Was considering the xiaomi as an upgrade to my s22 ultra, but since the s23 ultra is so close and the s22 ultra isn't far behind the s23 ultra, i'll stick with my s22u. Maybe i'll wait for the s24 ultra or xiaomi 14 ultra or pro :P
Xiaomi wins this one a bit, but some I find S23 Ultra better. However. I looked at the prices here. The 23 Ultra I can get for a few hundred euro cheaper than the Xiaomi. After I saw the price the Xiaomi is off the table. 1500 euro. No. There was a time I found 300 to be a lot. Then I had the S10+ for 700 euro. But I find S23Ultra not enough of a camera upgrade compared to S10+. During daytime its inly little better. And nighttime S23U is better but also not that winderful still. And for the 200megapixels I simply am not going to spend the money. The Xiaomi is the accepted point I could go for as a decent upgrade from S10+ in the right fields like nighttime. But 1500 euro, no. So. In other words. I have to wait for another year
The front camera is such a mystery on the 13 ultra. The sensor size seems to be identical between the two (Xiaomi might be a bit bigger at 1/3.2" but S23 Ultra is 1/3.24", but other sources state 1/3.2", Samsung's sensor is the S5K3LU and the Xiaomi OV32C), Xiaomi has a shorter f/stop and higher resolution but yet still takes worse selfie video and photos. Is it the optics? Is it the ISP? Tbh, probably not. It's probably xiaomi's lack of focus on making the processing better.
