This is by far the most frustrating level I've ever had the displeasure of playing through. Probably spent more time than necessary just trying to solve those ridiculous portal puzzles. Love the game. Not this stage. Thanks so much for your walkthrough vids. They are a great help.

I am fine with puzzles, what upsets me is puzzles with time requirements. I play games to have fun not stress out a race against the clock.

This map should be called Puzzle tower then Dark tower, feels like devs runned out places to put puzzles and some 1 "Brilliant let's throw em all here"

This game is 90% puzzles 10% combat.. I want to like this game but WTF... Even the boss fights are puzzles
I'm stuck at the part with the 2 floating rotating things. I guess you have to shoot them with the teleporter some specific way to cross to the other side..
my friend always laughs at me because whenever I get stuck on one of these games I twirl my controller and say "LET'S SEE WHAT KUDDLE HAS TO SAY"

I played this game on release back on the Xbox 360. Over a decade later, I downloaded the trilogy via PS Plus and decided to play them in order (never played Darksiders 3, so looking forward to that).
I knew there was something wrong about the first game. Couldn’t quite remember what… and then I got to the Black Throne.
I understand they wanted to emulate God of War with some Zelda peppered in for innovation, but whoever thought introducing Portal in this area is hopefully not in charge of level design for the other two entries.
That being said, thank you for this guide. I was ready to uninstall this game and jump to the second, but will give it another chance

These portal puzzles are really annoying... killing the game for me, I just want to finish the game out of stubbornness at this point.

I love you're happy upbeat personality and fun facts (Please don't let the negative comments of others stop your fun comments in the vids) .Even when you have made mistakes it helps me to know what I should be careful of- in those places. It's like I'm playing along with my online gaming friends~ I can't wait to do another playthrough when i get Darksiders 2 with you !!! :)
3:18 this is the first time you have to use the Abyssal Chain to get a bomb and the game gave you no hint that you can use it this way. I literally blew that crystal by using the bomb in the main Azrael area and throwing it through a portal you can see rotating. And it worked.
I declare myself in hate with the puzzles of this game. I also bought the second one (they were very cheap), but if the 2nd is the same bullcrap with the puzzles I am not even trying, does the 2nd one has less puzzles?
Nope, they get even more complicated and are more frequently placed around the games enviroments

@2:00...how the hell am I supposed to figure that out? The game doesn't even tell you that you can send portals through another portal. Also, there is no guarantee where you will end up, this is hands down the worst part of this game. How can I complete a puzzle if you don't give me all of the pieces?

All I can say is holy shit!l!! I've always wanted to finish this game I didn't get a chance to on my PS3 I'm on my PS4 now and I had trouble getting past the first boss back then plus a new game came out probably red Dead redemption or something way back then and I just said hell with it but now I'm determined to beat this game! on this video... The fight before we started heading back I almost had to just give up because I haven't watched you throughout this whole game I tried not to if I don't have to on games, but I've watched the last two videos and will watch the next, and I'm short probably three or four skulls more than you and a whole lot more wrath!I only have three yellow bars at the bottom and six skulls at the top! And I still found a way to barely beat those bastardsI hope we get a chance to meet the merchant again because I want to use some of my souls up to get some stuff & hope the ending isn't as bad as those fights were but without this video.... I probably would have just through this disk plum out in the highway and ran over it!! These puzzles are insane! these fights are insane! But I wouldn't have been able to do it without you bro, thanks for the video that's all I can say thank you for making these videos! I'm hoping I have a good ride on the second one that I've been wanting to get into and then the third! All the God of war puzzles and Zelda puddles ain't shit compared to this!I always thought those games were hard and I just couldn't figure out how my best friend could figure them out without any walkthroughs books or anything's back in the day we didn't have you too we didn't have people making videos for those games and they were insane puzzles back then, but these puzzles are in a whole different league, you need to have a nice great paying job inventing video games! Thank you for this walkthrough. I am playing this on Switch now and hate hate hate this level so much. At 2:00 you already showed me how to figure out this portal puzzle that I have been stuck on for a long time. I couldn't see that hallway down through the portal no matter how hard I tried!! Utterly frustrating, but now just trying to get through the game since I must be getting close to the end (hopefully).

