This video was needed! I never had a weight problem in my life. Menopause put 40 pounds on me in 8 years. The information you provided was exactly the regimen I have followed for the past 6 months and I have lost 20 pounds so far. I came to the same conclusions you did: whole foods, stop chronic snacking (but not all snacking, haha!), keep carbs in balance with protein and veggies. I didn't give up carbs but now eat, say, a dessert at mealtime, not by itself. In this way my blood sugar didn't spike. The weight finally came off. Thank you for the video!
First of all, thank you so much for this channel. As a full-blooded American seeing the way you eat and cook really has inspired me to make changes to my own habits. Instead of focusing on large portions of 1 food I’ve been diversifying my meals and having a main protein, always a side salad, and some bread/rice if I need the extra energy. My family normally cooks homemade food, however I always had a problem with eating too fast and too much, then getting hungry very soon after each meal. I now take my time and chew, enjoy all the sensations, and I let my body catch up with my mouth. And second, I’m so jealous because we can’t get raw milk brie, camembert, epoisses, all of the soft cheeses! I’ll have to make a journey to France one day! Thank you!
As an Asian 35 year old male, active, and lift weights for 3x a week, my breakfast consists of 3-4 eggs, with some bacon 2-3 strips sometimes. Lunch unlimited vegetables, my protein is 100-120 grams, rice is 100 grams. Dinner is the same with lunch. No snacking in between.
Sometimes it is not as easy as it seems to be. I avoid all the processed food, do the intermittent fasting 14/10, I implemented your advices about the food… and I lost nothing… I can eat healthy according to the rules and lost nothing, but I put on the weight by even looking at the food… It’s sad and make me feel hopeless. However, I always love to watch your videos which courage me to stay with healthy food and habits anyway. Thank you ❤
Hello, you must have a slow metabolism, probably because you have dieted too much in the past. I recommend that you consult a specialist MD in order to run tests and get a plan to treat this problem. Because if you keep going alone you risk making things worse. Thanks for sharing, have a nice day ☺️
Thank you for the reminders of #1 and #2 I worked really hard at resetting my metabolism and again I’m having a hard time remembering to eat enough. I’m a lacto-vegetarian, so I rely on beans, but they make me feel bloated. I walk 5-10 miles per day and need to remember to eat properly and drink water or I get anemic. XXKLD
Hello. I know it's a controversial ingredient but soy is the only plant that contains complete proteins with all the essential amino acids and it contains 36 grams of proteins per 100 grams. It has been shown to be well absorbed by human whereas proteins from plants are in general badly absorbed (around 50% when meat and eggs are at 100%) So I would suggest substituting beans with soy if you want to remain vegetarian and still have a good protein intake, and not being bloated all the time. Thanks for watching ☺️ Have a nice day
@ Thank you for the great information. I eat soy occasionally, but will reach for it first over beans. I love your recipes that I use for the meat eaters in my family. I usually swap the protein for myself.
Hello, ideally, if you pay attention to your sensations and compose your plates with all the essential nutrients, you should feel the signals of hunger and satiety. But it is not always so easy. Also, I would say that for a woman of normal weight and average height, you should take a normal-sized plate (diameter 17 centimeters) and fill it with about 1/3 to 1/2 vegetables, a bit more than 1/3 meat or fish or eggs and 1/4 remaining starchy foods. Otherwise, you can ask a dietitian to calculate your needs, which are very different from one person to another. This calculation is made according to your age, your height, your weight and your activity level. I hope this can help you a bit. Thanks for watching ☺️ have a nice evening ✨
@ Thank you! That is very helpful and I think the issue is I need to eat less starch more vegetables. I am doing a better job than I thought. I also need to have regular meal times. Have a lovely weekend x
Yes starchy foods are mainly for pure energy as they are made of glucose chains and they turn into glucose (so sugar) once in the body. And sometimes we tend to overeat them as they are good and we eat more than our level of activity and our needs for pure energy (aka fat and glucose). And then once in the body, if you can't use them immediately because you ate too much your liver turns them into fat and sends this fat in your adipose tissue (body fat) to store it for later.
Why don’t you make a list of foods to make for various age groups and abilities. For example a senior alone and a sample menu for several days which could be bought at one shopping trip. From that could start planning a more successful diet.
Hello it's a good idea 💡 not easy to film because there's not such a thing that a plan that fits everyone. In my practice I always plan accordingly to the individual needs of my patients according to their age, height, weight and level of activity) so I would have to be careful in my recommendations. But t I take notes for a future video! Thanks 👍

Good to know I avoid most of these errors but I suspect I both under and over eat and have no idea what a correct portion size for myself should be.

And I forgot a piece of cheese of course (around 30 grams) for calcium and proteins! ☺️

@ that is easy (but I probably should weigh 30gms as I suspect my idea of 30gms is much more🙈)
