First off...another beautiful flower arrangement by Mrs. H. Second off...a nice Sunday shave. I appreciate that you chose to use the Ming Shi blade. Oftentimes reviewers choose to use their favorite blades when testing a new razor. I'm just as interested to know what reviewers think about the blades that are supplied with the razor. Like you, they can always have a backup blade handy just in case. BTW, you need to know that I'm not normal because I grew to like the scent of Dickinson's (my go-to) witch hazel. It's the real stuff because it contains the requisite alcohol content and the price is right. Have a great rest of the week.
For the last two weeks, I've been using my 1965 Slim Adjustable (which had belonged to one of my uncles) and my newly purchased 1971 Super 109 Adjustable, both on setting 5 and I've had such great smooth shaves. Today was the 109 with Wholly Kaw Merchant of Tobacco shaving soap and aftershave.
Hi Paul- Great shave; thank you! Nice gear for the mid-week shave. Lovely arrangement of roses from Mrs H; thank you, as always! Speaking of roses, TOBS makes a nice, rose-scented soap that you might enjoy trying. I think Thayers also still makes a rose-scented witch hazel, too. Have a great rest of the week. See you on Sunday for the weekend shave. All the best, Paul!
Good evening Paul! Love those roses, thank you Mrs. H!! Being a Williams soap fan, I am intrigued by this mentholated cream. I do use a lot of vintage Williams with outstanding results. SOTD: 1958 Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed loaded with a 1970 Personna 74 blade (16th use). Fine Accoutrements Santal Absolut shaving soap, face lathered with a Simpsons Cubby 2 synthetic brush. Finished with Thayer's AF SF skin toner and PAA Diver Down aftershave. A great shave overall. Nice shave Paul. I really look forward to your videos on all your channels. I have been lazy with my comments as of late, but I am viewing them all. Please take care.
Oh I do love the mixing of colors in Mrs H flower display. Very well done! One of the great things in this way of shaving is being able to pick and choose whatever you like for each shave. You can make it always a spontaneous setup if you wish. Take care, regards to Mrs H, Alys and Milly
Thanks a for demonstrating the world of traditional wet shaving needn't be an expensive venture...Well, when I say it needn't be, I wonder how that worked out for every single one of us 🤣 Cheers again and say hello to Mrs.H and thanks again for the floral arrangement🙏🏻
Hi Paul we have gone from one end of the spectrum with the Timeless to the other with the Ming shi. I like that it gives an insight into different razors at all price points and is a big help for anyone trying to decide what to buy and proves you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a decent shave. Keep up the good work and keep well and keep safe. Kind regards to you both and look after those pussycats we lost ours before Christmas big miss.
Nice shave! Beautiful flowers 💐 as always! Can wait spring to start 😌 SOTD: Fine American Blend soap and splash, PAA Ascension Twist Adjustable with a Personna Super Comfort Coated blade, PAA Star Wisp brush, and some Nivea Sensitive Soothing balm. Have a good rest of the week! Steve
Good Morning ☀️ Paul great 👍 shave, wish we could get the Williams in the US. Beautiful arrangement Mrs H roses 🌹 are my favorite flower. Have a wonderful day and be safe.
Recently started wet shaving a few weeks ago and had a few good shaves so far and one where I looked like I'd come second in a knife fight. Already aquired three razors, three brushes, six soaps and maybe a dozen different blades to try. Saving a fortune compared to cartridge razors. not. It's like learning to shave again.
I was surprised to like those blades when I finally used one. Also, that cream is very nice. I quite like it also. The flowers and shaves are always nice.
Great video. The MingShi 3000 is a great travel razor and the blades are surprisingly good, I bought Tros in Thailand 🇹🇭 pre pandemic but it’s all gone 😢 - smells great just wish it lasted longer. Have a great week
Nicely done Paul💈💈 Looks like everything worked as planned, the cream especially was a nice pick. Haven't seen any Williams soap or creams for a long time here, maybe not imported anymore. I have a few Williams shave sticks but no tubes or tubs. The brush is nice but I'm not sold on the razor. Beautiful roses this morning, absolutely stunning, thanks Mrs H. No SOTD today, maybe later in the evening. Great video and shave, well done. Looking for a Rose scented shave product, there's no lack of choices out there. Good luck. Enjoy!
I had the same Ming Shi 3000 razor and it broken first day I had it but still got the blades am going to give them a try thanks Paul have a great day Scott from Scotland .
I didn't have much luck with the Ming Shi razor offerings, both of the 2000 and 3000 razors I had were faulty blade alignment, I get better results from some of the Yaqi and DScosmetic Chinese made razors. Great looking shave though with 3000 you have. TN.Dickinsons witch hazel is readily available in Supermarkets here (Aus) so that's the one I use with some menthol added. 👍👴⭐
Great shave Paul, a good razor the Ming-shi 3000 I will have to dig it out haven’t used it for good wile, I have few of Stirling soaps to pick up but I’m going to spread it out this year and not buy so many it’s an expensive game buying the artisan soaps so I will be looking more towards the budget friendly soaps bit more this year also because their are some I have not tried and I will have to look that aftershave up also 🤣 take care and enjoy the rest of your week 😀👍
yes these very cheap ming shi 3000 razors are great vs the price ( aroung 12 dollar and free shipment from china to mexico ), the nice thing about these razors is that the adjusment from 1 till 4 is still very mild , so for me this is wonderfull , first I bought one a year ago , then a friend who lives in china gave me an other one and since a couple of weeks I bouht one with italian barber ., also the ming shi 2000 copy of the merkur futur are nice machines. regards from mexico robert
I think I only used this for head shaving and found it mild. Maybe I'll try on my face, and maybe have the courage to try those blades, too. BTW I have had a golden Futur for 3 years, I used it for the first time this week. Setting 3, new Gillette green, was a smooth shave, but then burnt for 3 hrs..... One of the closest shaves I have had. Changed blade and did next shave at 2.5; shave was good less irritation.....still debating how to use it best.
The freebie Ming Shi blades l got are not bad l find. ln a slant razor they can really shine, like the TREET "Black Beauties" do in a slant razor. YMMV of course.
Edwin Jagger DE89, Personna Platinum blade, Arko Cool, Sainsbury's Witch hazel, Lidl (Cien) aftershave Balm and Rapport Original EDT. Have a good day mate, no dog bites on your round hopefully.
Shave of the day outlaw. 72 with feather blade goodfellas smile solo soap x bolt aftershave what adjustable de razor with no blade overhang do you recommend Paul Thanks pat
Try to get your hands on a Dusy Men "Kabinett Rasierseife".The soap smells very much like roses and is supposed to perform extremely well (like Tabac Original). It's a hard soap and probably costs just €22 for 500 grams!
This knot is superior in my opinion, far more dense and compact, which works well creating and holding the lather, then giving it back during the shave, also feels great.
I am also not using floral scents , but I have the martin de candre rose and the le pere lucien rose de pushkar , both great soaps, don't see that you are using these two french company products, why is that , since you live in europa a few miles from france , and I live in mexico , thousands of miles away, saludos

