    I am a big believer in cleaning and keeping your chain clean and lubricated. I bought a chain master from STG and man it’s a big game changer in maintenance and not getting lubricant all over everything. Maybe try it out $50 worth every penny . I am also a Florida rider ☀️ I do clean, multi purpose lubricant and then lubricant. I myself use a leaf blower to dry my chain off before multi purpose lubricant. I also have chain motion pro chain tool for slack and a chain aligner. Just as your using.

    PSA:
    DO NOT, I repeat, do not put your bike in 1st gear to spin your wheel. This is extremely dangerous and there are plenty of people missing fingers. Let’s not make anymore examples.
    Spin the wheel by hand or roll your bike back and forth if you don’t have a rear stand.

      @@N31LE There is no problem to run the wheel with the engine IF YOU do not come with your hand close to the chain obviously. One friend of mine lost the tip of his finger doing this while cleaning the chain with a rag

    Although this is a fair explanation on chain maintenance, I believe that chain is way too tight if it’s actually 1”. BMW recommends 1.8-2” of slack in the chain while it’s on the side stand. I’d imagine once you take your bike of the rear stand to when you sit on it and put it in gear… it’s gonna be tight AF.
    I think what you’re doing is great, but I’m just sharing my experience; a tight chain will wear out your sprockets fast!

    Being in Florida getting caught in the rain a lot. I have to wash my bike a lot. I bought some Gyeon can coat Q2 ceramic coating for my rims. It’s simple enough spray on a microfiber towel wipe on wipe off. Plus can be used on the whole bike you will also need Gyeon prep spray first to prep before coating.Something maybe for your RUclips channel. I am a car detailed by trade.

      @tiger2q 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@N31LE if that’s the case then that’s false advertising. The whole point of getting the endurance chain is to go without having to do maintenance correct? I also have one more question. How much are the maintenance costs on a S1K if u have to take it to the dealership?

    • @N31LE

      @@tiger2q I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with what BMW says. I don’t know if the chain is maintenance free, I’m simply stating every chain that I own will be cleaned and lubed lol. • @N31LE
      @N31LE  Год назад

      @@agentmartagentmart9122 Wd-40 is considered an all purpose spray. Sure it may be able to degrease and clean your chain, but is it good at keeping it lubricated? And for how long? I use WD quite often, how well does WD really lube whatever you’re spraying it on longer than a few uses before you have to apply more? Now imagine that thing moving around at 1000-14000 rpms. Id rather stick to my chain lube and wax, at the end of the day it’s specifically made to do just that. Last thing I want is a chain wearing out faster than usual or flat out busting off because it didn’t have enough lubrication. Cost of potential damage vs the price difference of the 2, is minimal. WD has too many what if’s for my liking and riding style.

    • @dmail00
      @dmail00 Год назад

      wd40 is excellent to clean but not so good as an oil to stick to the chain, instead use wd40 to clean and some heavier weight gear oil for lube.

  • @desguthrie4061
    @desguthrie4061 8 месяцев назад

    Sorry brother but you are wrong about this from start to finish. You never want to clean your chain with soap or water, this causes your chain to dry out. The correct way is just using the chain cleaner and then just lube your chain. Remember the key to keeping a healthy lubricated chain is by keeping it from being dry. You are killing the o-rings of the chain doing what you are doing. Just a heads up. I have a 2022 and this is my 4th S1000rr. I do 10-16k in miles every year. Also this M chain sucks and they changed mine twice.

    • @N31LE
      @N31LE  8 месяцев назад +1

      The can literally says Chain cleaner on it.. find me where there’s soap in the video 🤣. Look man I’ve been doing this same procedure for about 10 years and have replaced maybe 3 chains over 4 bikes and 50k miles, 3 of those bike I still have. My chains last.. from care. Also maybe you should read up on how to clean a chain in your own time. Make what you just said make sense, chain cleaner and just lube..? What are you washing off the cleaner with? You’re just putting lube ontop of a dirty chain with chain cleaner still on it? It’s not gonna lube anything, the lube will dissolve IN the chain cleaner.. that’s what the chain cleaner is for to strip the chain of dirt, grease and old lube... then you wash all the grime off the chain and lube the clean chain..
