    Yay to Endorphin Rift! I am looking forward to comparison of Rift vs Xodus Ultra 2.

    Mine just arrived - 15 miles and 3,000’ vertical later, my legs feel fresh. I really enjoyed the ride of the Rift. Work well on loose rock, slick rock, muddy single-track and buffed dirt/gravel. Lockdown is just superb! Much more stable than the Edge as you point out. Nice-looking but I agree with you that white makes little sense for any trail shoe. Highly recommend.

      +1 on that. I love the xo2.
      This Looks like a flimsier version (sans plate) of the endo edge which I wasted money on that unstable piece of cr*p

    You definitely steered me right with the Xodus Ultra recommendations and am currently loving the Peregrine 13. Really excited to see what your final review is on this one. As someone who rolls their ankles frequently on trails I'm steering clear of the Endorphin Edge.

    To be honest. If you are going to run off road during a British winter all shoes look filthy whatever the colour. I don't even clean mine. Five minutes into the next run they will be filthy again. These shoes look interesting. Although I agree the 4mm lugs may be a problem when ankle deep in January mud.

    Thank you for another good video. I’ve always ran in the peregrine, and I’ve been happy with it, especially the exceptional grip on technical terrain, however, the most recent version 13. For whatever reason, Saucony reversed, the six center arrow lugs in the rear to face forward, rather than they seem back, and I’m finding myself slipping in the heel, when doing descent, even when walking down a trail, it slips, and then catches, which I never experienced in any other peregrine Chue, where the heel arrow lugs, always faced back in the front lugs, always faced forward, which was a really nice secure design. They also flipped the rear arrow lugs on this endorphin rift, but fortunately they left the rear facing arrows on the xodus ultra 2. so I’m now running in that Chue and I don’t have the slippage issues. I tried on the endorphin riff, and I noticed it runs a little smaller, and seems a little higher, and is planted and secure with lateral movements that I find in the peregrine. I guess that’s the problem with cushioned trail shoes. They have to lift your foot up higher, and it’s just not as stable laterally, which could lead to a rolled ankle.

    I'll go contra on the white color - love it! Us trail runners ought to wear mud, blood, and the like, as badges of honor that partially define our sport! Thus, having mud and dirt stand out better on our shoes is something to be proud of! Let the roadies detail their shoes daily. Of course, that is largely in jest, but on bright hot sunny days a white shoe is going to lead to cooler feet and toes, and the opposite for black. So for pure performance considerations; white is best IMO. Great review, here and the Rift long run one too, got the shoe. Hope the forefoot is wide enough for me, and that that paucity of laces up front does not lead to instability as I am a forefoot striker. Cheers.
    .......side note: Rift stack height is now listed as 33/27, where the End. Edge was 35/29. Slightly lower chance of ankle roll straight away.

    It would be interesting to see your thoughts on the New Balance Hierro v7. After searching for a wide Speedgoat I gave up and went with the Hierro. Blown away. Much more comfortable on first try than the Peregrine I tried in the local running shop too.

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  Год назад +1

      To be fair, the Hierro v7 is going to feel more comfortable than a Peregrine because its a deeply cushioned trail shoe so it hard to compare them? 🤔

    Been running in Altra LPs and Saucony peregrine 10s for a very long time…0 drop and 4 drop. I tried the new Saucony Xodus 2 recently (6 drop). Wow, my lower legs never hurt so bad. Every time I run in them my lower legs feel broken the next day. All I can come up with is the drop. So I went back to the LPs and peregrine 10s…no issues. Went back to Xodus 2 and again the next day was in terrible pain. Am
    I that use to low drop? 6 drop isn’t even that high but I guess it’s enough that my body is not having it. Luckily for me I still have 3 pairs of the peregrine 10s in the box! Also, LP 6 was my favorite version and I have a few pairs of them still in the box.

      I got a pair, the clear rubber that goes around the base of the upper and connects to the midsole started delaminating almost immediately. At first it seemed just cosmetic but then the midsole started peeling off the outsole. Only in one shoe. Returned them for a refund, I think I just got a bad one. Loved the shoes otherwise

    • @Run4Adventure
      @Run4Adventure  Год назад +4

      I'm not saying these instead of the Xodus Ultra Richard? I'd say the biggest differences are the upper and the fact that the Rift has a full PWRRUN PB midsole, where's as the Xodus has a core of PWRRUN PB. Because of this the Rift does feel a bit bouncier underfoot and a bit more responsive than the Xodus. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 🙏😊
