yeah, Ithink it's about time I started learning to climb the pole the CORRECT way rather than how I've been doing it. I tried teaching myself based solely on how it looked like other people were doing it and was confused as to why i kept hurting the top of my foot. Like "how were all these pole dances doing this without hurting their feet all the time." I've been pushing myself up the pole with JUST my feet rather than using both my legs and arms. (Now all i have to do is actually work on my upper body strength *cries)
i have gone to pole class 8 times and have still not managed to climb. i can go from the first position to the more standing one, but then can't climb a second time. (i feel weak and slide down.) this was a more detailed explanation than i've gotten in class so far, so i'm trying it tomorrow!
At least 13 years since I've been on a pole. I just set up now new pole today. Definitely great tips and easily explained tutorials thank you. Don't know if at 40 I will have the same stamina. I'm blistered and bruised from only 30 mins 😂
I‘m a 19 year old pole beginner trying to learn all the basics as I’ve always been interested in the sport. Reading your comment made me happy :) It’s glad that you’ve still kept the passion and I’m sure you’ll work your way right back into it!
@@elisavs2588 thank you so much. I'm excited I definitely need to build up strength. All week me and my 3 daughters have had so much fun. My hands are blistered and my legs are bruised lol. My middle daughter who is 10 is like a little gymnast ballerina on the spin pole
@@laurairving8708 wow go you!! I'm sure you will build the strength too. I've definitely in the past few weeks got straight back into all the beginner moves . Although my leg bruises are very concerning lol . My shoulders feel like they're ripped off the tendons but muscle memory is quite a good thing 😅 Enjoy poling Laura
Aw, sorry to hear it! I totally get it. I was super slidy learning to climb. Even now i might slightly slide if it feels too painful. I found it really helped to put shaving gel or some sort of pole body grip on the legs contact points (mainly the calves). Do you feel like it's due to sweat or pain or maybe strength? Pole is like a science experiment, there are so many variables impacting how easily we can do certain moves!! For example, if you have less strength in the arms, you might be relying a lot on the legs to hold your weight. This can be painful for your legs and cause you to not want to grip as tightly with your legs because it hurts which causes you to slide. BUT once your arms become stronger, you can support your weight better more equally between the arms and legs so less weight goes into just the legs holding you up and this means less pain in the legs = not as much sliding! Sorry if that was confusing 😂My brain thinks about moves like this... Anyways, let me know what you think it is. I love to analyse moves 🤓
@@PoletatoJemPoleDancer I love your style and generosity. I'm working on building my full body strength to be able to climb. This is by far the hardest physical activity I've tried to date. Hi Lily, I just realised I do have a video that touches on some conditioning exercises if you wanted to check that out :D! ruclips.net/video/CohWjnan7yk/видео.html (starts at 10:55). I have recently discovered even more conditioning exercises from a physiotherapist that I find so helpful. I'm excited to share this soon with you ! Happy pole dancing my friend 😘
I dont really do pole dancing and im a boy, but the reason i wanted to learn this is because my friend did it on a pole (trying to climb it to the top) and i wanted to do it.
Better watch out! You'll get hooked. There are many incredible male pole dancers out there. Some have more grace than women (not fair!), while others just ooze masculinity. Males are incredibly strong polers.

You are awesome because you break down everything more than once and I need that during my beginning pole climb! Thank you!
I’ve been working on this climb for a while but hadn’t quite got it. You did well breaking it down for me to understand it. This helped, thanks
"lift your legs until your knees are higher than your hips". That part. HOW
gotta do more strength training bro

I’m really rusty now I’m having a hard to going up but your video is Amazing✨🙏🏼❤️
Can you do a conditioning for beginners? You explain everything so well!!
Absolutely! It's definitely on the list :D

Aww yay! Let me know what content you'd like to see here :D
Omg I remember not being able to climb the pole properly for a few months 😅😂 poor shins
hahaha same here! It's definitely a weird movement to get used to. It's not like we've ever tried climbing a pole before starting pole dancing 😂
My shins and the top of my feet are so bruised 😂😢

What if I never learn how to do this. It’s so hard
I can’t get the second leg up
Omg look how graceful and beautiful you look and when I’m climbing I’m sweating like a pig
I’m tryna get familiar with the pole
I’m struggling to grip the pole with my legs 😢
Hello! I have dry legs. I apply shaving gel onto my legs with the back of my hand which really helps.

I just give up and start wiggling up the pole like a lizard. 😂
I always feel like my upper body gets higher than my lower, I feel like I get ahead of myself
this move is so hard for me😢
So what about of you can't even pull yourself up?
I keep freaking slipping
I’m only 9
It doesn’t work
You're a great teacher 😩🤞🏾
Thank you Rose! So kind of you 😘 How's the climbing treating you?
