When you think about it, a lot of royals have really bad destinies too. They sleep for a hundred years (Briar), get abused (Ashlyn), get kidnapped (Rosabella), get locked in towers isolated from soicety (Holly), etc. So Raven and the other kids of villains rebelling against the mistreatment they face in their destinies making a lot of the royals realize that their destinies are pretty bad too even if they evetually get happy endings was a really interesting direction for this show to take.
Then there's Duchess who dies in her story, Ashlynn's stepsisters who (in the original story) got blinded and parts of their foot cut off, etc. Also the original Sleeping Beauty got r*ped in the story. But yeah a lot of fairytales are dark in some way
yep plus it makes more sense for the royal/rebel rivalry. i imagine some of the royals are thinking "yah, we get bad stories too and we're still willing to do them so these rebels really are selfish"
They also say in the books that Ashlynn’s mother dying is part of her destiny. Meaning if she were to follow her destiny, she would eventually have to die for her child to take her place. But for Duchess she only gets turned into a swan forever, not killed.

I absolutely love Briar's arc. She is such a cool, likeable and interesting character. Definitely the most interesting take on a sleeping beauty character I have ever seen
Say hello to the Thronecoming special, aka Briar is awesome and is one of the best characters. Also this is what started me actually enjoying Daring, him and Cerise have such a fun dynamic.
I loved daring from that point on too! The epic winter arc, all I cared about was him and rosabella’s plot, because honestly, I didn’t like the epic winter arc, I hated that ice princess bitch and I was on Jackie and north winds side for a bit
Also the reason why Briar found the story book of legends is because the teacher told her that the Evil Queen and Little Red Riding use to room at there dorm back in the day when they were students and thats how she put the pieces together of why there is something glowing underneath her carpet
This arc was what made me love Briar even more. I love the story path they gave her. Rather than being the narcoleptic princess that Aurora, the Disney princess, is usually portrayed in other films, Ever After High spun the tale a bit. And I love it ❤❤❤

They managed to flesh her character out so much in just a few episodes, explaining everything about her then adding a dilemma that gave her so much deoth
I think where Apple is at at this point is basically "I still want Raven to sign, but I understand now that it should be her choice, and while I still really hope she comes around to it, I want her to make that choice on her own rather than being manipulated into it."
I don't think it would've hit apple as hard if it was ravens story. Apple knows raven would need to poison her or do evil things and she didn't mind it. It wouldn't bother her to do that to someone else because she has the mindset that it's worth it. Apple was closer to briar so it would feel more personal to her. Especially after telling briar "we all have our parts to play". By going into briars story she got to have that realization that she might lose everything. Even if it was just for that moment after pricking her finger and realizing what she did.
I don't think the "bad" side of Raven's story was there It was only the moment after poisoning "Apple" so basically she would have just stood there and did nothing since the action was already done choosing Briar's makes more sense since the action hasn't happened yet so she can actually feel what it's like to have no choice in your own story
I actually really liked it because a big part of this arc was the fact that some royals were seeing that they didn’t really want their ‘destinies’ (Briar). Like Briar said, Apple didn’t understand how she was feeling. Apple feeling that panic now, knowing she couldn’t do anything but also the realisation of ‘Oh, my friend saved me.’ Was hopefully the pushed she needed to be like ‘But what if she hadn’t been? I would’ve been stuck’- opening critical thinking for her. I also love that Briar, seeing Apple poisoned and probably the aftermath, helped her understand Raven and why Raven made the choice in the first place to not sign

Daring Charming isn't ALL bad. They show a bit more of his deeply buried inner goodness in a smaller episode featuring Lizzie Hearts, and he gets...slight character development in Epic Winter. Sadly the series got cancelled before they could deeply explore the aftermath of the twist in Dragon Games. So much potential character development we'll never get to see, SMH.
Honestly Daring does have his good points. He is vain and pompous but he also take his job of being a helpful, rescuing knight in shining armor very seriously. He's got a lot of potential to be a real hero, once he learns how to be humble.

