BTW Alea der Bescheidene from Saltatio Mortis is his character, his real name is Jorg Roth. So, yeah, they do all have character names they can use :D Actually, on the Zoom video Tom had the name Angus on his screen.
The 2 Shieldmaides are called Miezen. They are a fixed part of Feuerschwanz and are usually their Stagedancers. The redhead sometimes plays a little harp with them as well. (Like in Hier kommt Alex)

What a cover!! Combination of all the singers and the medieval touch with the zambone... just glorious!!! Way better than the original IMMO.
I was blown away by this when it premiered and have watched it many times since. I saw the interview you did with Hauptmann where he said Hodi had been mastering the powermetal scream. I love how he builds up to it, it's great. And then Angus is like wait, that's good - now I have to go one step further (or in his case, about 10 octaves higher...)

The Bloodhound Gang was pretty huge in Germany with definetely more airtime on major German radiostations than any other german band you reacted to until now. Evil Jared lives in Berlin since more than 15 Year now and even appears on German Television from time to time. I bet even my mom (*1953) will recognise some of their songs.
I saw them on one of my first festivals in '97 in Cologne, with Monster Magnet, Paradise Lost and Rammstein on the same day.
So yeah, they are known outside of NA. 😁
And it was Hauptman's pick same way this one was Hans pick for a cover when each member picked 1

Full disclosure: As far as the covers go, I'm mostly exited about the Dragostea Din Tei cover. Probably the worst guilty pleasure song I've ever loved in my life with an absolutely hilarious official video. Man, do I hope they do a video for this. That song might not be that famous in the U.S. and Canada but it was a huge summer hit here in Europe (in June 2004, the song and it's cover held #1 and #2 positions respectively in the German single charts for 2 weeks, and it was, in one form or the other, basically a #1 hit everywhere).

Bloodhound Gang was known here in Europe for "Here comes Mary" music video doing solid on "alternative music" charts. "Bad touch" went doing rounds on mainstream top 10's. Only one of their videos was limited to after hours here, "Bad touch" was on TV during lunch time.

What all these Reactions have in common is the instant smiling face after 10 seconds into it.
Really good cover, got to agree... better than the original.
But the cover I'm most anxious to listen to is the O-Zone cover. Don't know how famous O-Zone was in North America but the song that Feuerschwanz did a cover was huge, really, really huge in Europe around 2004/2005.
Apparently Saltatio Mortis didn't physically make it to the shoot that day so editors did AMAZING JOB too
I'd already watched it a million times but when they mentioned that on Facebook I had to watch it again to see if I could tell. Alea's only shot from the waist up and he's not in any of the drone shots. But if you don't know, you don't really notice.
His scenes weren't even shot in the same ruined castle

It also seems like Angus will be featured in at least one song on Grailknights upcoming Album.
And like some said before. Saltatio Mortis is the band. The singer is called Alea der Bescheidene (or short Alea).
If you missed it, he is not shown in any of the group shots in this video because he was sick on the they they shot it. He shot everything on a later date IIRC.
While I like the original song very much, I feel like it needed a bit of modern OOMPH. I love especially the instrumental parts.

I really like this cover, it is different enough from the original to stand on its own feet. Definitely one of the best Manowar covers.
But i have to say, Eric Adams is simply untouchable when it comes to vocals. At least up until ~2007 .
Fun Fact: In Germany, literally everyone knows the original tune. Even people who are not into metal at all.
I cannot believe this kids stance on Manowar. Manowar has so many damn good songs! And I also prefer the original to this cover, though the cover was well done.

9:39 With all due respect to Manowar I actually completely agree with you. Feuerschwanz made song into what it should have been always. This cover has at the same time for gritt, more feels pouring throught it, more power, while also upping cheese factor to such ridiculous hights that it actually Just Works for it. Mnowar was always cheese and in a good way, but to me personally they couldn't pull off ENOUGH of cheese to go full circle as in a bit cheesy ok, more cheesy -bad, very cheesy- terrible , super cheesy -fucking amazing. They were on a cheesy meh. not cheesy enough to be bad, but even more not enough to be good. I hope it makes sense.
Plus it also lacks PERFECTLY fitting voices of Melissa and Alea. And well others too.

