A few years back, Victoria Beckham created a stylish scarf neck blouse featuring a voluminous scarf with a front pleat instead of buttons. I remember it came in a lovely beige color and also a script print. Although it was well beyond my budget at the time, now that I’m learning to sew, I’ve added finding a similar sewing pattern to my wish list! 😊
That was a treat! I can’t wait to make one. Thank you so much. Beautiful designs, and just up my street! I’m supposed to be making cushions for my house , but I really want to make one of these. Enjoy Croatia. I used to sail, and race, and after a while realised I didn’t like sailing on a big boat. Would love to try dinghy sailing. Anyway you will love the challenge!
Very enjoyable. Not sure however why all these styles are being called Boho . Most were just classic blouses. Boho being a style that’s usually described as folky, world traveler, a lean away from classic western fashion. Still fun. I liked it.
Lovely selection of blouses. I have made the Liza and the Moria from Wardrobe by me. I loved the Moria and found the Liza a challenging but enjoyable sew. Made the Liza in the wrong fabric - a poly chiffon but it looks amazing.
Hi Gemima. Many thanks for all the research - some great ideas there. I’m sure I came across a smocked blouse recently and bought it. I’ll check my large pattern stash and come back to you if i can remember it. Good luck with the sailing. Diana
I would love to see photos of your sailing experience and all the best for achieving this qualification. What exactly does ‘Boho’ mean or is it short for bohemian.
I just love these blouses with voluminous sleeves and fitted cuffs. I have both of the Viki Sews patterns (Liza and Edwige) you mentioned. I've made the Edwige and just love the sleeve volume and long, slender cuff. I made this in a cotton poplin that was a bit too stiff and will likely remake it in a flowier fabric. For the Liza, I have a beautiful, lightweight linen from Nani Iro. I need to move this up on my To Make list. I've also considered getting the Anna Allen pattern for a piece of Nani Iro double gauze that I've got.
The Poppy blouse by Pattern Scout is fantastic. I’ve made it in voile, lace and a rayon crinkle & always get compliments. The ruffled collar makes it really special, just be sure to really stitch the gathers in place, more than what the pattern directs. The designer also has a hack for a short sleeve option. I do not add the tie at the collar & just stitch up to my preferred neckline plunge depth for a v-neck effect. Really like the Vicki Sews patterns & will check those out. Great collection of designs- thank you for another great video & have a great time sailing! I used to sail years ago & miss slicing thru the water with the wind. Ocean only once, sailed mostly on a big lake in the PNW in the US. Good times indeed.
I made a Sew House 7 Remy Raglan with the gathered sleeve and split neck hack and it has definite boho vibes. I am intrigued by the Liberty Thea pattern, mainly the different sleeve styles.
Good luck with your practical in Croatia. Not sure if this falls into the Boho category but I'm currently cutting out the Nepheline Blouse by Vivian Shao Chen in Liberty Tana Lawn. Finished my Assembly Line Cap Sleeve (not Boho) last week also in Liberty and loved it. Great episode, thanks for all your research. The Liza Blouse might be on my radar.
I made the Fibre Mood Lulu but had real problems with the stand collar which I could not get to fit . Drove me mad!! Loved the sleeves though. There is a new Style Arc pattern with a ruffle collar which I fancy and I have made the Nephaline blouse with the ruffle neck and pleat sleeve detail which I absolutely love. Great round up again. Thank you and good luck with your sailing. 😊 Lynne
I love boho blouses! Great research, thanks for finding the inspiration and the patterns. Tianas closet has a few boho styles. I've made two different versions of the Isla Split Neck Top. The pattern is short sleeved, but I plan on changing it to ling sleeves with a gather cuff using a broderie anglaise. Well, actually, it's 2 thrifted dresses that I cut apart. I also a few Big 4 older patterns that have that boho feel. Please show some pictures of your sailing adventures. How exciting! I love when bloggers share something like that. For me, it's armchair travelling. 😅
Nice pattern suggestions will look some up. I like the roscoe blouse and dress by true bias. I have made the loss and the dress, but for whatever reason, I prefer the blouse and do wear, mine made of eyelet often. I ended up donating my dress.
Lovely vlog thanks so much, Rachael! I’d absolutely love to make the FM Paulette in a Tana Lawn - so pretty without being OTT. Xxx thanks again for all your hard work and inspiration ❤ and good luck with the sailing ⛵️ xx
My favourite boho blouse is the Madswick Raida blouse which has lots of variations with some inspirational styling photographs on the website. It has pintucks, which I consider a boho essential. I’m not usually a Tilly and the Buttons fan but I make an exception for the Marnie blouse which also has lots of variations and lovely pintucks. Continuing my pursuit of pintucks, I am considering the Frux Studio Garden Dress and Top.
Thank you ! I sew my own wardrobe every season as much as I can, I got very inspired by your research! 😊 Looks like Luis XV fashion blouse is coming back! 😅 Love it !
Just back from sailing the Dalmatian coast, it was wonderful. Good luck with your Day Skipper, not an easy qualification to complete. Love all the boho blouses & inspo, thanks so much. ❤
I’ve made the Anna Allen Anthea in a cotton poplin and I love it, but the cotton poplin gives a crisper look than the boho look, I’ll have to try it in a softer fabric. I love the Tilly and the Buttons Marnie that I’ve made in a Swiss Dot and I’m currently making another. I would like to try the Wardrobe by Me Moire now, I’ve never seen that one before, it’s lovely. Thankyou Rachael.
I always enjoy your videos, thanks. The Raida blouse by Madswick has an option for a pleated yoke. Not smocked but a similar vibe. I haven't made it but I'm tempted to.
Great vlog. FYI the Liberty Esther blouse pattern exactly the same as McCalls M7325. Liberty rebadge patterns as others have said. I’ve made the March blouse by Helen’s closet in broderie anglais a lovely boho blouse
I love the Roscoe by True bias. I bought that blue liberty floral and the thea pattern but the shoulder came out very oversized ( never usually an issue for me) Must revisit! Also love the Pauline Alice Reina blouse which ive made a couple of versionof and the Fibremood Tilly
Thank you. I gave made the vali blouse (pattern fantastique) and the Le blouse (atelier brunette). I think they both count as Boho style. I love that liberty blouse with the enormous sleeve. I think that I need to add that yo my list of things to sew
I think the Liberty pattern is a rebadged McCalls pattern. Tbh - you could probably hack a standard blouse pattern to get the effect....cut across the sleeve partway along the arm scye section, add seam allowance, slash and spread the lower sleeve.
I always love your videos! Have you seen Fibre Mood pattern "Hortense'? I downloaded the pattern but have yet to sew it. It has lots of smocking, which is what I loved about it. Lynda Th
I was also underwhelmed with the trends this fall. I am drawn to the boho style, so the very tailored vintage look does not appeal to me. I do think that you picked some very appropriate patterns for the trends.

