Thanks, Thomas! For a WeGlide story it is easier to take pictures with a camera or a smartphone. The timestamp of the photo will be associated to the flight track automatically. When I record videos I can make screenshots of the footage but the timestamp is not accurate or not available. The workload for me to record a video story, comment some parts of the flight and -focus on flying- is already at my personal limit. That was Fantastic! You're at a party and you tell the ladies and guys that you just flew over the Alps in a glider have a look. That's a great intro line.😎
Very interesting, I just recognized the tower at 5:57 and found out that it's also a "Horchturm" (reconnaisance tower) which was constructed during the Cold War. The first time I saw one was at the shores of the Baltic sea.
I am just looking into the glider (and for the future perhaps PPL) scene, and this looks so cool! I have absolutely no experience with flying, itself but played a lot of simulators and a study related to aerospace. How do the systems run? Is there just a battery inside the glider or does it uses something to charge?
I started with gliding and didn't want to make the PPL training. For me it is boring to just fly steight and spend a fortune for the fuel/ overhaul of the engine. 😂 But also to learn the basics of flying before the PPL , gliding is a great choice! The avionics run from two small LiFePO4 batteries with about 10 Ah @12V. For charging you take them out.
I would be so terrified what if I don't find the next thermal and there is no airport in range for an emergency landing. Need to have plenty of courage and a positive mindset to be sure to find a thermal to gain altitude and keep ging further out. what stunning views. beautiful
For all of you, I researched more into why they do that. First off, it neither increases or decreases drag. The ratio of drop to forward distance stays the same with water. However, having more weight increases the standard cruising speed. Especially on long flights, it is used to speed up the flight as a whole. The plane will drop faster, but it would be going the same distance as without the extra weight
Wow, what an amazing flight 😊❤ you are a pro in taking advantage and discover every little thermal! Paraglider pilot here, but for sure I could go for a glider as well! 🙏 Thank you for posting this!

I like that yu've preserved he raw experience for us, about flying a Glyder, by not including any soundatrck . Damm the advertises!! Keep Safe!
I must admit I never suspected gliding to be so taxing on the auditory system how do you determine where thermals are located?
You read the shape of the clouds which gives an indication of thermals and their strength
I like engines, but gliders are cool. The whole silence and need to constantly search for termals is amazing.
What a great document of your really impressive trip. Thank you especially for showing also the difficult parts of that flight. It is truly stunning to see how you manage those situations. I wonder if you also linked some footage to weglide so that we can connect the videos to the glide path more extensively.
Also the video editing, creating a thumbnail and publishing of such a video takes me several hours up to one day.
I will need to find a way to speed up this process and also improve my WeGlide story ;)
@@SteFly - I can totally understand that even though I haven't experienced it myself. I only heard from so many other content creators how much effort it takes to create stunning content. For that I am really grateful. I also hope that the effort is rewarding for you as well!
Thank you again! :)
Merhaba Stefan! keyifli video için çok teşekkürler,başarılı uçuş senin ustalığının eseri bravo👌Istanbul'dan Selâm ve sevgiler ; Takip edeceğim!..🇹🇷👏👏👏😊
Man you're living the life right now! Extraordinary scenery!
✌😊👍
You're a GREAT pilot so be proud of that trip. Beautiful Views you shared as well. When you listen to your voice, you can tell when you are a bit distressed. Nice glider too. Thanks for the trip.
Impressionante Stefan! Meus Parabéns from Brazil...
Wonderful Stefan and thank you. What a stunning part of the world and a super privileged experience. Thank you for sharing it with us! Cheers from Australia - Dave
Thanks Dave!
Man that looks beautiful! Looking forward to finally finish my license so i can fly with people with you up there
Thanks mate! All the best for your training!
breathtaking!!! i love this so much, i had no idea the potential of unpowered flight was anything this impressive
Loveeeee people who LIVE🥰 Thanks for taking us along😊🪂💯
That was Fantastic! You're at a party and you tell the ladies and guys that you just flew over the Alps in a glider have a look. That's a great intro line.😎
I don't think ladies are impressed about this 🤣
Thanks!
Thank you very much! Have a great day :)
Top ace pilot to attempt and complete such a mission .. congrats
Thank you so much!
Very interesting, I just recognized the tower at 5:57 and found out that it's also a "Horchturm" (reconnaisance tower) which was constructed during the Cold War. The first time I saw one was at the shores of the Baltic sea.
I did something similar over the Alps more than 25 years ago with Ingo Renner ( great glider champion).
Wow! Amazing! Flight over the mountain ridges is definitely another level.
We call this man for delivery when a apocalypse happen
Я дилетант. Но предполагаю, что большое мастерство пилотирования нужно, чтобы так близко пролетать около снежных гор! Восторг!
But also to learn the basics of flying before the PPL , gliding is a great choice!
The avionics run from two small LiFePO4 batteries with about 10 Ah @12V. For charging you take them out.
Großartig, wunderbare Bilder und auf dem Rückweg noch über's Tannheimer Tal. Danke und allseits Happy Landings!
I feel like I know how to fly a glider from Pilot Wings 64.
The hang-gliding in that game was the best.
I would be so terrified what if I don't find the next thermal and there is no airport in range for an emergency landing. Need to have plenty of courage and a positive mindset to be sure to find a thermal to gain altitude and keep ging further out. what stunning views. beautiful
Wau... rum gekommen.... Bayerwald ziemlich tief.... großes Handwerk....
It was surreal. Simply amazing to see the slow ans serene environment. Appreciated.
Is additional speed the only real benefit that water brings? Or is there another reason for using water ballasts on those long trips of yours?
i think it is for balance
@Vishnu PM aerodynamics? i think you mean less relative drag
Ey, das ist solch wunderschönes footage! Danke Stefan
We never hear about gliders going down…they’ve got to be going down once a month…
Wow, what an amazing flight 😊❤ you are a pro in taking advantage and discover every little thermal! Paraglider pilot here, but for sure I could go for a glider as well! 🙏 Thank you for posting this!

People standing at the top: 👁👄👁
Thank you for sharing your flight with us who havent had the chance! Amazing and beautiful
Distance: 850 km
Fuel consumption : 0
Efficiency: infinite
You can't get thermals at night, so technically not infinite, even if you manage to find winds blowing strong enough...
Ich war so frech, bin eingestiegen und mitgeflogen. Super! Danke!
