Avengers vs X-Men is a true masterpiece!!
This is so daunting and confusing for the average person trying to get into comics tbh.
not really.
Dan-The-Man try the channel comicsexplained.
@Mark Nicholson - Thank you!
Dan-The-Man np, he's the best imo. His marvel playlists should be just what you're looking for, and rob himself is just great.
Dan-The-Man Start with the comics of the 60s and go from there. You'll be fine
Secret wars was the one that got me into comics, so it will always be one of my favorite storyline of all time
That was my first comic book too!
I enjoyed it so much.
I’m hoping the mcu version is gonna reboot everything
_Maximum Carnage_ should have had a bigger impact on the Marvel world. It could have lead to wide-spread hatred of villains and major criminals. Basically it would have been the government's reaction during Civil War except directed only at the baddies.
Captain Mar-Vel wasn't a shape shifter, The Skrulls , the enemies of his people The Kree is .
Awesome WatchMojo Video.
Thanks
WatchMojo.com Keep it coming.
Also X-men's messiah trilogy (messiah complex, messiah war, and second coming). Introduced Hope Summers, and had many mutant deaths/mutilations
Is AvX really that good? I dismissed it as another useless annual Marvel event. They started to run that trend into the ground after Secret Invasion.
Yes! Thank you for highlighting Annihilation Conquest. That whole event line (Annihilation--->Annihilation Conquest--->War of Kings--->Realm of Kings--->The Thanos Imperative) is superb, but sadly not too popular. It really changed the status quo for a lot of the Marvel cosmic characters, and even helped to bring the Inhumans to the forefront of the Marvel universe.
House of M is one of the best Marvel events in the past 2 decades. The fact that its effects are still shaping the Marvel universe 12 years later says a lot.
Civil War is amazing. I understand why some people don't like it (mostly because of some characters acting against their type, specifically Iron Man). However, because of the tragedy that starts the whole event, I think it'd be understandable why every character would be on edge and do some unpredictable things.
Secret Wars (2015). I love this story. I love almost everything about it. At its core, its a story about Doctor Doom and Reed Richards, with the stakes raised to the absolute maximum. I loved that because of the premise, a lot of the tie-ins had interesting concepts (even if sometimes executed poorly). I love that the artwork was done by Esad Ribic. Like I said, I just love this story.
Yes, but they forgot to mention the Incursions that led to the "Secret Wars" (2015) event.
Even if its been a year from the comment I'm curious about your thoughts now xD
Ah robert downey jr , he makes any movie enjoyable
Lets not forget the huge impact Civil War had starting with Captains Assassination
Civil War II was not a sequel for Civil War.
The original Civil War comics killed off many heroes and villains, like Captain America himself. Civil War II took place after Secret Wars.
Plus many readers, and myself, would argue that Civil War II wasn't the actual Civil War, but Secret Empire was.
In the 1984 Secret Wars, Spider-Man got himself a new black suit, but after the suit turned out to be an alien symbiote and his nearly killing someone, he rejected the suit which bonded with Eddie Brock to become Spider-Man's deadliest enemy, Venom.
Good list...thanks for sharing
These comics are historical in Marvel’s library
KeLion Pro thats the only good comcis they wrote lol
+barry 234 all DC has ever managed to make are generic superhero battle stories. No stories with deeper meanings or real world parallels other than The Dark.Knight Returnd
Geek Trek Beyond your kidding right, read any other dc comics, you dont know shit
Because its disney and Fox
KeLion Pro YES!!!!!!!!
A Spider-Man 2099 movie would be dope 👌💯
imagine in the year 2099 ill be dead by then but still lmao
He'll be in the Spider-Verse sequel in 2022!!!!!
what about:
-secret wars (the original) (introduction of the black suit)
-Spider-Man One More day (spiderman's continuity hasn't changed since)
-Siege (destruction of Asgard, death of Loki & Sentry, Norman Osborn's fall from grace, registration act ends)
-days of future past
Days of Future Past didn't actually change the marvel universe
The og Secret Wars didn't have that much of an impact than the ones listed in the video
Thomas Zulli didn't Marvel pay comic book stores to tear the covers of 50 Blackest Night event books and they'll get Siege in exchange?
Awesome clip
Okay, I understand why Age of Apocalypse is cool, but I still don't think it should have beaten the Dark Phoenix Saga. Not only did that saga kill of Jean Grey, but it also introduced the hugely popular Phoenix Force, as well as the first time the X-Men battled an iconic alien species, the Shi'ar. I felt like that was waayy more changing than Apocalypse.
Awesome 🙌
No love for the Onslaught story arc that created the Ultimate Marvel Universe?
