    The Roland TD-07KV is a great little beginner level electronic drum kit. But you can actually elevate it onto a much more advanced playing experience level by applying some useful, additional pad upgrades (which we did)!
    Please check out these three TD-07 drum-tec edition kit configurations shown in the video:
    1. drum-tec FULL CYMBALS edition: comes with an additional Roland CY-12C crash & cymbal arm
    2. drum-tec ROCK edition: comes with additional PDX-100 snare pad & tom holder, so you can use the PDX-8 as a 4th tom pad
    3. drum-tec REAL HIHAT edition: comes with an additional VH-10 hihat controller, you can use the CY-5 pad as your second crash
    All three kits are available from www.drum-tec.com
    Please feel free to comment or ask any question you might have! You can also get in touch with our service team directly through service@drum-tec.de

    How do I add an additional cymbal.. all the cables that came with the original set are plugged into the already existing pads/cymbals.. Or is the "real hi-hat" that I have taking two plugs maybe?
    My only option then of having a third cymbals would be to upgrade the brain..?

      Hey Steve, unfortunately the TD-07 module doesn't offer the possibility to load/save custom kits as far as I know. It doesn't have a USB port for a stick, only the USB to connect with the computer.
      I have actually been giving lessons for many years here in Germany (not online though). Basically it's a matter of time, I am really busy with studio / video / drum-tec work most of the time, which is great but doesn't leave a lot of time for teaching. Maybe in the future, one newly developing video/media branch will also include some lesson videos, who knows? :) Kind regards!

      Hi, thank you very much! Have you tried playing with the trigger settings a bit? In my opinion all Roland modules trigger super accurately, so there should be no "lost" info, especially on the snare pad. Maybe try to tighten the mesh a bit as well, if it's not tight enough you might lose some accuracy possibly. Generally speaking the TD-17 should not trigger worse than it's smaller TD-07 brother, I guess they are very similar in a lot of ways. Kind regards!

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  Год назад

      Yes, the module has a 2nd crash input. I probably wouldn't swap the CY-5 hihat pad for a CY-8, the CY-5 has a special fixed mount so it feels more sturdy as a hihat pad, which the CY-8 doesn't have. I'd rather use a VH-10 and really have an upgrade in diameter, playing feel & realism at the same time. Kind regards!

The module has more features like bluetooth and to modify the sounds, import your own samples (have you heard the Drum-Tec upgrades for the 17? They are fire). I don’t think overall the 07 is a good bang for your buck. You’re basically getting a re-issued Td11 with no cool upgrades (maybe some better module sounds subjectively).