I have the exact same shave brush from AP shaves but the only difference is that I have the cashmere synthetic one. One word amazing!! Very soft!!

I recently bought the cheap Palmolive Classic and was amazed at how good it is! So Paul, I believe you that this Williams is definitely very good!
I have just acquired the Ming Shi 3000s. Waiting for the package to arrive from China. Thanks for sharing.

Great shave Paul but after the shave no doubt you will have a better trail scent than coming off the roses.
Nice one Mr H👍
Nice shave

Could a Yaqi 2Band Badger stand next to this knot in your opinion Paul?
This knot is superior in my opinion, far more dense and compact, which works well creating and holding the lather, then giving it back during the shave, also feels great.
Hi Paul , can you give me some suggestions as a person who love merkur futur ?
Ming Shi 2000 is a clone of the Futur, Muhle R41, also aggressive razors.
I remember that razor
Buetyful brush sir
That must be the new generation of Ming Shi 3000, right?
I am also not using floral scents , but I have the martin de candre rose and the le pere lucien rose de pushkar , both great soaps, don't see that you are using these two french company products, why is that , since you live in europa a few miles from france , and I live in mexico , thousands of miles away, saludos
this razor has no click en the adjustments, therefore it moves when i am shaving , not very important but also not very stabil
this man does not shave, he fights with the beard
it's a lost battle, the beard is stubborn
Nice shave
