the cable has gotten disconnected from a drop. Also possible the phone is just frozen, try holding down the volume down key and power button at the same time for 20 seconds and reboot the phone and see if it works.
