I was blessed to see BIRD play 85 times as a kid from my Dads courside seats. Thanks Dad. I've seen KD about 13 (on all his teams😢) The FACT is, their is NO comparison. BIRD, at his peak was much better. Has KD won 3 straight MVP”s (could be argued he should have one 4) becouse he was embaressing the league. He also finished second 7 straight years and won Rookie of the year over none other then MAGIC!
Let's also add in that BIRD has a higher IQ and is infinitely a better passer then KD. He is also a better defender and rebounder. He's better at 50/50 balls which stats, & experts never talk about. & how about intangibles, like demanding teammates keep their head up, or they would have gotten hit in the face with a pass.
Or, the 3 - 3 point contest wins in a row, without even practicing the 3 ball until the competition. & Gilbert Arenas, can u imagine if Magic were not in the league when BIRD was at his most prolific? We could be talking about 6 or 7 rings.
Please say it for what it is. It's a jealous person, who is ignorant not only about BB but life in general - as Agent 0 (fitting name) cut his own career short by his stupid decision’s. Lastly, does anyone really think, the EMO poster boy KD is, could handle any of the BIRD trash talk?

    1. Bird was just as good a shooter as Durant and brought in more rebounds and assists. He was a more complete player by far.
    2. Bird has more championships and did so legitimately, with no player on his team that was arguably as good as him.
    3. Bird wasn't a toxic personality.
Bird is arguably a top 5 player. I personally wonder if he's super underrated these days, and possibly the 2nd best.

Spurs win in 2014 was so gratifying...Heat barely won a year earlier...same final in 2014 and to say it was an absolute destruction by an aging Spurs core would be an understatement...
That right there made Bron toast...he lost not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, but 6 of'em total, and excuses just keep piling up

Never emulating KD nor Bron. Kids here in basketball crazy Philippines Idolize Curry not any other. That says it. Curry and GOAT MJ, and other greats like Kobe, Bird, and Magic are INSPIRING.

I cannot for the life of me understand how people go on about discussing "dominant teams" of old when KD's whole thing was stacking his team and switching when it didn't work out! It's almost as if a team becomes dominant by accepting the cards, pushing through white the cards you're delt and WORKING TOGETHER. If Boston was dominant and Bird got the MVP that means HE was a dominant player!

Thank you for this video. The disrespect shown to Bird is sad. To discount the entire decade of the 80's because the league was full of "crack heads" = LOL. Bird led the league in defensive win shares 4 times and was 7 times in the top 5 in DWS. Bird in 1983 finished tied for 3rd place for the DPOY award. Bird was on 3 all defense teams (2nd team). Bird went to a 29 win team and was the main reason Boston won 61 games. Bird won ROY over Magic and was 4th in MVP. Then in the next 8 seasons ( before the heel surgeries and back issues) in the MVP was 2,2,2,1,1,1,3, and 2nd again. Durant has never had that dominant of a run. Look at Birds rebounding and passing. Bird is a more complete player.

In 20 years people will remember KD as much as they remember Drexler now. Won a chip with Hakeem, and KD will be - won two by joining Steph.
Not even top 25 for KD unless he wins a few more at the tail end of his career, while Bird is definitively top 10, perhaps 5, but that depends on criteria as his career was the shortest compared to other GOAT candidates. Still while it was short due to back injury, it was spectacular.
KD has a long and sad career, full of failure except for the period when he joined a winning team + the hubris that he thought he could do it alone.

Bird and Magic saved the NBA. The clowns in the media and kids on social media have no clue. Bird has more rings, and averagrd more assists, more rebounds, more steals, and was a better defender, especially because the NBA now plays these weak zone defenses with wide open shots, no hussle to get back on D, and no tight, full court, man to man defenses played anymore, except maybe when the game is close.
If they rated defense, most modern NBA defenses would an F rating. Practically no one respects the shot anymore and it's sad. People walk in and shoot uncontested layups on a regular basis, when in the 70s, 80s, and early 90s, people would have been obliterated for even trying to come into the paint.
The modern NBA is a combination of all of the worst parts of basketball: inflated stats, little to no defense, frequent rule violations, constant flopping, atrocious refereeing, blatant bias towards chosen players *cough* Lebron *cough* , constant lies and baseless opinions pushed in the media and on social media and falsely claimed to be factual, massive egos with few accolades, and zero respect for and knowledge of basketball history.
It's honestly hard to even call the NBA basketball anymore.

Bird was better at rebounding, passing, leading the team, defense, had higher basketball IQ. The only things that KD does better is finishing and maybe shooting. Bird was the engine for the Celtics, KD joined a 73-win team.
Bird has 2 more MVPs and 1 more ring. Before Bird was drafted, Boston's last title was 5 seasons ago. After he retired, Boston's next title is 22 years later. Before KD joined, Golden State was the champion 1 season ago and won another title 3 years after he left.

I would say beyond a shadow of a doubt that LARRY LEGEND is the better player. What I think gets really overlooked about Larry is the fact that he was an ALL WORLD playmaker, his court vision was next level. And, he was a phenomenal rebounder for a man who couldn't jump over a sheet of paper. And, I believe that if he played in this "LET ME BE THE THREE" era he would have the all time 3 point record and not Steph. Larry would feast in this era.
That said, if KD had the teams that Larry had in his career he would have about 4 championships right now...MINIMUM. You saw what he did with the Warriors and those Larry Bird Boston teams were as dominant as the Warriors in their time...only rivaled by the Lakers. KD is great but the DIFFERENCE is that Bird was a LEADER and KD is a phenomenal #2, he needs someone to lead...BIRD WASN'T BUILT LIKE THAT...HE WAS THE LEADER. Skillwise both are phenomenal elite all time legendary players but Bird had that little EXTRA that separates the two. Carry On...

KD would have been broken in half if he played in the 80s/90s. The league changed the rules repeatedly to make this league soft as charmin, inflating league average scoring by 30%. Remember that number when you compare stats. bird would have averaged 40+, 15assists, 20 rebounds. KD aint even top 20.

I will never understand why people takes Gilbert Arenas seriously. I keep saying that unless you watched basketball in the 80's it makes no sense trying to engage with people who never saw Bird play because they just don't know so it's a lost cause. Bird made his teammates better and i will argue that he was by far the most feared clutch performer of his era and it's not even close. To the content creator of this channel i like and appreciate your content as it is always very well articulated and you always present facts to highlight your points, but i think you should refrain from responding to every piece of nonsense that presents itself as your brilliance only gives them relevance, great job as always though.