It is a spoiler but you can only find this lore from the San Diego Comic Con Raven Queen Doll (yes, there is hidden lore that you can only find in exclusive dolls. I wasn't going to just accept that I must live out the rest of my days alone and reviled. But then something unexpected happened. Okay, so let me get this straight the evil queen ravens. Mum didn’t want to be evil but ended up being evil and then didn’t want Raven to be evil but then wanted her to be evil. How does that make sense? I don’t understand
Don’t believe it’s outright stated in the show, but the girl in the mirror who appeared behind Giles is Brooke Page, daughter of the narrators! She’ll have a bigger role later on as a voice like her parents.
This isn't in the show but Apple has had issues with deviating from her story in the past. It started because she was born blond and not with black hair so she was put under a bunch if pressure to conform. And more importantly the last time she tried to go against her story she almost died.
She also wears glasses, which no perfect princess should. You only get her backstory in the books, and it makes her an understandable character. Love the video tho
My personal theory is that the magic sustaining this fairy tale world has been trying to throw a wrench in the Destiny system for a while now. Dean Grimm acts as though the world would completely implode if even a single person deviated from their assigned path, but the thing is that while their society does in a way depend on the Destiny system, the world itself doesn't, and the magic powering it is frankly quite bored of revisiting the same tired old fairy tales over and over and over again. Why else would it make Apple blonde with "imperfect" eyesight? Why else would it give Raven both humility and a conscience? Why would it allow for Cerise and Ramona to exist? Why would it allow the O'Hair twin mix-up? I get the feeling it wants to shake things up.
9:29 by the laws of the ACTUAL Sleeping Beauty fairytale, everyone that wasn't within the castle was when the good fairies cast the spell so they would fall asleep with the princess... Everyone outside of the castle, aka the rest of the world, kept moving on without the people inside of the castle with the princess.... so yeah the rest of the world dies and keeps going, unless the entirety of the main characters in ever after high come together when Briar's curse is gonna come true.
And don't forget about all the briar roses that grew up around the castle. They killed any knight who tried to rescue Sleeping Beauty before the 100 years were up.

something that is in the books that is not shown in the show is that part of apple's motivation to sign for her story is that the one time her life deviated from its fated path she almost died, so i think that explains her character a bit more to me! i dont like her as much as the next person but i can understand all the royals pov, even if i disagree

The girl in the mirror at 25:31 is the narrators daughter she appear in the generic, she the girl who has her face on the key to reflected who she is and her importance later on in the show, look a the wiki if you want more information about her
No joke, I think Thronecoming was the best episode/special this show ever made. It dramatically changed the character and status quo but did so in an extremely organic way. Everything the characters do here feel like natural evolutions of their characters, characters which had been developed across the webisodes for years by that point. Like Thronecoming took a one note party girl like Briar and have her *depth* and it wasn't out of nowhere, it feel like a totally understandable and natural evolution of her character born out of this world where one must either accept or reject their destiny. Later EAH specials will dramatically change the status quo and do crazy things but none of them ever felt as organic as Thronecoming. That's because those later specials were clearly made to advertise a new line of dolls so they introduced a new concept/characters out of nowhere just to sell some toys. As a result, the later developments and status quo changes felt somewhat jarring, random, and sudden. But that's not what Thronecoming was, it was excellently built up to and didn't need a random gimmick like dragons or wonderland to be amazing. It was a special built entirely on substance and organic development and that's why it has the most satisfying and quality writing of the entire EAH franchise.
theres a lot of the story and important parts in the webisodes too tho, it's also important to watch them to know whats going on. like now, Matthew skipped a few webisodes and now he doesn't know who holly and poppy are lol
I thought this was a great story arc for briar and ever after high in general. It shows how even tho they were outwardly criticizing Raven for her actions, there are probably some royals who internally struggle with the reality of actually taking on their story but don't have the courage to deviate from it like Raven or other rebels would. Now with that said Briar throwing the book down the well was definitely petty LOL.
Briar's arc was a big surprise the first time I watched it and it is a very good one. Also I was aware that Cupid appeared from nowhere in the hall but I still laugh when she appears. Really EAH has so much great characters like Raven, Briar, Madeline, Cedar, Ashlynn or Cerise. Can we talk about the fact that Cerise is like if Edward and Jacob merged ?

