2:44 through the end is my fav. i finally found this again after loosing my old you tube account years ago. this brings back memories i had this as a ring tone like 2 years ago. i loved it
The most amazing thing I have seen in ages. It is interested that people see listen and condemn what they don't understand. (Like discovering Native American Indian.) Offer it to Speilberg, Lucas or Spelling Corps. Good Luck Guys and Gals.
EVA is used in orthotics, fire safe cigarettes(FSC), surfboard and skimboard traction pads, and for the manufacturing of some artificial flowers. It is also used as a clinginess-enhancing additive in plastic wraps, a cold flow improver for diesel fuel and a separater in HEPA filters. EVA can easily be cut from sheets and molded to shape. It is also used to make thermoplastic mouthguards that soften in boiling water for a user specific fit.
god.. everytime I see this thing I gasp. as far as this technology goes, like the microsoft surface table and other related things.. this is by far the most amazing thing ive seen. its just wow.
@Spacekiss80 it is correct that the reactable is based on computer vision. but since the camera is also tracking the fingertips, the surface is therefore also a touch screen.
@aaronm the first public reactable concert was performed in september 2005, and the MS surface was announced in june 2007. although it is correct that the two devices have similar features, the reactable is a mature synthesizer application, while the MS surface is rather a development platform.
wow this has been around for almost ten years and never even heard about it until now... this is phat!! Finally some real innovation! don't understand why this is not widely known I would really love to have one.
I wish people wouldn't just say 'OMG THIS ISN'T MUSIC' - you have no idea what this is supposed to do if you say that. This is so cool, a relaly unbelievable invention.
While I disagree this is a practical solution for music creation, it could be a great educational tool in explaining the inner works of basic synths/effects processing. I love the way all the output is visualised such as the oscillators, LFO waves and binary trance-gate data for example, being sent through from one module to another.
Simplemente Excelente!!!
Imagine if you will a darkened room with a speaker in each corner this instrument in the middle and three or four friends taking turns and cooperating to extract beautiful unique art from it's luminescent awesomeness. Throw in a black light, reactive posters and a little purple pill and you've got a party.
This looks like an idea for a Techno DJ looking for instruments to use at live performances. It looks cooler than a couple turntables, and will let you do a lot more interesting stuff live and in the moment.
the brief interaction with genius that is performed under the sequencer and harmonizer title (2:02) is amazing! Who is that working the table??? Clearly a master of the craft and unalike the hacks on the rest of the videos
i think u gotta build these, ive been looking all over and even on the website theres nothing about buying it i just went to a bjork show and they used this at it! it was incredible
Me encanta!!! Uooooooo!
for those of you that are asking how it works, their site says that its a camera underneath this thing that captures which objects are being placed ontop of the platform. did doesnt get anymore specific than that. sorry
I've had the privilege to meet the inventor of the Reactable in his lab in Barcelona. (S.Jorda) It's a matter of time all of you will be able to play on the market version... He currently has a version ready for Björk. Oh yes, it's addictive...
hey, sounds good :) i have a setup already (with the symbols and the frosted glass and camera and will happily acquire a projector) but, there's not a cat in hell's chance i'd be able to program something so pretty. do you know what this mobile version is called?
That must be one of the COOLEST THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN, sound/music-vice :D Again another video that made me absolutely amazed by the tecnology we have.. Hell, where's the flying cars and cyborgs? :D
This would be perfect on an iPad!! Actually, any of these virtual synths like Reason would be great for it. The more space you have the better, of course
very cool idea, i hope some musicians get their hands on it and make real music, and that it developes into something able to do such. but this is absolutely, if at the very least, the first step. great idea
really fucking great idea ! this take live performances to another level.. I could imagine creating music with a friend using this model. The demo shows already MANY different possibilities.. awesome!
IMPORTANT NOTE: reacTIVision is the computer vision sensor component of the reacTable project. The reacTable synthesizer and its visual feedback component are not available for public use, and there are no plans to publish this software at the moment!
I saw a demo of this at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, and the woman who was giving the presentation made a more hip hop sounding beat with it. It didn't even have that electric sound to it.
how do the little game pieces make sounds if "These objects are passive without any sensors or actuators" this is what the website claims but gives no information on where the sounds are actually generated from.
Saw this thing in action when I saw Bjork at the BDO yesterday (probably the same as Joedonut) and have been wanting to find out what it is. Simply insane piece of tech!
Alright guys, come on... it's been almost two years since this video was posted. Please, make this software public! you wrote it at university - surely you must be well into the idea of open source software... :) or at the very LEAST put it on CD and start selling it! In all honesty, this is the one piece of software I would be perfectly happy to part with my hard earned cash for. It's beautiful. It's been sitting behind locked doors for 2 years now - that's useless to everybody.
That is one cool big round touch sensitive screen you got as a table to play on. They don't sell screens like that off the shelf every day. Wow, what a toy.
In the hands of a skilled DJ, this could lead to some amazing beats. Quicker, more efficient, and more easily manipulated than a synthesizer. But how easy will it be to cut your tracks to vinyl I wonder?
hey i'm not talking about individual limitations i'm talking only about the context...all i'm saying is that now there are more possibilities to create music than before
Does anyone know how much one of these costs? I went to their website and couldn't find any price info. It's probably not even for sale, I'm just curious because I want one of these someday.
This has GOT to be
the coolest thing
I have ever seen
in my whole life.
2:44 through the end is my fav. i finally found this again after loosing my old you tube account years ago. this brings back memories i had this as a ring tone like 2 years ago. i loved it
Same here doggy
@@mymicrowave insane how I only remembered this video 17 years later, brings back memories
This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen on the internet. No tech-geek gadget or device to date can compare to this.
the last minute is AMAZING
i would pay good money to see a master of this thing at work
Fantastic!! I hope these are produced for us all to enjoy soon. I want one yesterday!! Great piece!!

