- This is our story of the 2018 Mille Miglia, driving with an iconic Mercedes 300SL Gullwing and joined by my AMG GT R support car. We travel 1,000 miles from Brescia to Rome and back on 'The Most Beautiful Race in the World', with trials and tribulations along the way leading to our successful final ranking, 95th out of 450 entrants.
I joined the Mercedes-Benz team, driving in a 1955 300SL Gullwing from the Mercedes-Benz Museum; a truly special vehicle with a huge history - particularly celebrating 1955, the year of Sir Stirling Moss' famous victory in the original event. Co-driving with me is Marc 'Shmarc150' (manager of Shmee150), and we're joined by BenzeneBen and SebastianTPhotography on board the AMG GT R to support us and create this aftermovie of the entire experience.
Getting underway in Brescia, it's clear that this is going to be an endurance event of the highest order; with 15 hour driving days and regularity tests along the way to create competition. With no prior experience within our team, it is all a learning game as we progress South through Italy towards Rome to reach the mid-way point.
With the most fantastic team behind our entry, supported by Mercedes-Benz Classic, the car was hugely well maintained by a team of mechanics working into the night, along with some fabulous organisation to run a smooth ship. It is clear that this has been one of the most fantastic events I have ever experienced, and as we returned to Brescia via Milan, the Alfa Romeo Museum and a lap of the Monza Formula 1 circuit, the icing on the cake was well and truly added.
A huge personal thanks goes to those on the team who made this possible, I don't think I could ever repeat such an opportunity and I shall never forget it.

First of all WOW that was incredibly entertaining and I quite frankly didn't want it to end!
Second, BEN BEN BEN you outdid yourself with this one my good man! With the number of cameras and amount of footage, this edit HAD TO BE a labour of love to get through and look this amazing...so my hats off to you fine sir!
Third, Tim I've said it before and I'll say it again....you are in a different league! You bring an emotion and excitement to your videos that is palpable. Yes the haters will tell me that I should get off my knees, but I just think that we hear so much negativity in this world, that you should give the positive when it's warranted...and it is warranted for you Shmee!
Poor Shmarc was completely "DONE" at the end there, and although I know you were as well Tim, you also had that 2nd, 3rd, or was it 4th wind that gave you a boost of adrenaline at the finish line. I've never seen you so calm, soft, and tired as you were in you're outro.

By far the best 43 minutes of pure fanfare and unadulterated experience you could ever ask for. Definitely a catchy and unique way to start the video. True car enthusiasts go that extra mile to dibble and explore other aspects of the industry to stand out from the rest of the pack. The amount of time, work and prep gone into making this video is beyond words. Wish you could do more of these adventures again for years to come.

These past months you have been rocking the boat, stepping up to a whooooole other level...Your work ethics, hard work, focus, planning, effort, passion for what you do, filters through your work loud and clear. 43 mins of pure magic and briliiance from the whole team. This is the most epic thing on youtube right now. Never experienced MIle MIglia like this before. The 300sl is such a beauty and dream to drive that too for 1000 miles is ...god I am lost for words Tim !!! And wow the Italians such passion. Probably doing it in a 250 GTO would the perfect thing ever. Once again what a epic video. Mr JWW did a great job but you just eclipsed them all. WOW !!!

This video is simply incredible. Amazing editing and a great look behind the scenes of such an event and this is one of the few videos on RUclips I have watched that are over 30 minutes long. I can barely imagine how it would be to drive this icon, one of my absolute dream cars. I am glad that this is at least possible for you!

The Mercedes 300SL Gullwing (as well as the convertible version) and the Porsche 550 Spyder have to be the most beautiful, and incredible classic cars ever made. Of course there are more amazingly beautiful and inspiring classic cars to name but those are my two personal favorites that automatically come to mind. What an opportunity to drive that, Tim!

Brilliant!!! You really captured the spirit of the Mille Migila, the music, the editing were perfect. I loved the short graphics, things which would of taken a while to make, but really added to the video. I don't usually comment, but felt compelled to this time. I waited until i could watch it in one sitting, glad i did, hopefully others are too as this deserves more than the 60k views it currently has.