Briar was more true to why she didn't want to sign-because she would loose her friends. Apple wasn't really like fully heart there about her friends being the reason but because she didn't know how theirs stories played out. After she was in briars story she started understanding why her best friend felt how she felt. I think that pushed her to start understanding raven and her decision

Also I’d highly suggest going back and watching the few episodes you skipped over as I think it introduces the twins. Another fun fact is that the winner of Thronecoming has different versions! Aww, I think poor Mathew's brain exploded at three times during this one! A scene where Daring isn't a pompous ass, a scene where Apple White supports Raven whole-heartedly, and a scene showing just how far Headmaster Grimm would go to keep everyone Lawful. I don't think it's a spoiler to tell you that the two girls who got the magical hairbrushes are Holly and Poppy - the twin daughters of Rapunzel. (And man, kudos to the creators for acknowledging that dark part of the original Rapunzel story!)

The headmaster being happy his brother was free and Jiles forgiving him always baffled me, he locked him up for a reason that he clearly still believes so wouldn't he be like 'no get back in the basement, you spread dangerous ideas'. I've not seen anyone mention the 3 other songs that are in Ever After High !! There's a second intro song (Power Princess Shining Bright), one for the later season's Wonderland arc (Do You Wonder), and one that's sung in an episode by one of the characters (Live Your Dream) ! The second two might have spoilers for later on but I'm not sure how far you'll watch the series so you might enjoy just reacting to them :-)

Fun fact #1: Cerise is canonically buff in the books Fun fact #2: In the books, it is told that Apple is obsessed to sticking to her story because of trauma. When she was younger she unecpectedly fell into a well and almost drowned. Because of that she is very scared of the unpredicatable and so she sticks to the safety of her story Fun fact #3: in the books Dexter is still pretty nerdy. But he can also fight like really well. Maybe even better than Daring. Fun fact #4: Dexter and Darling are twins :D Fun fact #5: Dexter, Darling and Daring all are uh...kinda depressed- Cause they need to uphold their family image, they can't show who they truly are as their family is hiding a secret. And showinf who they are might reveal it Fun fact #6: When she was yoinger and before her mom was imprisoned, Raven had a very rough childhood. She would constantly be followed by these shadow creatures which would immdiately alert her mom if she were to do something nice. And the evil queen will then punish Raven. One punishment? Turning her pet into a bone creature thing.... Fun fact #7: Cedar, daughter of pinochio, has alot of exinstential crisis... Cos in the books, Cedar couldn't physically feel things, she couldn't tast different foods etc so she constantly questioned why she was even alive. She also wants to follow in her father's foot steps cos she will turn into a real girl. But she also believes that people shouldn't have to follow their destinies. So cos of this, Cedar is constantly torn on what she should do. Sign the Storybook of legends? Or find another way? Fun fact #8: Apple was really self consious about her blonde hair in the books. This because of the whole Dumb-Blonde stereotype and cos her mother, snow white, has black hair The books were uh... alot more depressing....
I wanted to mention to you that the order from now is the movie Spring Unsprung and then Way too Wonderland which is the "finale", I won't spoil it but I do highly recommend watching them!
I have to say, the fact that the book turned out to be fake was brilliant. When I was young I didn't understand but now I see what they were trying to do: they were showing that signing the book was useless. Although, I wish that Milton's backstory was a little better. Maybe in the books there is more... idk I haven't read every book.
Definitely watch the previous episodes. The shorts start becoming more important to watch. They give more lore and introduce characters. The twins you seen in this special were introduced in the shorts you skipped and pretty important. As for the Evil Queen, she loved being evil so much she expanded past her story. She is an example of taking her destiny too far. And for the brothers, yeah I question why they are just fine with it and that never really gets addressed. XD
25:31 that’s the girl who’s on the intro screen at the end of the intro song for ever after high, she’s another narrator but youngest out of them while the other two are older and have more experience she’s only just learning how to be one or she’s also like daughter of the two narrators. She can’t be seen she’s just a voice like the Narrators but she’s watching over the characters because she cares about them. She comes more important in the next part of Ever After High where they go looking for the book again
Fun fact if you continue watching the series Daring Charming does have a character development where he meets Rosabella the daughter of Beauty and the Beast. She teaches him to look beyond the surface and really dig deep and he grows and learns from that
Btw Daring does actually have character development in (what I think is the last thing they released before it got cancelled) where there were ice pixies and Belles daughter reforms him (from the beauty and the beast). Idk maybe knowing he does get better at some point might make him easier to watch 🤷
I find it nice that Apple actually stood up to Headmaster Grim. Like yeah, she’s being hypocritical by telling him off for manipulating Raven but she hasn’t gone out of her way to force Raven into wanting to sign and is rather just trying to get her to see her POV through words.
I am so excited for the next arc which is one of my personal favourites, but so glad to watch your reaction now cause I was also furious they weren't throwing a mutiny on the headmaster

