I started knitting as a little girl, am now 76, have been knitting all these years and you just taught me something basic and so important. You are wonderful! Thank you.
Not only are you guys teaching us how to knit the Norwegian way, you are also teaching us how to read your language. Very interesting 🧐 and always informative to learn how and why your country is not only beautiful but a knitters dream. Thanks so much.
Carlos, you look so sad. Have faith and believe that times will get better. As someone else said, as knitters we know how to pass time while protecting ourselves. You are both loved by many and your videos help to cheer us.
Hello Arne! Hello Carlos! Your hair looks fantastic and both of your smiles are warm and kind! Thank you for sharing this very helpful video o decrease stitches; especially for your hat patterns. Have a wonderful week 💞
Arne - Cannot tell you the impact you have had on my knitting. In this podcast you say 'use common sense' and that sometimes a simpler stitch looks just as well or better. It is *exactly* the habit of looking at your knitting and making incremental decision (even changes) that I've taken to heart from your teachings. Thank you. Knitting for 30+ years and really trying to improve each day. (Shauna in Seattle)
YEAH! I am so happy you are continuing these podcasts for the next two weeks. I look forward to spending time with you. I always feel better after our time together.
Loved the tutorial! We're in self isolation here in Colorado. It's still snowing up here in the mountains, but our ski resorts have closed. We all need new hats! Sending love, happy knitting, and good health your way! ❤️
Thank you so much.🧶 Now I can finish my grandsons caps that they drew ( ages 9 and 7) how they each wanted theirs to look. I also wat to follow your patterns for myself .
Good evening my sweet boys hope thing are well will you and are you in quarantine like most of the world. Your hats are so beautiful and the many ways you have shown us to decrease for the crown is excellent. You both look so well and Arne.... Wow... Your English is improving by the week. Loved your modelling of the hats. Thank you making my day special. Take care of each other stay warm stay and safe stay clear of the virus and lots of cuddles for Freja. Thinking of all the Arne and Carlos family around the world stay safe out there. God bless us all and protect us
Thank you, I wanted my next hat to decrease and look like a star so this video is perfect timing !! I hope you're finding ways to pass your time, looking forward to the daily podcasts we're going to get. Have a wonderful week !!
Fantastic video! Arne, I believe you demonstrated this technique on your Christmas ball video as well, but this demonstration on larger needles with bright orange and blue yarn made it very clear and easy to follow how to maintain a pattern while decreasing. Thank you! Can't wait for the knit along to start - something to look forward to while on "lockdown"!
We appreciate Arne's common sense and kind manner. Also, would you please consider making a video on how to knit a baby sweater? ....maybe for a 1 or 2 year old. :)
@@glauvie Hello! I have just 'knit up' Rowan's 'Snowberry' sweater and also a little vest, each from a blend of wool/acrylic/mohair [angora]. I am beginning another vest for our granddaughter who will be 1 year old next Mon. They live in Wisconsin and we are in Phoenix, AZ. :)
Goodness, the virus affected your cruises. And you are under quarantine! I do wish you a good 2 weeks in good health. Hugs and thanks for showing these lovely hats and giving tips.
Hi Arne and Carlos. How are ya'll doing? Love your hats. Going to your website to order patterns. Thank you. also, thank you for the tutorial for decreases.
Love the hats, thanks for showing an easy way to decrease. Really looks good. Love your tutorials. Happy skiing guys. The hats look good on you both. Till next time have a great week.
Hi Arne and Carlos, Thanks for the great patterns and instructions - I find the "Tordis" hat especially intriguing because of its beautiful crown. Greetings from Germany and stay safe!
Thank you for this video. It is always so nice and relaxing to listen to your voices. I'm just learning fair isle. I've done a few hats and I'm obsessed with all the new designs in hats.
To avoid twisting you can slip slip knit tbl both together but the slipping part do it knitwise, not purlwise, so it changes the orientation of stitches and when you knit tbl doesn't look twisted. Those hats beanies are beautiful!!