J.B.O. did a german languaged "cover" of "Roof is on Fire" years ago. It was called "Der Ruf ist im Eimer" (english literal translation: "The reputation is in the bucket.") about having a total bad reputation.. and having fun...

The cover is not bad at all! Sounds epic! but man no one can sing like King Eric, and we can hear the differences and the feeling. And Pedro i know you hear many bands, but believe, many metal we have todays would not be the same without bands like Manowar.

It‘s definitely the best Manowarcover ever, but the original is still better. Because it‘s legendary. Manowar was my first favorite band in my childhood. And Warriors of the world was the best song Manowar put out since years. Just Epic and reminds me so much about my childhood times. So, for me nothing can be better than the original, but this Cover is really great. Love it and put it instantly on my playlist. #EC4ESC 😜

I was a Manowar fan. Once. Those dudes have sadly turned into pathetic, embarrassing parodies of themselves. This cover is respectuful to the original and altogether of much higher quality than the original.
I think to be an unironic Manowar fan one must be either in the last throes of puberty or suffer from emotional underdevelopment. I guess you outgrow them when you become halfway mature/adult…

This is a very cool cover, but I prefer the more serious original.
And Manowar was also absolutely amazing live with also perfect audio. Actually the audio was the best I've ever heard in a concert. Insanely good audio engineers they have.
No idea where this mainstream train came from that they're what you call them. Maybe I care too less about the private lifes of band members or idk. But their songs are very epic battle songs which an serious and epic atmosphere.

I was a manOwar fan once...and i still am after 30 years. and i am neither of those things. i just accept manOwar for what they are. a great metal band that uses cliche themes and anthems to promote positivity and overcoming adversity. nobody can ever be like them which is saying something in the music industry. On the flip side i was a metallica fan once...then they stopped making metal so i found other better things to listen to.
So pretty much this is the channel where everybody more or less want to bash MANOWAR. Why did these guys even do a cover of a MANOWAR song if MANOWAR are worthless? Why did Sabaton cover MANOWAR? And so on. This cover was simply just a cover. Nothing more. Mediocre. In 2005 this song was performed by MANOWAR on the fields at Geiselwind. That was the triumph of steel and nothing else comes close. But of course, you had to be there to understand and of course you were not there.
This is the channel were people are free to have an opinion. Now you may disagree with said opinion and as such you are also free to have yours. Nobody is bashing, some people just have outgrown them, some people never liked them and that is how the cookie crumbles.
@@APREACTS Some people liked them from the beginning and still do. If i remember correctly i heard somewhere that you were at some festival where Manowar cancelled. For reasons known to just a few. I do not know this but i suspect that maybe only one of you have ever seen them live. I suggest you give them another go if you have the chance. I have been around long enough to see all the great bands. When Manowar is at their best it is at another level compared to the rest.

Good cover but nowhere close to the original. Not many feelings can compare to when thousands of brothers and sisters are singing this anthem shoulder by shoulder united at one of the fields of Europe. Under the sign of the hammer.
I don't get this take. Why would you compare a music video to a live performance? Of course, the song, which is designed as a concert anthem, is on a whole different level, when you stand in a crowd of thousands chanting it.
When I compare apples to apples, i.e. this music video to the manowar music video for warriors of the world, this cover is miles ahead. On a live performance, they will probably never reach Manowar, simply because the logistics of getting every singer on here will be very hard and of course Manowar certainly drew bigger crowds at their peak than Feuerschwanz does now.
After listening to the original, I can safely say this cover is WAY better.
So this was it? All the hype for nothing. So i heard it and tomorrow i wont remember it. The song is good of course as it is written by the best metal band ever but why listen to the B-team when the A-team made the original? I will not, if I were a fan of Michael Jackson, prefer Weird Al" Yankovic. So why would anybody prefer this? It´s beyond my understanding.