personally, how i see Royal and Rebel is like conservative and progressive white and black binaries basically Poppy being Roybel is being non-conforming bc well, there's always a gray area between the white and black.

For me it's not a philosophical dilemma. It's simple, idc if people's stories possibly go 'poof'. I am not enslaving myself to a horrible destiny for the sake of others. Their happy endings will not be at the expense of my life. Apple and Raven have different dilemmas. And Raven definitely carries the heavier baggage either way. So choosing herself is the bravest thing she can do. Same to the other rebels. Ash and Briar's frienship>> the reals ones in their grp. Also Briar's arc here is one of my favourites ever
And that's your philosophical position on the matter. While someone else might look at that same action as being the same as choosing mass murder, and another might see it not as enslavement, but as sacrificing your life to save others.

@dauclairdelune I mean, Even if it's because of Raven's "decision" I wouldn't say it's her fault either. Like i said, i don't find her responsible for other people's lives other than her own self. And i don't think the lesson here is for her to sacrifice herself and choose to suffer for other ppl either. Whatever consequence that might've occured from rebel's decisions to choose themselves is not their responsibility. Although technically i'd consider your not so very fun fact as more of a plothole that the producers didn't consider or even want to delve to tbh.

there’s a mini episode after this special which announces the winner of thronecoming queen (which at the time fans could actually vote for online) some mini episodes i recommend that we’re set before this special are: -poppy the roybel -O’hairs spilt ends -Lizzie hearts fairy tale first date -Lizzie shuffles the deck
But this is something I find interesting. Holly is the older of the two. And when they get introduced we’re told that since holly is older her younger sister doesn’t get a story. And her sister is given a chance to Create her own story, and hence she takes over the royal and rebel route. So this add something to the Lord, that the stories are inherited from oldest to youngest.
So that means no younger sibling has a story to follow. So, if the headmaster’s tale of if you don’t follow your story, you go poof is true then shouldn’t that mean the younger siblings should just die when they are born. Because they don’t have a story to follow.
Actually, it was revealed that they got mixed up at birth. Poppy is the older twin, but has no interest of being the next Rapunzel, so she let Holly fill that role.
Can we talk about how they just took the wand raven's mum left her as her gift which could have helped her control and better direct her powers but also how it never comes up again (not that I can remember) like what?!?!?!

Dude I'm telling you, EAH has some of the best writing and plot, and it's a freaking webshow for kids and is made to promote the doll line! Speaking of doll line, I hope you can at least see the pictures of the Thronecoming Queen candidates doll because they are immaculate especially that Cupid doll, definitely one of the best designed dolls in EAH!

Then there's Duchess who dies in her story, Ashlynn's stepsisters who (in the original story) got blinded and parts of their foot cut off, etc. Also the original Sleeping Beauty got r*ped in the story.
But yeah a lot of fairytales are dark in some way

They also say in the books that Ashlynn’s mother dying is part of her destiny. Meaning if she were to follow her destiny, she would eventually have to die for her child to take her place. But for Duchess she only gets turned into a swan forever, not killed.

I absolutely love Briar's arc. She is such a cool, likeable and interesting character. Definitely the most interesting take on a sleeping beauty character I have ever seen

Also the reason why Briar found the story book of legends is because the teacher told her that the Evil Queen and Little Red Riding use to room at there dorm back in the day when they were students and thats how she put the pieces together of why there is something glowing underneath her carpet

This arc was what made me love Briar even more. I love the story path they gave her. Rather than being the narcoleptic princess that Aurora, the Disney princess, is usually portrayed in other films, Ever After High spun the tale a bit. And I love it ❤❤❤

I think where Apple is at at this point is basically "I still want Raven to sign, but I understand now that it should be her choice, and while I still really hope she comes around to it, I want her to make that choice on her own rather than being manipulated into it."

