The Soup Nazi was based on an actual owner of a popular take-out soup store in NYC, Al Yeganeh. He was known to be a bit prickly and eccentric, but his soup was awesome. He said he hated Seinfeld because after this episode, the popularity of his business skyrocketed beyond what he could handle.
@@cainealexander-mccord2805Yeah he really can't blame seinfeld for his businesses failures. he really was doing well for himself after the show. His business was expanded and he was able to franchise out etc. The business failed because his CFO was indicted for tax evasion cause the company failed to pay taxes for seven years straight.
I also heard that Jerry Seinfeld did go to the actual soup nazi awhile after the show had aired. The guy had to make sure it was the real Jerry Seinfeld because there were a lot of impersonators. He yelled and cursed at him. Check out the making of this episode.
I never caught it in this episode, but he says he moved there in the finale as well, and I caught it then. Never understood the reference, though, until it was explained to me years later.
The Argentina bit pops up in the weirdest places. In an episode of Frasier, Niles’ South American housekeeper surprises everyone by knowing German, saying she once worked for a German family in Argentina. On the Simpsons, Bart randomly calls international phone numbers and gets Adolph Hitler missing the call.

Growing up in mid town Manhattan, there was a late night sandwich maker at the only store open after midnight. He was known as the hateful Haitian. "Oh, you want Emmental with that too? Well, how much is it worth to you? And mustard, oh, French mustard" he'd sneer and mutter something in French. Good times.
I'm surprised you guys skipped on "The Note" (S3E1) Episode, especially with Kacee's favorite character being George. It's a classic George episode where he gets a massage by a man. This is one of the episodes where I laughed the most.
Showing affection isn't a reason to get someone arrested. But If i was sitting atva restaurant and i had to endure that for more than 5 minutes i would be like, oh Please, get a room already!

Several years after this I was working in a coffee shop. A customer ordered the soup and I had to tell her we were out of it. She immediately shouts "No soup for you!". And we both had a good laugh.
What a show! The writers were amazing. It’s so telling that even though Kramer is the obviously funniest everyone relates to George. Because George is us! Nobody normal Could be Kramer. Elaine and Jerry are just too normal. But George. The insecurity. The losing. He is us.
The second storyline of the "bully street thug gay guys" is so underrated. They love a beautiful armoire and heist it. Only Seinfeld took stereotypes like that and turned them sideways.

Classic episode. Also timeless! Another great one is the Fusilli Jerry. It has a couple of callbacks in it, though. Good to have watched the Doorman first (which is an outstanding episode as well). The pageant is really good, too, and sets up who Mr. Pitt is. The gymnast is also a must see. I’d go pageant, gymnast, then Doorman (“Bro/manzier” episode), then Fusilli Jerry (“assman” episode). And then the marble rye is an Absolute must as well. Great to see you guys enjoying this classic show!
There are lots of places in NYC that are strict about the ordering process, even if it’s your first time eating there. I’ve never seen a restaurant in Texas do that.
The actor playing the soup nazi shows up in various minor roles in TV and movies, now when you watch those you'll never be able to unsee this character.
Great episode of course (and reaction). I think my favorite part of it is the George story, especially the scene with the kissing. I find it absolutely hilarious.
Soup Nazi has to be in the top 5 for every diehard Seinfeld fan. You two should react to the "man hands" episode (Bizarro Jerry S8 E5) in the near future. Keep up the great work, love the videos! 😃

The restaurant was known for its strict rules amongst its customers. He was not as bad as the character played by Larry David.