Esther liberty is the BEST reminder of the 70’s for me. 15:37
14:40 yes, that two-part sleeve!! Lots of ideas about this one. Thanks
11:32 I saw this on Etsy! Remember the background. Gorgeous.

Hi Katherine, thanks for sharing with us! Yes I am sailing right now, it's very exciting!
I have made the Nephaline one blouse and dress and the Anthea blouse and dress 11:31

thanks jennett, thanks for sharing your projects. I will be doing a vlog of my trip soon, its such a beautiful place I have to share it!
The Alma blouse by Clemattise is lovely and the La Blouse from Attelier Brunette is wonderful too. I have made both one in eyelet the other in voile.
Hi Maggi, love the sleeves on the Alma!
Hi, I made the Liza blouse by Viki sews in a pretty blue floral cotton lawn. The pattern was easy to follow and came out beautiful.
Sounds great!
Nice pattern suggestions will look some up. I like the roscoe blouse and dress by true bias. I have made the loss and the dress, but for whatever reason, I prefer the blouse and do wear, mine made of eyelet often. I ended up donating my dress.
I’ve made the scout poppy blouse twice now and I love it, great ideas ✂️🪡🧵
thanks anne

Frux studio top is great

Hi Lynne, that Marnie blouse is really lovely!
Thanks for your video I’m sewing Justine blouse of Apolline Patterns 😉
A lovely visit! Thank you 🪡
I always enjoy your videos, thanks. The Raida blouse by Madswick has an option for a pleated yoke. Not smocked but a similar vibe. I haven't made it but I'm tempted to.
love that yoke! that's one I hadn't seen before

I was thinking that, too! Might have to try it now that I see it mentioned here :).
I bought that oop pattern on Amazon this past April.
@@bodyandsoul17 It's been on my must try list for a while!
Can't wait! Notification on.

Thanks Lynda, I hadn't seen the Hortense, it's really nice!
McCall’s 7284, 7325, and 8285.
