Released by Hollywood Film Enterprises, this short film from 1944 looks at what Hollywood has to offer for tourists. It begins by looking at the different film studios and famous sights along Hollywood Boulevard. It then looks at different entertainment options including theaters, nightclubs, and dining options. There is also a detour to the various churches in Hollywood along with the Universities present there. It concludes with some footage of actors playing golf, followed by a look at some glamourous homes of actors.

This would have to be 1944, as the Woody Woodpecker drawing at 3:26 represented his current cartoon, "The Beach Nut" (with Wally Walrus).
Thanks as always Barry!
You're welcome!
Possibly, but the number of cars and the models look like it could be closer to 1940 or pre-war 1941; possibly right at the end of the war. There are no ration stickers on the vehicles, and a civilian DC-3 was offloading passengers (commercial travel was shut down during the war except for very limited situations).
When Hollywood was magical. No more.
You got that right!
On Hollywood was clean no garbage on the street no overcrowding of cars and the sidewalk didn’t smell like pee all the time . In Hollywood Boulevard didn’t look like a shanty town.
Simpler Times ‼️🇺🇲📽️🎥📹🎞️🎬
Fascinating ❤
Looks like 1946, as a theatre marquee seen in one shot advertises "Cornered," starring Dick Powell, which was released at the very end of 1945. This was probably shot with 16mm "home movie" cameras running at 16 fps, as some scenes show people walking unnaturally fast. It may also have been filmed in Kodachrome color, though I'm not aware of any color release prints out there. Kodachrome prints were very expensive, and few hobbyists could afford them, though rental libraries did buy some cartoons and travelogues in Kodachrome.
Thanks Jeff we appreciate you and thanks for the comment!

❤❤❤❤❤
That's blonde starlet Myrna Dell at 9:34 and gorgeous Adele Jergens with Bob Hope at 9:50.
Hollywood boulevard does not look like that anymore 😞😢….sometimes looks like TJ or Las Vegas strip😢
You're risking your life walking down Hollywood Blvd. at night. That area is a danger zone now.
You risk your life waling anywhere in So Cal.
You’re risking your life when you live on planet earth.
Don't listen people. Hollywood Blvd is as safe as it's ever been. The shady years were early to mid 90s when businesses closed. Now, thanks to Highland and Hollywood complex it is booming and safe.
@@donaldthomas9389 No it isn’t..
@@donaldthomas9389 By your decree, I'm sure.
There were only 4 or 5 bums in Hollywood back then .
Now everyone is trying to leave California due to the ruling liberal policies
J'espère qu' ont voit laurel et Hardy les rois du rires.
Sinon je garde pas le document sur Hollywood.
"Booming business and enterprise"....
I wonder what they would say about your state NOW Mr. Newsome?
They would say that CA has the 5th largest economy in the world
had
Nuisance is his name
Not worth it, it's mostly about the movie studios, not LA
The title is Weekend In Hollywood and the RUclips title says movie studios. Why were you expecting it to be about LA?
If I went to Hollywood my last point of interest would be a church. But then again many folks are super religious.