I don't think it would've hit apple as hard if it was ravens story. Apple knows raven would need to poison her or do evil things and she didn't mind it. It wouldn't bother her to do that to someone else because she has the mindset that it's worth it.
Apple was closer to briar so it would feel more personal to her. Especially after telling briar "we all have our parts to play". By going into briars story she got to have that realization that she might lose everything. Even if it was just for that moment after pricking her finger and realizing what she did.
I don't think the "bad" side of Raven's story was there
It was only the moment after poisoning "Apple" so basically she would have just stood there and did nothing since the action was already done
choosing Briar's makes more sense since the action hasn't happened yet so she can actually feel what it's like to have no choice in your own story
I actually really liked it because a big part of this arc was the fact that some royals were seeing that they didn’t really want their ‘destinies’ (Briar). Like Briar said, Apple didn’t understand how she was feeling. Apple feeling that panic now, knowing she couldn’t do anything but also the realisation of ‘Oh, my friend saved me.’ Was hopefully the pushed she needed to be like ‘But what if she hadn’t been? I would’ve been stuck’- opening critical thinking for her. I also love that Briar, seeing Apple poisoned and probably the aftermath, helped her understand Raven and why Raven made the choice in the first place to not sign

Daring Charming isn't ALL bad. They show a bit more of his deeply buried inner goodness in a smaller episode featuring Lizzie Hearts, and he gets...slight character development in Epic Winter. Sadly the series got cancelled before they could deeply explore the aftermath of the twist in Dragon Games. So much potential character development we'll never get to see, SMH.
Honestly Daring does have his good points. He is vain and pompous but he also take his job of being a helpful, rescuing knight in shining armor very seriously. He's got a lot of potential to be a real hero, once he learns how to be humble.

It is a spoiler but you can only find this lore from the San Diego Comic Con Raven Queen Doll (yes, there is hidden lore that you can only find in exclusive dolls. Again, sorry about the spoilers but this is important):

Back when I was at Ever After High, everyone followed the whole "Follow your Destiny" nonsense. What's the line they always say? "There are no short stories or tall tales." But when you're a villain, people hate and fear you. So I stole the Storybook of Legends -the artifact that magically bound us to our destinies- and replaced it with a magical replica that had none of its true power. I wasn't going to just accept that I must live out the rest of my days alone and reviled.
But then something unexpected happened. I fell in love with Good King, and eventually you, my baby girl, came into my life. When I looked into your eyes, it was like my heart was looking back at me. This isn't in the show but Apple has had issues with deviating from her story in the past. It started because she was born blond and not with black hair so she was put under a bunch if pressure to conform. And more importantly the last time she tried to go against her story she almost died.
She also wears glasses, which no perfect princess should. You only get her backstory in the books, and it makes her an understandable character. Love the video tho
My personal theory is that the magic sustaining this fairy tale world has been trying to throw a wrench in the Destiny system for a while now. Dean Grimm acts as though the world would completely implode if even a single person deviated from their assigned path, but the thing is that while their society does in a way depend on the Destiny system, the world itself doesn't, and the magic powering it is frankly quite bored of revisiting the same tired old fairy tales over and over and over again. Why else would it make Apple blonde with "imperfect" eyesight? Why else would it give Raven both humility and a conscience? Why would it allow for Cerise and Ramona to exist? Why would it allow the O'Hair twin mix-up? I get the feeling it wants to shake things up.
9:29 by the laws of the ACTUAL Sleeping Beauty fairytale, everyone that wasn't within the castle was when the good fairies cast the spell so they would fall asleep with the princess... Everyone outside of the castle, aka the rest of the world, kept moving on without the people inside of the castle with the princess....
so yeah the rest of the world dies and keeps going, unless the entirety of the main characters in ever after high come together when Briar's curse is gonna come true.
And don't forget about all the briar roses that grew up around the castle. They killed any knight who tried to rescue Sleeping Beauty before the 100 years were up.

something that is in the books that is not shown in the show is that part of apple's motivation to sign for her story is that the one time her life deviated from its fated path she almost died, so i think that explains her character a bit more to me! i dont like her as much as the next person but i can understand all the royals pov, even if i disagree

