I'd really like to see a refresh of this thing.
Just watched this again, still very cool. Closest thing nowadays is the Synthstrom Deluge or the Playend Play…. Though they are far more advances]d in alit if ways (which means more learning curve, but the basic stuff is still easy). Great thing about the Deluge is the manufacturer (Synthstrom)just keep adding more and more features to it through firmware… it is an amazing device that just keeps getting better and better.

Great! Love it! This is a new thing and some will get it and some will not. I like a piece by user "Gattobus" particularly. The key is in not letting it repeat too much while you're twiddling one little thing somewhere else; change layers regularly to introduce a new pattern in a varying, dynamic performance.

Actually yes. ;) bought also a MFB503 and a T-resonator from jomox last week. Even cooler now when programming beats with the tenori. ;)
Very cool instrument and video… But I think the lights would drive me crazy after a while… But maybe that’s just due to the video refresh rate.

Ppl here are making very stupid comments. This thing is awsome. Icant beleive ppl are judging this by its sound, hook this to a real synth or an top drum machine, its gonna rock! Getting one this week!

Whats your point?? of course its a musical instrument.. a musical instrument is a device created or adapted for the purpose of making musical sounds. In principle, any object that produces sound can serve as a musical instrument-it is through purpose that the object becomes a musical instrument.. i suppose early man when using sticks and stones to make sound was not using musical instruments.. stupid comment dude :(

Sry dude, i have to buy some new stuff. Hehe. Maybe in a near future. Lol. Yeah , just starting in the analog domain, and i have to say that its really not the same. Ok my virus C and lets say my ER-1 make good drum sounds, but when i hit that little bass drum button on my mfb-503, ( wich is analogue except cymbals) it is so much fatter. Really kool. Analog rocks!!

Yeah, it takes years to "master" an instrument. But a zillion people who have "mastered" instruments can't play a lick of music. Would it piss you off if someone used this "toy" to create HUGELY better music than you might ever create on your "mastered" instrument? Keep in mind that real possibility. Welcome to the 21st century. Music is music if it resonates positively with a listener. Cavemen banging on hollow logs might have thought pianos and guitars were "toys", had they seen them.

I'm very sorry that Yamaha dragged it's feet on the release of this device. I purchased the iPad app, less attractive and slightly less functional for approx 1% of the cost. It's a lot of fun, and it sounds great. I work with 5 year olds, and they are very proud of the compositions they create. So I use it as a reward for exceptional behaviour. I would argue that at 4/5 years old, they are making much better sounding tracks than my hipster friends. Big ups!

Hum,a kid can't afford hardware and i gat a lot of them. Anyway, I really don't know why i'm replying to ppl like u. Total waste of time. My tenori rocks, making music in a lot of different ways than i use to with "normal" controllers.
This device is absolute crap. Can't believed how ridiculously overpriced it is and how primitive it is. You could do this kind of thing in an iPhone app or laptop app without it costing crazy money... waste of time
