How to Get Into Land Clearing Baumalight Mulcher

- The PTO tractor Forestry Mulcher is paying for itself and allowing us to work at our own pace when the weather permits. Now that the leaves are off the trees, we can see how to build our trails. During the summer, the foliage is so thick that it is hard to make trails. The TYM T474 is a perfect match for this mulcher.

Tony…. Great video! I watch you channel religiously and well as rockhill farm and Good Works Tractor….. couple comments…. What you have here is not an extreme forestry mulcher and shouldn’t be marketed as such, your pto clutch on the unit needs to be adjusted so it won’t stop the tractor engine, definitely need eye and head protection and need to install an expanded metal screen on the ropes when In use to save your life from thrown debris or serious injury….. I’ve been around heavy farming and heavy industrial equipment for 41 years and it’s not “If it will happen to you”. But…. “when it will happen to you”. Love the channel.. in fact I’m a neighbor down in cedar grove, Tn. In Carroll county.
Thank you for all your thoughts. Each person has a level of risk they accept. I appreciate you
I agree with Gene and at 80 yrs. old I've seen a bit too. I've had 1 knee two hips replaced so I understand the kneeling down my friend on one of your previous videos. A pto clutch will be a must have if you are going to do this long term, if not you will pay the price later. Great videos
This got our hunting club fired up with what we could do
I agree! This thing would be awesome for a hunting club.
Ain't nothing like a good old-fashioned safety brief to set one's heart of glow I love it keep up the good work
I hear you.My wife will get too close trying to get a video.
Hi! Mate I really hope you all had a great Christmas and a new year my friend all the love to you all and God bless you in the future in 2023! Take care of yourself. Love your videos as always wish I could come and visit you all!!!
God Bless you too, my friend. Happy New Year
Happy new year friend. God bless you all this year 🙏😊👍
God Bless you too. Happy New Year
Great video Tony. Those chains made a world of difference. They really should be standard equipment.
I don't disagree with you.
Another great video to start the new year. Tonja really does a good job with the camera and Gismo does his part as well what ever that is, just one happy family. looks like the chain thing is doing a good job of keeping all the trash away from under the tractor. Looking forward to your next video. God bless you and have a great day. MC.
Happy new year! I love using the mulcher. It saves so much time.
Always enjoy watching what ever your doing! HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL! GOD BLESS!
Happy new year!
God Bless
The things I could do with that at Piney Grove!! Good vid, Tony. Happy New Year to you and Tonja! 🎆
Happy new year! Good times this year.
Hey Tony, glad to see you added those chains. A lot of things on underside / backside of TYM tractors that could get damaged from flying debris coming in from behind. I have a T554 and a T574 and think fuel tank would be particularly vulnerable in this scenario. Great job and love the fact you seem to be living your best life. Happy new years...
The angle of the front side makes highly unlikely anything will be thrown more than 12" vertical height. Still, the chains really slowed everything down.
I really liked the camera up on the roll bar there at the end. It made it feel like I was right there riding along the new trail.
Keep up the good work tractor work is always so much fun
I truly appreciate you input. If you like it, many people like it. Thank you.
Blessings to you and your family. Happy new year brother. Band of brothers and sisters 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Happy New Year

Happy New Year, Tanya, Tony, and Gizmo! 🎉🎊👍😊
Happy New Year!
Enjoyed this video Tony and Tanja. Happy New Year from North Carolina.
Happy New Year. Thank you
Nice action to start the year Tony. That chain system should as you say contain the material for a finer mulch.
Yes it does! I look forward to finishing my trails this spring.
Safety first Tony great video thanks and thank you Tanya great camera work
All fingers accounted for. LOL! Fun day
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Happy New Year Stan. God Bless

