So I decided to dig a little into who played on this song and John Sykes plays guitar and bowed guitar with Adrian Vandenberg and Dann Huff doing guitar overdubs. Of the musicians involved in the album what can’t be disputed is the impact John Sykes had on the album, not only with his writing (he co-wrote all but one of the tracks), but especially with his playing . Anyway it’s a great song from my early 20s

But seeing Adrian and Vivian miming my guitar parts for like a million people , would’ve made me wanna smash my tv.

John Sykes’s guitar skills made Coverdale famous. Before the 87’ album, whitesnake was nothing and would have remained nothing if Sykes wasnt a guitar genius

@@AudaciousAce1989 and Coverdale’s voice was also damaged by illness in between the day they started recording 87, and the first show they played afterwards. Sykes is a very important person.

I saw Whitesnake live 2X. Once w/ Motley Crue and once with Great White on the White Tour. As much as I love the song from ‘87 (and others), my biggest disappointment was not being able to see the inimitable John Sykes play them.
