There's one execution missing. The variant of the Facelants that we can find in Two Moons and in the new snowy area has its own execution. The downside is that you’ll almost always kill them before you can stun them, but I uploaded a video on Reddit of this execution. It's actually been in the game since last year, but as I said, it's very rare to stun this variant.
Thanks for the heads up! I just checked out the video and you're right, I think I tried to stun them but didn't get one (and it's always frustrating when you get the stun and then continue a combo). I'll make a note to get that recorded and added if/when new DLC comes out and adds more executions. I'll be sure to add in the description that you made me aware of it.
@@CrankyTemplari'm not talking about the 'flagellants'; those shirtless, red-hooded guys you face at the beginning of the game have a stronger variant with a golden hood, and when they hit, a column of blood .with spikes Well, they have their own unique execution, unlike the weaker version that only has the typical spiked arm execution
Yeah, I did try to stun the stronger ones in the icy area but had no luck. I had to use an early game file to stun the bird lady as she died too fast with endgame stuff so possibly I can try to get that file to Two Moons or the new area without upgrades to keep my damage low in hopes of a stun.
It will never not be funny to me that in this game inspired by religious iconography in whichs Worldbuilding a society exists, that holds religious virtues and concepts such as Penitence and Piety above all else, and here we play as the chosen Chap who is to rid the people of the afflictions and he just goes and slaughters and butcheres people everywhere he goes and does so in the most graphic and unnecessarily grotesque way possible The Miracle truly does work in mysterious ways
If you didn't notice, everything in the game has inverted meaning. Inversion of the iconography in Christianity is generally seen as blasphemy. The first hint of it is in first game's cinematic, you get to see a person begging the Miracle to "shape her guilt once again", creating Mea Culpa sword. People in game are not praying to absolve them from sin, but for more guilt and more sin. Hence why the game is called "Blasphemous" and why you get to see people turned into monsters.
The Miracle is only a force. The High Wills that used it are not God, and never were. They were brought into being by the false faith of the Cvstodians. The Penitent One serves God. And was revived by him to remove the High Wills in the first game, and to kill the child of the High Wills in the second game.
@CrankyTemplar you a legend, I've been waiting to see the new executions online since I probably missed some. There still aren't any guides posted on the DLC like the new collectibles or how to unlock the new ending, even tho you just need to get the mea culpa. Thanks for this!
@@CrankyTemplarbtw, I think you missed the golden flagellant, he has a unique execution animation. I thought that executions would've been easier to pull off with the true torment update considering that the stir of dawn did the same with blasphemous 1 by having charged or dash attacks stun enemies
@@penitentestudios1492 Another fellow mentioned I missed that fellow too (seems my attempts to stun them didn't work so I just thought they couldn't be and moved on). Whenever I get around to trying True Torment I'll try to get a file to the later areas without boosting damage so that hopefully all the stun altarpieces allow me to get that execution if/when more DLC comes out since they seem to add executions with DLC. Much appreciated for the heads up though!
Thank God they fixed the boring blasphemous 2 ones. Kind of coming around to the view that the first game is just better, the atmosphere felt way more dark and brutal, partly because of the cutscene style that they shouldn't have dropped.
I think 2 is starting to be less lopsided with more unique executions added in Mea Culpa. I guess we'll have to see if additional DLC brings it closer to the first game. Though to be fair the first game also had executions added through DLCs.
Totally, and the executions aren't the focus of the game so it's obviously going to be much lower priority. So if no more get added that's fine but it's always nice to see what new stuff they do add.
I'm not 100% sure since I installed Mea Culpa from the get-go. It's possible the enemies that no longer use the generic execution were updated without Mea Culpa but I can't say whether that's true.
I honestly like to have diferent weapons though. However i initially thought Mea Culpa "evolved" and was able to reshape itself into diferent weapons for the user to adapt better to diferent situations but that was not the case.
0:21 rly feels like the old times
Headcanon; Penitent One is especially vicious towards more annoying enemies.
0:39 Okay this one's actually funny
0:42 The Penitent is not cruel to animals.
I like how it ties to the fact that same owls tear this hag apart during their usual death animation
the based one
"here you go dude"
"De nada" *flies away*
New executions look a lot like glory kills from DOOM.
And glory kills look like executions from Duke Nukem.

If i remember correctly they aren't people but monsters created by the Miracle from the giant burning tree

The owl lady execution made me actually laugh. I wasn’t sure how they were gonna top her gruesome death animation.
Finally glory kills become glorius
