"There is a co-op mode apparently but I didn't get to test that, I didn't have anybody." I felt that on many levels.

@@ashleyklassen7963 Sounds fun!

Damn, Falcon flew down south for the winter right when Jake needed a player 2.
Me. Own tons of coop games. Zero friend
I enjoy games like this, it's a straight up action adventure game that doesn't try to reinvent the wheel nor does it try to be something it's not. In a world of under developed & over developed games, evil West is a breath of fresh air ✌️
I’ll definitely check this out! After playing Elden Ring, Yakuza, Valhalla, Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, I need a break from these massive 100+ hour games. I miss the nice short and sweet games and this looks exactly what im looking for
Hey bad guy!

Valhalla was dogshit, such a shame

Agreed. Also this game is ya know enjoyable which is more than you can say for some games looking at you from software

Fun fact, you can choose not to be overwhelmed, just stick to the main story and you can play open world games the same as a regular one! Nobody is forcing you to do anything optional.

No side quest, no rpg, no loot. As soon as I heard those words, I bought the game.
A Game for guys my age late 30s mid 40s who just want to shoot crap without grinding without micro management
I had so much fun with Evil West. I really hope there’s gonna be a sequel to it.
The game footage and description gives me so much Bulletstorm vibes, which is a very good thing..! I loved that game enough to have already bought it for both for 360 and PS4. Just simple escapist gameplay fun set in a creatively designed world. I hope this one holds to that standard… 😁

Nice to see a game that is straight forward and fun. No bs agenda, no huge skill tree, no grinding. Just jump in and go.
Game is actually looks very cool. Might get it if it ever goes on a big sale
I picked this up yesterday on a Xbox sale. I got a few hours in last night and Jake couldn't be more right about it having an "old-school" game type feel. It was tons of fun. Can't wait to dive in over the weekend and get to the guts of this game.
There are not many games these days that are as forgiving for older graphic cards (GTX 1050). I can play this on epic settings at 30fps and it gives me that old-school R&R. So, a definite must-buy for me!
I’m in love with this game for the sole purpose of being a complete polished AAA game on release, which is a rare commodity nowadays
It's free with ps plus this month and I can't wait to give it a go. I miss thise types of game that just let you play and have fun. Guardians of the Galaxy are exactly that as well. If Evil West is even half as fun as that I'm happy.
I think Plague Tale does this simple format brilliantly, the levels (or chapters) are linear but not so that your hand is held, it tells a brilliant story and develops the character with dialogue as you are walking through the level. Hopefully this game and future games follow that format, I don’t want every single game to be linear but just a few so have a choice of gameplay because everything does feel complicated or open world at the minute.
This game is great, it’s a refreshing new take of the Wild West setting that has you gunslinging and electrifying until your hearts content. The game knows exactly what it is and it sets out to be just that. It has a good upgrading system for the character as well as all your weapons also so plenty of options if you’re like me and love having a good upgrading mechanic in games. If you’re looking for an arcade feeling third person linear shooter that is easy to pick up on the fly this should definitely be near the top of your list. Just on a personal opinion if I were to try and compare this game to anything else gameplay wise at least I would say it’s a loose mash up of god of war & gears of war.
I love games like this. We need more or them, but, perhaps add a bit more depth and length.
Agreed. I’m holding off on buying it even though it’s on sale for 45$
All I could think during this was how sweet a Mistborn era 2 game would be in this style.
Worked on localization for this one! :)
It makes me happy to hear that it's out there and people are enjoying it!
10:07 Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath did a good job with that
Just beat this. Really does feel like the best way to describe it is a mix of old and new gow set in the wild west. I felt the same way about vamps but actually like all the different creatures bc a lot of them are linked to American myths like the jersey devil and skinwalkers
I'm actually enjoying this game, I think it's pretty underrated. I think the difficulty curve is kind of bad though. I went from being able to take no hits whatsoever to dying constantly between like one encounter. I won't finish it before Callisto Protocol releases, and I will definitely be ditching it to play that. It's not good enough to delay me from playing that.
Yes it is. DF says it's shader compilation causing it. The way they figured it out is the stuttering happens every time something is seen in the game for the first time. If you were to restart a checkpoint everything you already did would be studder free. A shame they released it that way.
I was actually going to do Kalisto first, but then after it came out and I heard how bad it is I went ahead with evil west and boy am I glad I did

there is a game that is familiar with Evil West's kinda vibe.. i played it on ps2 ages ago and its called Darkwatch..but its first person shooter kind of game..
now with evil west being release..its kinda make me happy that the game devs decides to dive in third person game with wild west and vampire kinda setting..and thats true they dont make games like this anymore..im looking forward for more games like evil west ngl..
This reminds me of Shadows of the Damned. Something that I never got to finish because I was young and new to gaming. My mom made me trade it in when she realised that I was too young for it. Now I can't really find it anywhere.
Its the unofficial darkwatch continuation we all wanted
This is a $39.99 kinda game for me. Definitely going to wait for a sale or Game Pass release. But for the right price, it looks very fun. I’ll just replay The Order and/or Bulletstorm for now.

Does it break anyone’s heart when Jake says he didn’t have anyone to co-op with?
I bet there’s a whole community of people who would love to game with the man himself.
The game looks complete and not buggy. That's my standard now, it's gotta be clean.

After my first playthrough and working on 2nd on Evil, this game fucking rocks. The combat system is excellent, makes sense seeing as these were the same guys who made Shadow Warrior 3, and while that game had some issue the combat was not one of them. This game is an easy 8.5/10

This is GOW in the Wild West with guns.
I picked it up thinking it was like Darkwatch. It mainly felt a lot like God of War 2018

Or invest A LOT of time into learning how to play well. I played enough super difficult games back in the 70s - 80s, I'd rather just play a game with a great story and fun mechanics nowadays. Of course, to each their own, but I'm happy there are still games like this being made as AAA titles.

That said yes, I want something simple and straight forward sometimes - and they're becoming harder to come by.
Exactly what I thought it looked like! A "good old game", straight with linear levels, bosses, cutscenes.. like in the PS3/X360 era.
And yeah even before that era. It's more in recent years we get lot's of complicated games with tons of upgrades and different resources to collect/trade and RGP elements and mini-games, etc. Games have more abilities and longer skill trees for each entry. Sometimes it's good with the good old game structure
it's sad you have to refer to this as PS3/360 era title when this is literally just a hack and slasher game.(No offense to you) It just shows how companies only care about money and dont care for a quality product. Game titles like these are then considered niche or rare because companies are out of touch with what players want in specific titles and then INSTEAD pump it full of microtranactions and terrible design choices and questionable social commentary.