YES ABSOLUTELY
No joke, I think Thronecoming was the best episode/special this show ever made. It dramatically changed the character and status quo but did so in an extremely organic way. Everything the characters do here feel like natural evolutions of their characters, characters which had been developed across the webisodes for years by that point.
Like Thronecoming took a one note party girl like Briar and have her *depth* and it wasn't out of nowhere, it feel like a totally understandable and natural evolution of her character born out of this world where one must either accept or reject their destiny.
Later EAH specials will dramatically change the status quo and do crazy things but none of them ever felt as organic as Thronecoming. That's because those later specials were clearly made to advertise a new line of dolls so they introduced a new concept/characters out of nowhere just to sell some toys. As a result, the later developments and status quo changes felt somewhat jarring, random, and sudden. But that's not what Thronecoming was, it was excellently built up to and didn't need a random gimmick like dragons or wonderland to be amazing. It was a special built entirely on substance and organic development and that's why it has the most satisfying and quality writing of the entire EAH franchise.
Ever After High is on Netflix as well, if you want the story line episodes and not the shorts❤

I thought this was a great story arc for briar and ever after high in general. It shows how even tho they were outwardly criticizing Raven for her actions, there are probably some royals who internally struggle with the reality of actually taking on their story but don't have the courage to deviate from it like Raven or other rebels would. Now with that said Briar throwing the book down the well was definitely petty LOL.
Can we appreciate that Daring’s dad is a literal King but has the time to do news reporting for Ever After High events?
Briar's arc was a big surprise the first time I watched it and it is a very good one. Also I was aware that Cupid appeared from nowhere in the hall but I still laugh when she appears. Really EAH has so much great characters like Raven, Briar, Madeline, Cedar, Ashlynn or Cerise. Can we talk about the fact that Cerise is like if Edward and Jacob merged ?

Briar was more true to why she didn't want to sign-because she would loose her friends. Apple wasn't really like fully heart there about her friends being the reason but because she didn't know how theirs stories played out. After she was in briars story she started understanding why her best friend felt how she felt. I think that pushed her to start understanding raven and her decision

Aww, I think poor Mathew's brain exploded at three times during this one! A scene where Daring isn't a pompous ass, a scene where Apple White supports Raven whole-heartedly, and a scene showing just how far Headmaster Grimm would go to keep everyone Lawful.
I don't think it's a spoiler to tell you that the two girls who got the magical hairbrushes are Holly and Poppy - the twin daughters of Rapunzel. (And man, kudos to the creators for acknowledging that dark part of the original Rapunzel story!)
I love Briar this arc really fleshed out her character and you rarely see that for back ground characters. Well onto the Wonderland arc🤗🤗

The headmaster being happy his brother was free and Jiles forgiving him always baffled me, he locked him up for a reason that he clearly still believes so wouldn't he be like 'no get back in the basement, you spread dangerous ideas'. I feel like a lot of plot points are glossed over or forgotten which is sad because they would've been so cool
I've not seen anyone mention the 3 other songs that are in Ever After High !! There's a second intro song (Power Princess Shining Bright), one for the later season's Wonderland arc (Do You Wonder), and one that's sung in an episode by one of the characters (Live Your Dream) ! The second two might have spoilers for later on but I'm not sure how far you'll watch the series so you might enjoy just reacting to them :-)

Fun fact #2: In the books, it is told that Apple is obsessed to sticking to her story because of trauma. When she was younger she unecpectedly fell into a well and almost drowned. Because of that she is very scared of the unpredicatable and so she sticks to the safety of her story
Fun fact #3: in the books Dexter is still pretty nerdy. But he can also fight like really well. Maybe even better than Daring.

