Forty Eight

This is John Renbourn's 'Forty Eight' from the 1968 'SirJohnALot' album. It featured at this year's workshop so here's a video for the guys who asked for it. (Well, you asked for it!).
We were lucky enough to have the John Renbourn original Gibson J50 at our 2024 Renbourn workshop. The guitar which John played on those amazing albums and tours in the late 1960s. John entrusted it to our mtual friend Rémy Froissart, and Rémy graciously lent it to us for the workshop. So we picked a few tunes written and recorded on this amazing old guitar this year, and fortunately it seems to have remembered them so I have recorded them while they're still fresh in my mind.