This is so inspiring. I particularly like the sequencer & harmoniser

Well, you can also use it to perform electronic music in a really awesome-looking way. So it would be great for live shows.
This LITERALLY put me in a state of shock....
Thing is ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!!
hell yeah i want one!!! imagine the possibilities!!! house, dubstep, DnB, hip hop etc....wow!
I need one of those...
Seriously, THE coolest thing I have ever seen.

Brings 'electronica' to a whole new level.

i love what it does - it does seem to point to the future, and there is also Microsoft Surface (with perspective pixel)
YOU'RE IN MY MUSICVLOG THIS WEEK!
this thing will changes lives-- please make available ASAP and perhaps for cheap
This is all I would do all day if I had one. omg....
This might be the coolest thing I have ever seen.
This is the future of music!!
WOH! that's insane! It's like something out of a futuristic science fiction film. That will be the instrument of the future to master. Mark my words.
So, how is it going now?
@@fatimaal-junaid2187 not too well 😆
Hear the Reactable live at Music Tech Fest on Saturday 19th May, at Ravensbourne!
It's free to attend!
This is so awesome!! however it's just a different way of making the same old sounds?

Great! I think thats is the begining of the new era of synths interfaces...
70's Mini-Korg meets 808. I'm stoked!
i think u gotta build these, ive been looking all over and even on the website theres nothing about buying it
i just went to a bjork show and they used this at it! it was incredible
Impresionante. Gran trabajo chicos. Un gran sintetizador :o. Pagaría por tener uno.
esto es lo maximo!
bien hecho...
les deso mucho exito con el ReacTable :)
Me encanta!!!
Uooooooo!
Oh Lord!! What's that?! That's immoral! BEAUTIFUL! Loved it...
semplicemente grandioso, lo voglio all'istante!
The most brilliant and intuitive synth interface I've ever seen... I wonder if Eno has one yet?
for those of you that are asking how it works, their site says that its a camera underneath this thing that captures which objects are being placed ontop of the platform. did doesnt get anymore specific than that. sorry
Not really, the Ipod touch is based on touchscreen as u say, but this is based on vision and patron recognition, look for reacTIVision.
Amazing Tech.
If ur into recording like Pro Tools or whatever DAW u use. This is a great way to learn SIGNAL FLOW.

Bjork had this on her last tour. Once again she is waaaaaay ahead of the curve!
@smilingjeffpc you can build them with the light aswell. just use a projector.. thats what mine has
The company's website says they are working on a more-or-less retail version, but there is not a set date yet.
hey, sounds good :) i have a setup already (with the symbols and the frosted glass and camera and will happily acquire a projector) but, there's not a cat in hell's chance i'd be able to program something so pretty. do you know what this mobile version is called?
WOW! THAT'S AMAZING!
is not touch sensitive, they have a camera and a projector behind, and they capture "shadows" to interpretate the movements, read the papers
That must be one of the COOLEST THINGS I'VE EVER SEEN, sound/music-vice :D Again another video that made me absolutely amazed by the tecnology we have.. Hell, where's the flying cars and cyborgs? :D
cierto?¿
awesome certainly the future of synthetizers!!
Nice demo. It's good for a show to kids or such.
This would be perfect on an iPad!! Actually, any of these virtual synths like Reason would be great for it. The more space you have the better, of course
This is sick!! What artists are using this beside Björk?
It seems this that allows a more direct control on the sounds, impressive is as if outside something of scf
increíble lo que hicieron!! Muy bueno, mis felicitaciones a los luthiers :)
I WANT ONE soo badly that is awesome and so simple once you get the hang of it.

Amazing new concept of creation!!
I want one of those.. do you know how much productivity can be increased in the use of a tangible desktop?
wow i had never seen this before... coolest thing ever.
This is incredible... can't wait til this is the norm haha :D
Oh my God. What a music!
Could you please post some more music here, please?
I loved it!
A synthesis of audio and visual art...wow.
Is Electric music and Dubstep all the Reactable can do? I ask because I'd like to make some beats people can rap to.
I saw a demo of this at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, and the woman who was giving the presentation made a more hip hop sounding beat with it. It didn't even have that electric sound to it.
how do the little game pieces make sounds if "These objects are passive without any sensors or actuators"

The Future of Elektronic Music :P
Want one, where to get it?!
Will the price be good enough to get me one?
Saw this thing in action when I saw Bjork at the BDO yesterday (probably the same as Joedonut) and have been wanting to find out what it is. Simply insane piece of tech!

wow! this is soo kool... looks like something from the future
Bjork's been using this in a lot of her performances.. there are a few up on RUclips you can see
this thing will change our music-scene, you will see!
I saw it too. got a little bit of footage of it. should i post it for all?
Danke, genau was ich gesucht habe...

this is really cool, i want one now!
I want one of those!!
Awesome!
nice man, were are the artist playing withthis stuff?
HOLY CRAP! That was aweseom.
@TractorTheBassist
it costs about $14K to have one shipped to the states
hey i'm not talking about individual limitations i'm talking only about the context...all i'm saying is that now there are more possibilities to create music than before
wow! That must've been amazing.
i dont know much about this but it is awsome, would be cool to have sum sort of interactive guitar or keyboard display!
that sets up a really cool background, but can it do lead parts?
Does anyone know how much one of these costs? I went to their website and couldn't find any price info. It's probably not even for sale, I'm just curious because I want one of these someday.
Brilliant, just brilliant *jawdrop*
i have played with one of them ..
its awesome .. it was a pleasure
This is incredible!