Happy Sunday kids❤my question is,,what type of yarn, size of yarn and needle size do you use?If only I could knit like Arne. The hats are all stunning..hugs from Milwaukee 🤗❤🧶
Hi Arne & Carlos! The few remaining people on the knitting tour are watching from our Bergen hotel lobby - they've tuned us in to RUclips in the public lounge!! Even the front desk staff want to watch. 😀
I learned the Norwegian way from Carlo and Arnie and badly broke my wrist a year and a half ago. Haven’t even attempted to knit or crochet since until last week. I figured I would have to relearn the Norwegian way, but no. I guess it’s like riding a bike. It is my favorite way to knit.
I have received a very large tote full of Lopi and Lite Lopi yarn in many colors. My first thought is a traditional sweater. I have never done color work. Is there anything else that would be nice to knit with this yarn?
I fell in love with the Tordis hat and purchased it from your shop. I saw your Facebook Post that you are going to do a knit a long on RUclips. Thank you so much!!! I am a teacher in Virginia Beach, Virginia and though school is closed, I must go to the school all day. Will the knit a long be posted so anyone can view it at any time? I really want to participate. I love being part of the Arne and Carlos family.
Hello! I love the Tordis hat pattern and I love the colours and would like to use the same ones. However I can't seem to find which colours were used. If anyone knows the names and could help me out, it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance :)
I enjoy making hats and have for many years! Your patterns are lovely! I enjoyed seeing all of your beautiful patterned hats. :) Sharon from California
Arne, I love hearing you speak but I was wondering if there is any way you could have the terms in print when you are saying things like (k2tog) or (slip?) I didn't understand.
Hi Good Fellows, Earlier I mentioned that I have your pattern “EIR-Hat with Fish Bone”. The yarn 🧶 arrived yesterday and excited to get started. i need help with `the chart. I can read charts but need help help getting started. Most institutions give written notes and I need that. Could you write the 1st and 2nd rows ? This is a big favor to ask. Enjoying your quarantine podcasts. Thanks and stay well
I’m knitting a 2x2 in the round knit blocks 2black 2white do you have any thoughts on how to decrease while keeping pattern? Thanks in advance if you can help. I love all your videos. You’ve taught me so much .
thx for video! however how do you decrease when you are still working the colorwork and you have 2 pattern stitches or more in the row and you don't want the pattern skewed or crooked? Cuz in your video you had the main color and the pattern color side by side. I now figure out how many maximum rows of pattern I can have before I start the decrease with the background color so it doesn't interfere with the pattern.Thank you for a answer.
There is definitely a difference between 2kbl and the slip knit slip over.. 2kbl is tighter and more aesthetic IMO but then, depends on the needs of the pattern. Thank you for this video
Very clear and concise explanations - thank you! However - I am eager for another chat video that is longer where you talk about anything and everything.

Best way to spend a quarantine! Or a “knitsolation” isolation time! You two always make me smile!

We appreciate Arne's common sense and kind manner. Also, would you please consider making a video on how to knit a baby sweater? ....maybe for a 1 or 2 year old. :)
I second this! I have baby sweaters on my mind too. Several gifts I wish to make while isolated in Michigan.

Hi Arne & Carlos! The few remaining people on the knitting tour are watching from our Bergen hotel lobby - they've tuned us in to RUclips in the public lounge!! Even the front desk staff want to watch. 😀
What kind of yarn did you use for those hats? They look so soft and cozy

Hi ArneCarlos
Those hats are so expertly made. Have you ever thought of putting a label in them to prove you knitted them?

Do u think starting a hat with a pi circle would work ?
I have received a very large tote full of Lopi and Lite Lopi yarn in many colors. My first thought is a traditional sweater. I have never done color work. Is there anything else that would be nice to knit with this yarn?
Great ideas, thank you, keep up the good work
