In this video I go through the different considerations for building a PC for 3d modeling and rendering. Graphics Cards, Ram, Power Supplies, etc. Whether you use Redshift/Octane or Standard/Physical Renderer you will see what parts I would consider for 2 different budgets ($1500 & $3000)

Coming from the Mac world, buying a pc is super daunting. Thanks for breaking down all the components. This was super helpful as always!
Glad I could help!
Great video, very comprehensive!
Thank you!
Your the best! 🤠
Thanks!
Coming back to this video to say that I used CyperpowerPC for my new machine based on this video and had a good experience. Thanks for the recommendation!
Great to hear!
thanks for the video! i'm thinking about buying the Notebook Gamer Predator Helios 300 PH315-54-70LH to use while i travel, what do you think?
I think it would probably be pretty solid. With laptops, its not just the GPU that matters but how many watts it is able to use.
Thanks for the in-depth explanation.
Question - I want to purchase a workstation for 3D modeling in C4D and basic simulations using Houdini. Buying a PC isn't an option for me - do you think a laptop would be fit for such use case considering they can get hot and thermal throttle pretty quickly...I'm really confused and would appreciate some insights! TIA!
If you say a desktop isn't an option, that pretty much only leaves a laptop. Just make sure what parts of a computer Houdini uses for simulations.
