Outlast is a psychological horror video game developed and published by Red Barrels for Playstation 4 and PC. In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the "research and charity" branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation, has been operating in strict secrecy... until now. Acting on a tip from an inside source, independent journalist Miles Upshur breaks into the facility, and what he discovers walks a terrifying line between science and religion, nature and something else entirely. Once inside, his only hope of escape lies with the terrible truth at the heart of Mount Massive.

This series has a great balance between the scary factor and a intriguing story, most horror games want to scare the crap out of you but there isn't a reason for it, so this is really refreshing, can't wait for the next part.

I forget where, but somewhere around the beginning of the game it mentions that cellphone reception cut out about a mile away from the asylum, and the protagonist believed it was more likely because of a jammer

If Brad designed a game where you really did go through pairs of pants, I would totally play it! That would be so fun and really lighten up the dark atmosphere of a horror game so you could probably get away with a lot more scares. Just think about having the world's most vicious jump scare and then your next objective is to find new pants. Kudos to you, Brad!

I like how at 10:30 Brad does what other Outlast let's plays have done: harass the guy that spooks at you.
He started out so good and now he's back to his typical Brad-isms, making really bad choices and essentially doing the opposite of what he should do. Also, it seems like he's trying to get the attention of the enemies with the way he acts.

what has me trippin, is that this all started out as a reporter investigating murkoff, now its a whole thing about father martin and shit.
OMG I've been enjoying this series but this episode I keep saying "just go, go!" when he's messing around and just SLOWLY, SLOWLY walking in circles or going in and out of the same room. And why does he keep going up to the guys that are facing a wall or want to be left alone? Again, I think he WANTED monster chases, which is bs since he bragged earlier in the series about being "authentic" and not "exaggerating the scariness of the game." Also, I can't BELIEVE it took him so long to figure out where to go when it was SO obvious. It's like he has no natural instincts when it comes to gaming and that;s his schtick.
Or it could just be his curiosity

Brad's style is more immersion in the game without facecam. I think he likes commenting more and making it fun while showing you what he sees. Everyone has their own style!

I'm binge watching this series to get it over with as quickly as possible (because if I stop, I won't continue, scary shit not for me). As soon as I'm done, I'm watching some old Popeye the Sailor Man and Felix the Cat episodes to relax.