I now this is a old coment but I agree onslaught was awsome and it affect the marvel universe
Captain Marvel or (Mar-Vell)was never a shape shifter. He's a Kree - not a Skrull. He fought the Skrulls. He did come to Earth as a spy for the Kree. He gets trapped in the Negative Zone. Rick Jones finds the Negabands and they switch places for years until they find a way to free themselves. But that's the closest Mar-Vell ever comes to shape shifting.
This is really awesome
I speak of the Marvel Universe itself and not specifically the MCU or FOX but my top 5 favorite movies are
SOLO-
1. Logan
2. Iron Man
3. Doctor Strange
4. Captain America: Winter Soldier
5. Deadpool
TEAM
1. The Avengers
2. X-Men: Days of Future Past
3. X-Men: United
4. Civil War
5. Guardians of the Galaxy
Frank Castle Awesome lists!
Frank Castle why are you telling us this?
Wow I commented on the wrong video. Supposed to be comicbookcast...sorry
Jack Verey I think the real question is how he has 4 million subs but no vids 😐
Civil War is better than Days of future past in my opinion.
I love Marvel Universe, so complex!!
Like - Comics
Comment - Movies & Shows
New School Ranker hmm
Comics are lovely (except most of Marvel's recents) and the movies are great (except for some of Marvel's and most of DC's)
Ok
Why not both?
New School Ranker hail hydra
So Secret Wars was basically Marvel's "Crisis on Infinite Earths"
Cavik96 True.
what I was thinking, Marvel was like, how do we simplify our multiverse? Lets pull a DC lol
lol really ???
Yes
Another disgraceful move by modern Marvel, to copy DC, the whore of a company that reboots its entire universe every time their sales are lacking. There´s no bigger insult for longtime readers
I love this video
Hail hydra
Mike Awesome HAIL HYDRA!
Mike Awesome Hail Hydra
*fist in the air
Hail hydration
All hail Hydra
HAIL HYDRA
Some of my predictions: Secret Wars, Civil War, maybe Civil War II? Anyway, Infinity Gauntlet/War, and House of M too.
Onslaught. Multiple characters (Avengers, Fantastic Four, etc) spent a whole year dead to the primary universe and in an alternate one as a consequence of this event. Shame it wasn't mentioned.
I need to catch up on my marvel and dc comics!!! So many important and memorable stories out there!!!
Cool!
Literally none of these events, except for AVX and Secret Wars, had no lasting change. Civil War and House of M's change aren't even felt today. AVX's change is somewhat felt with the resurgence of mutants. Secret Wars is the only one with changes that will permanently last with the rearranging to the multi-verse.
I am trying to get into comics do i read comics ahout certain characters or do i just start reading the events
Basically everything eventually goes back to normal in comics...
Holy shit some this was mindblowing I wish I had some of these comic books
I went to a party in Vegas last night and it didn't go so well ......
They should make a movie about house of M. Don't know how they would pitch it in the current plot but that would be sick
Totally called House of M (one fallout of which not mentioned was the canonical creation of my favorite super hero, Wiccan) and Civil War, though I did expect The Secret Invasion on here.
Would like a World War Hulk mention but great list all in all.
Spider-Man Maximum Carnage should be on this
Age of apocalypse is one of my favorite stories of all time.
Wasn't the first graphic novel with Black Panther?
*clicks on a watchmojo video posted 1s ago, sees it already has 4 views* *me* "How the fuck ?"
Punisher is my fav
Mike,dude your gay af
i do
Hi love your content
Some of these storylines had consequences but then were completely forgotten
#5 is still #1 in my books. This just because of what the gauntlet can do. Next year......the unimaginable power will return.........as he will court Death with it.
Funny how storylines that changed the DC universe are more dark and creepy
Captain America's Hail Hydra turn was awesome, as he was brainwashed!
Do one for dc.
Is more difficult with them, those guys have a lot of reboots at their backs.
Gabriel Duran does not matter, they did one for marvel who cant write for shit
Gabriel Duran there's only been like 3 fucking reboots😑, and no rebirth is not a reboot
barry 234 Marvel who can't write for shit is only recent, don't high and might when DC was a mess for 4 years until last year rebirth reboot.
King Merck 3 is still a lot, rebirth is a soft reboot also known as a retcon,😒
do top 10 comic book betrayal
Which Marvel comic/story is the one where the comic cover shows Iron Man's helmet and Captain America's shield (I think it was broken) and like, eight villain legs and feet standing over them. I think it was a major crossover event, but I can't remember what it was called. Anyone know what it is?
When Groot sacrificed himself and became the dancing baby Groot we all love in the GOTG movies.
I can't wait for Marvel studio to adapt the secret war storyline as a movie
I hated Civil War. It brought One More Day into existence.