Great machine. You may want to wear safety glasses while using it. A previous coworker lost an eye while brush hogging when a stick took out his eye. I keep safety glasses in my tractor toolbox all the time.
Thank you for caring.
Happy New Year to both of you Sir 👍👍👌👌😇😇✨✨🚀🚀Outstanding True Live Demos Sir 👌👍💪🧐 OUTSTANDING Camera Views Cheers 🧐👍👌✨🚀🍻
Happy new year! We are loving this mulcher.
Mulcher abuse! Happy New Year!
I love this thing. Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you Chief and your “crew”. I am a tractor and equipment “idiot”, but insufficient land to justify the expense. My “big” tractor is an old MF 35 and the RK 25 is too small to handle that piece of equipment. Just sayin. Late fall early winter of 2021 I did have a 90 HP skid steer with a mulcher clean up my river flats. I could have done it in a week or less, he did it better in 3 hrs! Best $500 in a long time. I need an intervention on tractor buying! I promised myself I would quit buying when over 500 miles away! If I take the short way the last one is only 489 miles one way. A sick puppy I guess? Best to you and Tanja.
Great video Tony, I just have one question. How does that mulcher do on old tree stumps? I have about eight pines we took out about 6 years back most of them were 70 to 80ft and the stumps are rotting but 2 to 3ft across and about 1 to 2ft tall, so how well does she do on such debris?
Watch my last video. It explains your question perfectly.
For going in reverse that thing is spinning in the Wrong Direction . Granted Stuff is flying all over in Either Direction . but if it were turning in the other direction you just keep pushing the pile along and it will just keep grinding and spreading out the Chaff..
I understand what you are saying, but it is turning the same way as all of them. If it were turning the other direction, it would launch stuff in the air like a rocket. That is an unacceptable risk for any manufacture. Some guy walking alongside the job site and 50 pound piece of wood pops him in the head.
Tony, how would that work on a non-hydrostatic tractor? I have a Ford 3910. It is not hydrostatic.
I don't think it would work well.
I have loads of iron wood trees on my property, could thing handle them?
Yes, it will. I was surprised that it seemed to do better on ironwood than it does. Hickory. Green 2-in small hickory is tough on this machine. It works but you just have to let it chew.
I would have enjoyed the video more if it would have been me doing the work
I told my wife today. "I would be out here every day grinding stumps if I could!" It's my happy place.
Would the "hammer" blades be better for the job......???? The blades you have are for small trees and grass.......
This is not a flail mower. It is a mulcher with solid replaceable carbide cutters.
What grapple are you using?
The link is in the video description. I get asked a lot.
What is the horse power of your tractor?
We have three tractors ranging from 25 horsepower to 48 hp. If memory serves, the tractor in this video is 48 horsepower.
What hp tractor and which model mulcher
Are those rubber hoses rubbing against a turning drive shaft?
It'll be all right
I think this is one piece of equipment that I don’t want anything to do with. I couldn’t spend all of the time looking backwards on the tractor and worrying about overloading the cutter drum. Frustration would set in quick if I had to constantly back off to let the RPMs catch up and restart the engine. Sorry but I don’t think this attachment is for this ole Mississippi boy.
I understand, turning around may cause someone with neck injury or fatness problems, but farmers have been looking back for years. I am fairly plump and it doesn't bother me. Even the biggest skid steer mulcher has to spool up and down. I bet you would be a lot less frustrated with this set up if all you had before was an axe, rake, and gloves. Honestly, there is nothing else on the market to match this for a small land owner. Anything else that would do this job will cost 100k.
What model would be best to use on a 60hp White 2-60 4x4 540 pto?
I only recommend a HST transmission tractor.
Well, since I don't have a high falutin hydrostat 60hp tractor, then what?
Get safety gear
Thank you for caring.
I've watched what a heavy skid steer can do with a mulcher attachment on my property and it was impressive...This appears to be extremely slow and limited, not to mention pretty tough on the tractor...I believe I could move quicker with a chain saw and just a front end loader with brush forks.....just an opinion...
Anytime you want to put your chainsaw up against this mulcher, let me know.