I usually like these kinds of puzzle levels with things like multiple portals or switches but I hate them when they make you constantly worry that you missed something.

after dat years this is fakin stupid boring and frustrating , whole puzzle harder then all game on apocalyptic wtf , and i think when i didnt saw this helpful video i spent more time on these puzzles then all fights and bosses in all game , i love this game i wanna give 8 from 10 to this game on critic overrating but cause this i must do 6from10 and maybe only 6 cause i fakin love lore and this game , but not this stupid puzzles , this puzzles stole my soul and heart and my brain went off after this , but ty a lot of this walkthrough! hello my friend . please i have a big problemme with this part . for me i pass to the 3 gardien . but this is whiithout finding the key . and the game lets me pass withot the key . but whine i came whith the light i find that the door too azrael is closed . and i cant go back .and if you want i bring to you a video to this if you dont inderstand what i mean .
Jesus christ this game dropped off a cliff. I was enjoying this a lot until the Ashlands. That's when things began to get tedious and boring. But then..The Black Throne. My fucking god. They went way, WAYYYY overboard with these goddamn portal puzzles. They are so tedious and annoying. But the worst part is how many there are. Why did they feel the need to create 1 to 3 portal puzzles for literally every single room?? It's like they ran out of ideas and steam when they started on The Ashlands and just decided to replace good ideas with never ending combat. Then someone came up with the Voidwalker Puzzles and they went "Yes! This. Do this! The Puzzles, ALL the puzzles!" The entire rest of the game will be non stop Voidwalker puzzles!!" I spent as much time on this stupid last stage as I did on nearly the first half of the entire game. The Black Throne is one of the worst levels in any game ever.

There isn't really any loot, just shards (collectables) and voice recordings. It does have an addictive power-up system, and you feel more and more powerful after every upgrade. It is still one of the best Superhero games out there. Engaging story and world, and a great protagonist (or anti-hero if you will) make a great, enjoyable game. No game is without its problems, but the first playthough is worth every penny, especially at the $20 price tag.

The part at 13:15. If u try to jump u will fall nd it will spawn u past the stairs u can skip all tht fighting just dont run up to the stairs not even on ur way back
I feel like the black thrown is the kingdom of the dead but in darksiders 1. Its the area where most players will probably quit

I didn't get the chance to get the fan thing working and I didn't fight the boss to redirect the damn beam, im stuck where the beam supposed to shine through and I can leave the area, because both doors are locked. It's nothing I can do now. I at the verge of quitting now. Puzzles 😤😑
I enjoyed most of the puzzles in this game, they actually feel like puzzles and make you think, unlike a lot of other games. But a couple of them in the Black Throne were a little frustrating no doubt.
12:20 I'm stuck on this room it doesn't matter the angle I threw the bomb it never lands on that crystal. I can't throw while landing either.
I know it's late, but the door @ 27:20 won't even give me the option to open it. And I'm stuck with a beholder's key which I probably have to use for it. Is there anything I can do?

on to the last beam to free azreal I fell all the way down with out hitting the first teleport on the top.I do I get back up
I got to the part with the portals and the purple chains and there's no light beams anywhere and don't have any earlier saves. I broke the game somehow.

At 26:05 the blades on the wall are glitched and stuck at orange some how so the gate doesn't open when I hit them, so I'm stuck in the room

Ok so part 1 and 3 aren't bad it was basically just the back tracking of 2 that sucked.
Are you using a controller or mouse and keyboard? I've been using a controller for most of this game since the keyboard controls annoyed me but with all these items that require aiming, using a thumb stick on the controller is becoming really irritating and slow. -_-

Well, fuck! I missed the Abyssal Armor piece in The Black Throne and now I already beat Straga, went through Eden and shit. Can I go back and get that Armor piece or will I have to play through the game all over again? :(