Secret Wars 1984 superior Secret Wars 2015 inferior.🤞🏽
Are you talking from the nostalgic side? Because the original was ok for that time, but the 2015 version has one of the longest build ups for a massive event, reminds me of infinite crisis of DC.
Marvel got rid of the Fantastic Four and booted the ANADM line and introduced trash caricters like RiRi Whilams/Iorn Heart and the good awful Civil War II. How can you say it's the greatest marvel story line the greatest Marvel story ever told is Marvels. #IkePearlmuterMustDie

10)The Ultimates(2002)
Do you agree with my list, fuck WatchMojo.😜
What is being valued here is the degree of changes brought by the events, I agree with you in that point about iron heart not just replacing war machine but iron man himself(not to mention that lately whenever they show tony anywhere they show him with an older version of his suit to give the idea that he is old news and Riri is the new big deal, which is kind of stupid and disrespectful to fans). But the fantastic four was a team that just needed some rest and the shit war II was not secret wars's fault but Brian michael bendis's and the rest of marvel's greedy men in suits just because they wanted to profit even more from the movie of captain america: civil war(which by the way qualifies more as a street fight than as a proper war but ok marvel, if you think about it is not even related at anything that had happened in the secret wars. If I was you I would be more concerned about their idea of centering the universe in the younger(and more stupid) characters that they have been creating lately, again just because the movies are going to do just the same.
I saw that Transformers 1985 reference
YES IM HERE BEFORE 1K VIEWS YAY :D
At 5:02 who else thought that Joey from Yugioh joined Marvel after the events of that series
where did the timestaqmps go
Nearly twenty years later, Galactus would receive a worthy counterpart in the form of
Unicron: The Monster Planet.
can we make a huge honorable tribute to stan lee BEFORE he dies? unlike every single other celebrity death thats ever occurred
Before watching, I am sure the first Civil War is #1
Chidubem Modilim #2
Waiting for the trailer of Infinity War!!!!
Will you do the same for DC comics????
I'm surprised that old man Logan isn't on this list.
Can you do Millarworld
Pliss watchmojo i like to see ever after high vs descendants
Earth prime. I wonder where they got that name?
DC originally named their World New Earth but they now call it Prime Earth. In DC's Multiverse one of their other universe was originally call Earth Prime (similar to Marvel's Earth Prime) but now its called Earth 33
Not even a mention of Onslaught....smh
Reupload?
No Onslaught? Which led into the heroes reborn storyline?
Did you say they were called.... Phallics?
Dane Otto Phalanx
Notice the lack of reference to the Inhumans (because they're lame). More X-Men titles!
Storylines I hope gets adapted in the MCU:
DARK PHOENIX SAGA
ANNIHILATION: CONQUEST
GALACTUS TRILOGY
Original Sin should become a series of movies. Also .....why no mention of Original Sin???
I hope he last one does not become the last movies ending for the MCU highly doubt it but imagine a ending like that
2:28 wait how come alien shapeshifter can die from Earth's disease that isn't contagious type?
How come Siege isn’t included in the list?
lots of heroes create confusions
I don’t know. AXIS Was pretty narrative changing. Age of Ultron was bad, but I guess it got reverted in the end
Do the crow vs the joker
So it's completely impossible for someone new to start reading since the story is all over the place.
Mason Santana thats why they keep coming up with universe reboots and alternate world lines. For a new reader you wanna start with marvel 616 and work your way back at your own discretion. Or just follow your fav groups/characters. I suggest checking out comics explained. He has loads of videos and playlists that will save you a lot of trouble.
missing "Acts of Vengeance""
The Civil war has upset the Marvel universe but also Avengers vs X Men
Im honestly curious why Secret Invasion didnt end up here
What about Secret Empire?
In the original Secret Wars comics the Beyonder was the one who ruled over the world and not Dr. Doom
i feel as if anything that has to do with rebooting the entire universe is just one big way of saying that the writers messed up the plot and want to start over.
Scarlett Witch's biggest story is Flashpoint... lol.
know that your actions comes with consequences
Secret wars is a masterpiece
No matter what the ultimate universe is my favorite
#1 the death of the coffee grounds
Secret Wars sucked. Some compare it to Crisis on Infinite Earths, except that comic arc was able to keep the main plot in one book, where as secret wars stretched it out into too many comics at one time to the point of not being able to follow if you just read the main comic
I would think Marvel's first Civil War .And the House of M as defying moments in the Marvel Universe ,As.well the Infinity Gantlet as another major moment for Marvel Universe .Last but lest the first Secret Wars (1985) storyline .But I would bet they all are on the list .
Since when was captain marvel (who is a Kree) a shapeshifter? Wouldn't that be a Skrull trait?
Umm that Fantastic Four clip at the beginning isn't from 1967. You messed up mojo
11
secret wars 1984 should be on this list
