Me, years later, stopping to think “why four minutes?”, only to then remember how 4 is the death number in Japan and feel stupid for not realizing this until now.
The idea of a an Alternate Shu Takumi who writes about divirces instead of murders just is amazing to me.

Tbh Cabenela never struck me as too creepy... He struck me as being Lynne's father figure (either foster or Uncle since I don't see him being her biological father) and the way he talks about her is less the creepy Baby talk, but overprotective father kinda baby talk.
He's just a disco dude, he's called everyone Baby. Like Space Dandy, but less Space. More Ghost.

@@Powder-Point You are correct and make an incredibly solid argument, but it's admittedly a little weird how much effort you put into disproving Cabanela as a creep.
Its... wild, the foreshadowing. The little bits that are missable but make so much sense at the end. "For some reason, I don't feel like I had a schedule", "wild, I can't read, must of forgotten".

Right? I think I know what the twist is by now, but that's only because I was told there was a big twist coming. I doubt I would've caught on in a blind playthrough.

Honestly seeing how female characters get treated in male-dominated fields such as police department in Asian dramas I've watched, I'd say the way his male colleagues treat Lynne is rather accurate.
I remember recently watching this K-drama about detectives going after cold cases and there was a lot of focus on how male members treated the only woman in their station, especially when she joined the team. (Please watch Signal, it's good & actually calls out corrupt police and politics)

I think Lynne is just particularly popular because Memry get none of if this type of attention even tho she's throwing herself at all the guys

I really like Arim in slightly aggravated Sissel.
I was today years old when I realized during this video that this game is based on the joke: "Why did the chicken cross the road? -- To get to the other side." So many chicken themes they hit you over the head with. But also the joke was not about an actual road but about passing away. Going to the other side~ Which is what the whole game play is based on. Idk on whether to feel super smart or super dumb.

I feel like they should play 9 hours, 9 persons, 9 doors
its not as comedic though but still a neat game that could use voices
it got voices in the Nonary Games remaster, and the dub is really good
honestly it's a game that would benefit a ton from the gang's sense of humor. I'm a huge wimp, so the tension was getting to me, so to help me relax and get into it my brother started throwing in bits about stupid random stuff and it ELEVATED the experience.
Dumb stuff like, starting during the first room of 999 (the ship cabin), Junpei's objective was ONLY to find a drink of water. But he couldn't just scoop it with his hands, or drink from a wine glass/anything not SPECIFICALLY labelled a "water glass" because that would be BARBARIC. Also, upon facing a locked door or gate, his first attempt to open it was just flailing his entire torso against it.
tl;dr, more serious games like 999 are somehow made way, WAY funnier by adding quips and i support this 100% especially to break the tension for suspense-babies like me
For anyone else confused about how the tornado headed girl can 'sense' a ghost, it's because she can't, she wasn't detecting you, she was detecting the spy microphone attached to the chicken, something a lot easier to detect with things like feedback and an odd bump on the chicken bone.
It's actually both! She can likely sense the spy bug but she ALSO can sense Sissel, it gets brought up again in later chapter where these two show up again (not spoiling more of it, but at that moment there isn't anyone else she would be refering to but Sissel - and it's made very clear).
I assume it's supposed to be not only a plot tool to indimidate the player/not spoil their deal entirely but also be a "joke" about "woman's intuition" as Japanese media tends to have stuff like that here and there, with female characters being able to do/figure out something others can't.
@@shincci Yeah I figured that out later during another playthrough I was watching. It just felt off to me when jello said she was given no explanation for how she can sense you. It kinda is given an explanation though, she was kinda picked for this job because of it, as she's probably one of the only people with that skill.

@@Powder-Point I wasn't saying anything about a romantic relationship, I was saying that there's already enough corruption in law enforcement without making detectives out of people that can't solve crimes.
What is so "extremely messed up" about standard nepotism ?
I understand skipping the prison break, but I do hope Jello doesn't just cut his losses and skip the chapter that happens before that. It's not an exceptional puzzle or anything but I like the conversations between Sissel and Jowd in chapter 8. But yeah, chapter 9 is super annoying if you don't know exactly what you're doing

Huh, not sure if it's a new youtube thing, or it only occurs in stream vods so I haven't seen it before, but I noticed that every time I get an ad while watching this the video doesn't stop and I have to rewind when the ad stops playing because I've missed the past (insert time the ad takes because it's different every time) seconds of the vod.
The "Prisoner 𝕯 𝓝𝓲𝓷𝓮𝓽𝔂𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓮" bit gets me every time.
The prison level wasn’t THAT bad, damn 😂. Once you understand what’s happening it’s just frustrating getting him around without being seen, but even then not that difficult. Oh well, at least nothing too important lore wise occurs during then

okay surely according to the plot in the chicken death scenario you can just talk to Lynne and tell her a van is about to fly through the wall. Or does it not count if she's spectating there with you.
Yeahh, you can't talk to people in the "flashback" segments, probably for that exact reason.
How exactly does the time travel thing work? Like if someone died at 1:00 and he waited a full hour before time travelling to save them, once the 4 minutes were up would he continue on in that same timeline at 1:04 or would he be sent forwards to 2:00 where he was before he went back? Or would he go to 2:04 to make up for the time he spent fixing things?
if someone dies at 1:00, they would time travel back to 12:56. if he traveled back at 2:00, you'd still go back to 12:56. afterwards you'd be back at 1:00
@@CallMeDoc_ So when he saves someone he continues from where they would have died, he does not go forwards(back) to where he was before time travelling, got it
@@CallMeDoc_ I think that's wrong, he would return to 2:00 afterwards. It's clearer in some later time travels, but to tie it to the one in the video, the detective had time to arrive at the chicken kitchen and have a talk with Lynn before Sissle comes back.
The game does establish that after fate is averted, time plays out as normal for the person saved, but the ghost goes back to the time they initially found the body. This is why people usually aren't in the same spots after returning to the present, and why Lynn starts actively waiting around for Sissel after he saves her life from the second time onwards.
Can't wait to see more of this!
