    You guys did an awesome job saving that shark! You really did “fair dinkum” ! But seriously, it’s so fabulous that you all reached out to save this creature when it surely would’ve died. We need more people like you.

    What is the red stuff in the water? At first, I thought it was the shark's blood, but as the video went on, there was too much of it. Is it algae? Surprised to see a shark in tassie waters. I presumed the water would be too cold. Good on you blokes for helping the shark out.

    Why is the water that color, could it be a sign of a red tide? I'm not sure but once he got out of there he was doing better. That was a pretty big GW shark. When they are turned upsidedown the go into a tatonic state, that is how the Killer (Dolfin) Whale, kills them. The killer whale is not a whale but it is the largest member of the dolfin family. Thanks!

      Prince Ricker it was caught in a net and my guess is the color of the water is due to mud at the shores edge....it became clear just a bit further out.

    There seems to be footage of two sharks spliced together here (not sure why). The shark in difficulty at the start is definitely a Thresher (note the huge tail fin with distinctive 'diamond' tip). The footage at the end, around 8:00 mins in, shows a Great White without question (note the distinct white underside and pointed snout). More importantly, note the fact that the tail fin doesn't even break the surface as it is much shorter than the first shark - just compare their sizes to the dorsal fins. If the second shark WAS the first shark, it's tail fin would still be cutting the surface despite the dorsal tip only just showing.
    In short, shark 1: Thresher, shark 2: Great White.
    Still great footage!

      pursuit 82 No need to be so rude. After watching the footage again, I have to admit I was wrong. It IS a Great White. I can now see the white at the lower ends of the tail and the distinctive wide caudal keel as the shark thrashes about. Everyone can make a mistake and today this was mine! Great White it is...

    • @deepakehtskan4518

      It's an algal bloom, sometimes called red tide. It occurs in hot spells, and when water begin s to become anoxic (deoxygenated). Incredibly dangerous to marine life for two reasons: it physically suffocates them through coating the gills; and removes oxygen from the water.
      The lack of oxygen makes the shark dopey and restricts oxygen flow to the brain, resulting lethargy, poor decisions, and it prevents the flight instinct from getting the shark (or any animal) out of danger.
      The red tide makes everything dopey, that why the,shark wasn't moving. As soon as it was in clear water it was fine, and clearly was thinking again, which is why it came back to assess and observe the humans that helped it.
      That beauty will now trust humans, sadly.

    I always thought a study should be done on humans why if you move people from Britian to Australia do they talking like that? It's bizarre when you think about it.

    • @bendigorider1799
      @bendigorider1799 8 лет назад +1

      I'm an Australian and my best guess as to why we talk the way we do is . 1> It's a blend of how aboriginals speak
      2> believe it or not if you spend a lot of time in the bush and you open your mouth too much a fly will go straight down it. I live in a city so the problem in cities isn't so bad but when I go out the bush I try not to open my mouth too much, seriously you can easily swallow 4 or five flies in about half an hour. So if you wan't to try having an Australian accent hold your nose while speaking and don't open you mouth much. A word which is modified by Australians is "how" in full Aussie mode we say ow. I think the h was dropped because that's the point at which the fly flew into your mouth. So "how are you" is "ow are ya". BTW we run our words together with little or no breaks. It's even confused me when I got my first job my boss said "didjahavacanacoke" . I had to have him repeat it 4 times before I understood him , "Did You Have A Can of Coke".