Cos in the books, Cedar couldn't physically feel things, she couldn't tast different foods etc so she constantly questioned why she was even alive. She also wants to follow in her father's foot steps cos she will turn into a real girl. But she also believes that people shouldn't have to follow their destinies. So cos of this, Cedar is constantly torn on what she should do. Sign the Storybook of legends? Or find another way?
Fun fact #8: Apple was really self consious about her blonde hair in the books. This because of the whole Dumb-Blonde stereotype and cos her mother, snow white, has black hair

I have to say, the fact that the book turned out to be fake was brilliant. When I was young I didn't understand but now I see what they were trying to do: they were showing that signing the book was useless.
Although, I wish that Milton's backstory was a little better. Maybe in the books there is more... idk I haven't read every book.
Definitely watch the previous episodes. The shorts start becoming more important to watch. They give more lore and introduce characters. The twins you seen in this special were introduced in the shorts you skipped and pretty important. As for the Evil Queen, she loved being evil so much she expanded past her story. She is an example of taking her destiny too far. And for the brothers, yeah I question why they are just fine with it and that never really gets addressed. XD

25:31 that’s the girl who’s on the intro screen at the end of the intro song for ever after high, she’s another narrator but youngest out of them while the other two are older and have more experience she’s only just learning how to be one or she’s also like daughter of the two narrators. She can’t be seen she’s just a voice like the Narrators but she’s watching over the characters because she cares about them. She comes more important in the next part of Ever After High where they go looking for the book again

Btw Daring does actually have character development in (what I think is the last thing they released before it got cancelled) where there were ice pixies and Belles daughter reforms him (from the beauty and the beast). Idk maybe knowing he does get better at some point might make him easier to watch 🤷

For me it's not a philosophical dilemma. It's simple, idc if people's stories possibly go 'poof'. I am not enslaving myself to a horrible destiny for the sake of others. Their happy endings will not be at the expense of my life. Apple and Raven have different dilemmas. And Raven definitely carries the heavier baggage either way. So choosing herself is the bravest thing she can do. Same to the other rebels. Ash and Briar's frienship>> the reals ones in their grp. Also Briar's arc here is one of my favourites ever
And that's your philosophical position on the matter. While someone else might look at that same action as being the same as choosing mass murder, and another might see it not as enslavement, but as sacrificing your life to save others.

I mean, Even if it's because of Raven's "decision" I wouldn't say it's her fault either. Like i said, i don't find her responsible for other people's lives other than her own self. And i don't think the lesson here is for her to sacrifice herself and choose to suffer for other ppl either. Whatever consequence that might've occured from rebel's decisions to choose themselves is not their responsibility. Although technically i'd consider your not so very fun fact as more of a plothole that the producers didn't consider or even want to delve to tbh.

Well, self-sacrifice was definitely Raven's philosophical matter during this time. And that's exactly why someone so selfless and kind needs to choose herself for once.
Love the thronecomig reaction Mathew, but I hope you go back and react to those little episodes, especially because I suspect one of them introduces the O'hair twins (11:18 ) and their story is amazing, I think you would love it.

there’s a mini episode after this special which announces the winner of thronecoming queen (which at the time fans could actually vote for online) some mini episodes i recommend that we’re set before this special are:
-poppy the roybel
-O’hairs spilt ends
-Lizzie hearts fairy tale first date
-Lizzie shuffles the deck
The two characters that you didn’t know are named Poppy and Holly O’Hair twin daughter of Rapunzel
But this is something I find interesting.
Holly is the older of the two. And when they get introduced we’re told that since holly is older her younger sister doesn’t get a story.
And her sister is given a chance to
Create her own story, and hence she takes over the royal and rebel route.
So this add something to the Lord, that the stories are inherited from oldest to youngest.
So that means no younger sibling has a story to follow. So, if the headmaster’s tale of if you don’t follow your story, you go poof is true then shouldn’t that mean the younger siblings should just die when they are born. Because they don’t have a story to follow.
Actually, it was revealed that they got mixed up at birth. Poppy is the older twin, but has no interest of being the next Rapunzel, so she let Holly fill that role.

I know Daring is really full of hinself, but I promise when you get to the Epic Winter series he gets some really.good character development.
Daring does get a change and does bedome better than he is now. I mean he isn't like the most likable but he gets better.
honestly i kinda like him even before his arc. he is really stuck up and full of himself but he takes his hero role seriously and apologizes when he is wrong. plus hes grown up with people telling him he will get the best story (as they believe the most worthy charming gets the best story) which is why hes so focused on his looks and how great he is lol

Dude I'm telling you, EAH has some of the best writing and plot, and it's a freaking webshow for kids and is made to promote the doll line! Speaking of doll line, I hope you can at least see the pictures of the Thronecoming Queen candidates doll because they are immaculate especially that Cupid doll, definitely one of the best designed dolls in EAH!
