    One trick I learned when moving my bike is this... put it in gear and use the clutch lever as your brake. It works like a charm instead of trying to reach over and using the front brake. Also, those clutch covers... people have been finding that the stupid foam is retaining moisture, and seems to be collecting debris and eating away at the actual clutch housing. I would definitely take it off, and if you don't have big frame crash guards up top, you could always pick up an R&G cover or another one.

      All good tips. And yea even AP workshops released a video about these plastic covers and the foam in them.

    Unfortunate for the drop, but it happens. After over 30 years on bikes it still happens to me on the odd occasion. It's only been a small few times over the last several decades, but I feel a little dumber each time lol. Still, it's inevitable.
    Bike is still looking sweet! That little love bite adds character.

      Thanks for sharing your woes! Makes me feel better to know I'm not the only ones that makes mistakes like this after having bikes for so long.
      Speed safely as well! 🙂✌️

    Hope the racerdays was a good time. I'm hoping to make one of those soon. Just bought my first suit and hope to ride Laguna for my first track day in the future. Can only imagine how good the Tuono will feel on track.

      Definitely sign up for the one at Laguna next year! Racer Days there would be incredible.
      Congrats on the suit btw! Great step towards track time 🙂

    Yeah I dropped my Versys 650 once… Was running my mouth and thought the kickstand was down and it wasn’t when I got off the bike and literally just let it drop in front of a group of other riders… I felt like the village idiot president!
    So what is involved in tightening the shift shaft? It’s a shame and a sham the shift shaft shows shakiness and shuddering…glad you got it to the shop and shrewdly shored it up without having to shoulder sh*t…🤪

      Thanks for sharing, at least no one was around when I dropped mine I guess 😅
      I have no idea! Might have had to get behind the clutch? That's where the shaft runs to on my Daytona.

    The exhaust can be buffed out, had this happen to my Ducati, I can send you before and after pictures. Metal polish (Mothers), red and black scotch pads with 800 and 1000 wet sand paper. Sorry about the sad news but I’m sure it will all get back in shape!

    • @hiimchad
      @hiimchad  2 года назад

      Thanks! Was your exhaust titanium? I'd be surprised if this could be buffed out. It scratched the SC Project laser-etched logo as well.

    • @belo-moto
      @belo-moto 2 года назад

      @@hiimchad It was! Not much you can do about the laser-etched logo but with some pressure and sanding, then polishing with fine wool pads (+metal polish compound) I was able to get mine out. Deep scratches might be reduced but not fully buffed out. Light scratches should basically level out. It is a lot of work and elbow grease, titanium isn't really a friendly material to work with.

    Do you think that the quick shifter part you replaced in a previous video was still necessary? Would have the tightening of the shift shaft fixed this issue of the missed shifts?

    • @hiimchad
      @hiimchad  2 года назад

      In hindsight, it may not have been. Time will tell if the weird cruise control/ fuel cut issue rears its ugly head again!

    Couple of months ago while in too much of a hurry I was putting my 2019 Tuono RR on a rear stand so I could lube the chain. The bike begin the lean right and I lost control of it and it slammed on to the garage floor on the right side.😢. it felt like a nightmare in slow motion but luckily it seems the front brake lever was the only casualty. Felt like a total idiot for days afterward and sort of sick to my stomach. So I kind of get how you feel and I’m a hell of a lot more careful with my bike now!

      A nightmare in slow motion describes my incident perfectly! Sorry to hear about your bike, but at least we've both booked it for our Tuonos. 🥲

    Sorry to hear bout the drop. I'd be sick, but at least minimal damage. What u going to replace the sc project with?

    • @hiimchad
      @hiimchad  2 года назад

      I was sick for a few days afterwards for sure! I do have a couple in mind. Probably either an SC Project Race Oval, SC-1R, or a Graves like I had on my Tuono RR.

      I'm not sure what the costs are like for the 660s, but Moto Club does have a service center so I would ask them for an estimate.

    Does anyone out there have oil burning issues like I do? I have a 2019 Tuono RR with 4500 miles on it. I just added a half a quart of oil after 800 miles. Previous to that after my 600 mile service I got about 12 to 1500 miles before the oil light came on and it was a entire quart low. I called the dealer and they tell me it’s normal. 🤷‍♂️
