Anyone like myself a tradesman with access to tools/ gas guns and general knowledge sometimes take for granted thing's like this how easy it is and how difficult it might be for somebody not used to working with thier hands, really good video and simple enough instructions/advice for anyone that wants to have a go👌🏻👍🏻😊
@@richardwitherstone7396 The non-trades people learn from RUclips vids like this and advice and just trying it out. I’m not in any trade wasn’t allowed to do metalwork etc at school so just read up get advice watch vids and give it a go. I did a timing belt and waterpump on a V6 engine like this having not done one before. The difference is that I’ll take three times the amount of time doing something compared to a professional as it’s unknown territory, at least the first time. Mechanical things like basic car maintenance and airguns are do-able, I wouldn’t do any electrics or plastering or things that take a ton of practice just to do an ok job …
@alistairmcclure1930 I install bathroom suites for a living, the only thing I don't do is plastering 😂 dirty rotten job I just employ a proper plasterer especially how quickly he can do it and at a reasonable cost.
@@richardwitherstone7396 I’m sure there’s trade tricks and awkward fixes in your business .. I’m not keen on things involving the possibility of water seeping into stuff!
Great video, nice and clear for people nervous of trying it, After doing this I grind it flat then hold it in one hand and rub it on the oilstone, then onto a piece of thick glass with fine oil and wet/dry paper, followed by a buff on a polishing wheel loaded with green compound for a mirror finish, and it DOES make a difference to the firing cycle! enables the spring to rotate easily, All my springs are finished this way before installing 👍👍🐰look out rabbits! 😊
Hi Nick, nicely done demonstration of a simple procedure. The very old HW 30 you helped me with a year ago is working well. With an 8.4 gr. pellet I get 7 ft lbs of energy and it is a pleasure to plying around the yard with. Thank you for this presentation.
I finish the cut end off with a file and emery paper to a nice polished shine. I then go all OCD and deburr the inside of the cut I made with a little round file.
Interesting where you said the steel will turn to carbon steel. Spring steel has a carbon content of around one percent carbon. I will agree there no need to harden the spring, after annealing as it will become brittle with a hardness of around 60. Hrc. I’m a knife maker, and if one wanted to temper steel, the most common way is to use just a house hold oven.
Nick is an absolute legend, I bought my first airrifle, which was a hw30s, about 5 years ago and almost immediately fitted a tbt kit:) as many others I contacted Nick (on messenger) and he replied very soon helping me with all my noob questions. That’s insane knowing he is running a business, taking care of his family and then still chatting with thousands of customers. I bought tbt kits for all my weihrauchs after that, stand up guy this👌🏻

I use the flame to shorten the spring as well, just heat and bend until it snaps. Then compress the end:)

Great video. 👍
Makes me confident to buy and install a TbT kit to my Weihrauch myself now.
Yeah man you can! Good luck with it! And take your time and it will be fine
Another interesting video!

I bought a modified one, the owner installed 41 coils spring (hardest ever) on a tiny lil air arms pro sports, so the spring guide broke inside
Do you grind the flat end of the crushed coil or is that just a bit unnecessary?
The cut off saw pretty much flattens it, but I finish the job on the bench grinder👍
Torch/cigarette lighter..? Hmmm..! 😮
Remind me never to ask you for a light 😂😂😂
Rotary tool with a diamond cutoff blade, the blades are cheap.
Slitting disc in an angle grinder.
