The image quality is superb, the color is excellently saturated, I prefer this lively color vs the dull washed flat profile under-saturated movies. Still, I didn't have the feeling that it is video. It is more like a catalogue video for a travel company. Excellent. I love the deep depth of field. As for the camera on ZhiYun crane, I am not sure, the crane cannot remove the waving movements from the video. I am not convinced. The footage is smooth, but as you walk, your steps generate super-noticeable waving. I have a ZhiYun crane, too, which I use with my A5100 and A9, and I have super smooth no waving. The reason I'd love to buy an AX700 is to get rid of the cumbersome crane. When I use it, everybody are watching me, super annoying. Thank you for sharing your experience, Sir.
Gimbals that remove vertical movements are much more complicated and expensive. To avoid up/down movement while walking/running, he user has to keep knees bent and look strange. Also, none of the 1" sensor Sony camcorders have as good image stabilization as the smaller units with BOSS stabilization. I have both and the difference is amazing.
Nice footage, but I am not convinced of the stabilization effect shown here. Considering the AX700 is a higher-end consumer camcorder from 2018 used in combination with a pricey gimbal this is not even at par with my 7 years old Sony CX730E with BOSS stabi.

The camera can not be controlled connected to the Crane 2. It looks like the user is controlling the tilt and pan using the thumb wheel. You can detect a slight jerk when the button is used to move the camera. I only use the button to control the tilt and just turn the Crane 2 with my hand in order to pan. It works much better that way. I have used it while running and it is amazing how smooth the video can be. People have told me they thought the camera was mounted to the side of a car until the camera suddenly floated between two people. You also need to connect the Crane to the computer and adjust the parameters to soften the movement. Also, your technique needs to be practiced to keep the "bounce" to a minimum. The last comment is about people watching you while you are using Crane 2 with the AX700. Yes, I agree that it will draw attention but I have had people ask me if I video professionally and ask for a business card. You have to admit it is an awesome looking professional setup. So I guess it's all in the way you look at the situation and what you expect while using this system. Great video, keep it up.
Are you able to control the power and zoom and the follow thru buttons on the crane with the AX700 using the mini sony usb cable? or do you just use it for stabalization only? there is no room above the AX700 for the shoemic is what i dont like using the gimbal
i tried connecting my ax700 with cable to crane, and it just says "preparing usb" and doesnt do anything, must be some setting im missing? if using a sony shoemic on top, the crane swing arm will keep hitting it, unless you make sure you keep the crane upright position the entire time
Nice video but I wonder how you could attach directly a long camcorder to a gimbal that has a short arm and is suitable for dsrls or mirrorless cameras. As Miklos Nemeth noticed, your gimbal doesn't stabilize perfectly your walking.
The second video is nice too, probably instead of walking you are riding a bicycle :-). To attach your camera to this gimbal did you use a special plate ?
I have a C Plus. There isn't enough space from the mount to the frame to accommodate the AX700. You have to get an extension plate. The AX53 has the same back dimensions as the AX700.

I use a cable to control the zoom and start/stop.
And I use an external microphone on AX700 (stand in shoemic).
