Good vid. At about 9:44 you are setting ratchet on a step but then trying to set the probability to 50 pct, you might notice the ratcheted step continues to play every time around. I think i read this yesterday (just got my S-1 and trying to get to grips with it) - ratcheting takes precedence rather than being available in combination, so if you have set it on a step the probability for that step is ignored and treated as 100.
Brilliant insight into the S1 thank you 👌☮
great content, have you considering adding time stamps?
Added! Thank you for reminding us to step up this part of our game!
Great demo, got one of these the other day can't wait to get creating with it, couldn't agree more with your sentiment at the end 😃
Thank you! Please share some of your work with us!
@@midichlorian73 I have some stuff up my my channel but nothing with the S1 yet still figuring it out, sounds amazing though, can't wait to record with it.
Thank you so much for not using the presets. I am going to get an S-1 this week and I have watched most of the YT videos. The first thing I will do is delete all the presets as they now cause a psychological glitch in my brain when I hear them :D as I have been forced to listen to the presets way too much in S-1 demos. I actually like learning gear from scratch so a clean system is a great way to discover what it can do. Great video.
Can it work with synch start? Can S-1 work/synch with Roland SP404 Mark II?
What happens to sync if you change the tempo while running both device?
You can tempo sync to other devices
As I understand you can make 4 patterns on S-1, can you switch them on the fly? Or chain them?
Deseando que me llegue la próxima semana para juntarla con la T8
Bring the behringer new stuff , that Is worth the money
Is it possible to program sequence changes to create a song? Or even trigger different sequences on the fly?
The online manual is actually quite thorough, but yes; there is both standard pattern-chaining & on the fly sequence modification, as well as full MIDI Program Change & preset assignment.
I wonder if the MIDI connections (type A or B?) are compatible with Arturia's Keystep... which would be a nice complement to this.
Once you have the sequencer playing(not recording), can you improvise on top of the sequence? (as long as you don't exceed the 4 voice limit)
Good question. MIDI is type A and over USB C. You would need a type A adapter to standard 5 pin to work with the Keystep, unless communicating via USB. You can definitely play over the top as long as the voices aren't taxed.
Arturia uses the other type to Roland but you just need a converter plug, easy to come by...
Once a sequence is started, is it possible to transpose it in real time using the keyboard? e.g sequence starts with root note in C and by pressing F key, sequence is transposed up 5 semitones? The way sequencers like the SC Pro One used to work?
Yes you can
@@swantons1119 Doesnt work for me. Once I start the sequence it carries on in the same key with no way to transpose it. Its the same with the T-8 bass part, and also with the Roland Boutiques. Even the most basic Arturia keysteps allow for realtime key transposition. Such a missed opportunity that Roland dont provide this feature on their sequencers. What a shame.
Thanks for making this video. And your other content. But, I've noticed a habit. Very often (twice in this video), you'll say "I'm going to quit talking" .... but you don't. It's OK to have video content with both narrative and sound demonstration. I don't think many people must have only one or the other. But, you are priming the viewing audience with one expectation and not delivering -- at least when you say you will. 🙂 Thanks again for your efforts and content.
Where is Zach these days?
Thanks for sharing , the manual is not nearly as clearly explained as this vid
Thank you for commenting and glad that we could provide a bit of help!
copy of a copy
Awful demo..
This video does not deliver on what the titles promises. I don't care about the TR-06
Probability did not work though. Not 'ok' for a tutorial I'd say 🥸
Ack! I just realized that while watching the video. The 50% threshold fired 100% of the time... whoops!
