I think the 911 Hybrid is gonna be incredible. Remember Porsche’s last performance hybrid? A little number known as the 918? Yeah. This thing will be stupid fast. Gotta say, I’m a fan of the new Good Morning RUclips format of 10-15 minutes. I think that’s the sweet spot for this format. Great fun to watch your dynamic!
I think if companies cared about what car enthusiasts think then we’d still be driving cars they made in the 60s, the people actually buying 911’s will love them, with or without the hybrid
Bingo! But i's mostly the purists that will have issue. Very few companies cater to their base anymore. They are trying to garner (the) new buyers. I think we are rushing the whole EV thing (thanks elon). But that said, starting early and having some growing pains will probably result in a better learning curve in the future (for manufacturers, the consumer will suffer with bad range/expensive/slow to charge/expensive repairs for years, buy hey you can go 0-60 in 3 secs!) EVs are the future, but we are definitely jumping the gun. Anyway, if Porsche doesn't start perusing it now, they will simply be behind in the future, not to mention them getting squashed on the track by EVs. What upsets me more than EVs is when manufacturers started piping engine noise thru the speakers. WTF was that all about!? I think I done now
@@courtney5796 not gonna lie, i kinda like the fake noises through the speakers. It lets me live out my fantasy of having a loud car that sounds cool without being obnoxious and annoying every other car on the road hahahahaah

I have a 17 Carrera and horror of horrors it’s not “naturally aspirated” cause they put twin turbos on (most all) of the 911s after 2016. But evolution is great and I’m sure the hybrid 911 will be done right too.
Apollo 911 is why I started watching Hoovie...and yeah being passed by a Miata would be embarrassing. As a Miata owner, I would be laughing my arse off.
I'll just say... I hope I can find a non-hybrid 911 before I can't afford them anymore. I have a feeling this is going to drive up prices of current models even more.
Show Idea. Let April walk out to drive one of the Hoopties and then get secret interior footage with some drone action of her driving the 911 out and about for about 5 miles and come back to the farm. That could be a cliff hanger too.
My concern is the same concern I have with all of these other hybrids, or any of these newer "high tech" vehicles is how will they be maintained for the long run, 20, 30, 40 plus years from now? We are continuing to move towards more disposable vehicles and at the same time more expensive. As someone who has been into classic cars my entire life (first car was a 72 Challenger I still have) and so I look at new cars and think about how will they fit into the collector car world and restoration world in the future.
There are all sorts of 'beater' 911s out there. I drove one for part of the winter - by choice, of course. That includes driving it in the snow, where it's an absolute riot. People put miles on their Porsches. That's great!
Got a great idea for Hoovie. Take his most hooptie Porsche, make it lifted, diesel, with big pipes to "blow coal", and make it look like something Isaac Hayes' character would've driven in Escape from New York. 😅 Then drive it round to Porsche events.
I wonder if they will name it the "King Tiger VK.4501Edition." If you know, you know (IYKYK) 🤣[Mark Felton Productions - Rarest Tiger Tank - The Porsche Tiger]
I’d rather have a hybrid than a turbo. The turbo hurts the motor with increased pressure and heat while the electric motor helps take some load off the motor and can make it easier to add 4 wheel drive.
I'm ok with the 911 being a hybrid as long as it retains the characteristics of the 911 like a flat 6 and the continual evolution design. It's when it's due to come full ev bs in that it will be ruined and no longer be the car we've all dreamed of owning. I've been saving for years and building up my career and the damn things are higher than ever, a base 992 is still almost 100 grand out of warranty at a used car lot even the 991.2 are up there still. Truly bonkers on the new one pricing once you hit S or GTS with a few options now.
So they are making a new 911 with performance that you won't be able to appreciate except on a race track, and it won't be servicable by anyone other than Porsche?
Ferrari have done it with the LaFerrari, then the SF90 and 296. People complain at the news of a hybrid Ferrari, but when the cars actually come out everyone's mind is blown and you don't hear complaints anymore. Same thing with the Revuelto. The car's great! Regular people will do what regular people do best: complain about change. The majority of people complaining about this can't afford a 911 anyway. And Porsche will surely do what Porsche does best: make the 911 better than ever. Imagine a hybrid Turbo S that will very likely have 1000+ bhp stock and will probably beat both the SF90 and the Revuelto
April and Hoovie, hybrid drive isnt as wrong or modern as you think. Take anything industral. Hydraulic drive motors? That is hybrid. Diesel electric? Hybrid. Been around and in regular use for a century now. There is no reason to dislike it. What is weak point of current drive? Transmission. Off and on power curve. Is why need 10 speed to keep efficient. A good hybrid means can run always in that efficient zone. No range anxiety and far more cost effective on the battery part.
First, the new hybrid will have an available REAL 3 pedal manual transmission. Second, it will have electronic controls on the turbo eliminating turbo lag completely. And lastly, Porsche purists went more bonkers when they announced they were going to work with VW and Audi to expand into the sedan and SUV market. So not to worry, the 911 will be fine.
Mark my words, the C8 ZR1 is going to be a small turbo hybrid. The Z06 already has FWD hubs like the E-Ray. Add a small turbo and a more powerful E-Ray style system and it would be an absolute weapon on the track/streets. It’s the direction to go for absolute performance.
A RUclips creator Home Built By Jeff purchased a disaster Porsche Boxster and when the engine died he put an Audi engine in it and it seems to be a better fit than the LS.
Well the 992s should be worth more for those who buy GT3, GT3RSs, Turbo S's and S/Ts. But you can just trust Porsche with this. They made the 918 and thats a hybrid so they know what they are doing.
