    THANK you for metric measurements. I stopped watching a lot of different kinds of tutorials because they never bothered to remember that the rest of the world uses metrics. :)

    Stephanie is by far my favourite American (Canadian?) baker. Such tasty recipes, explained clearly with a genuinely friendly demeanour. That she gives everything in metric too with Commonwealth English terms too is much appreciated, especially to her fans here in the U.K.

    Thank you so much for this recipe. I don't bake very often, but if I want to bake something special this is what I make and it always is so enjoyed by everyone. Because I don't bake often, I have not yet written this full recipe down. It would probably be best if I wrote it down, but so far if I need a reminder, I watch your video. These lemon bars are so yummy!!!! They are always a hit. Thank you for this video.

    As always Stephanie; you have given me such joy. I really look to your tutorials for help with any kind of baking or cooking. Lemon bars are one of my families favorites as we have a fruitful lemon tree to gather plenty of lemons. This has become one of my favorite recipes to use.

    Going to try this one today. One tool you really ought to have for squeezing lemons and limes, though, is a lemon squeezer. It's an essential! We make a lot of sauces for Mexican dishes at our home, and you can't believe how easy it makes your life. For the job of squeezing a cup of lemon juice, it will definitely save you a ton of time. Cut the lemon in half, place cut side down, squeeze the handles, and done. And no seeds getting through. (For an example, search Cucisina Lemon Squeezer on Amazon. I don't know that brand but just want to point your viewers in the right direction as to what tool I'm talking about.) Thanks for what I'm sure will be another great bake, Stephanie!

    What a beautiful recipe to use my Meyer lemon harvests in! I grow organically & they’re the size of oranges! Great sweet lemon flavor too. Wish I could send you some of my next late summer harvest Stephanie! It’s a great recipe for those of us who have lotsa lemons to use up. This is also a great way to enjoy summer flavor all year! Sometimes the simplest recipes are the ones that always “hit the spot”. Thanks again for another great recipe! Have a lovely day!

    Every time I bake anything with fresh lemon for my friends, they love it so much that it disappears real fast. I made lemon bars for a Bake sale, it was the first to sell out. The blueberry cupcakes went after that, we added lemon zest to those as well. Love your recipes!!! Good choice of mixing bowls too.

    Hi Stephanie, I love watching your baking videos because you take the trouble to mention the detailed measurement of the recipes and the temperature both in Farenheit n Celsius. It is so precised and easy to follow unlike many other baking or cooking channels that waste a lot of our time guessing the different types of measurement or going into this link and that link. Even the description of your methods are so precised. I usually do not bother to watch videos that are unwilling to just spend a little time to provide clear information for viewers. They do not deserve our time to watch. Cheers to all your wonderful videos.

      Self rising flour seems to be very commen here, would it make a difference compared to regular flour?
      Also in reciped using confectioners sugar, would it make a big difference using crystallized sugar? Or just a matter of texture?

    I have an almost identical recipe that I've been making for decades. Her demo is great because you see how making and baking the crust works. I do it with the food processor just as she did. If you have one, it's really the best way. Once the crust is in the oven I actually then also use the food processor to make the filling which works great as well! Do make them they are fantastic. I bring them to work quite often and have given the recipe countless times. Everyone loves them.

      @@stormygayle9388 Two lemon trees... I'm jealous lol Do they grow year round or seasonal? I'd be freezing all the juice I could if seasonal. I use it in so many recipes. Lemons also work with salt for scrubbing cutting boards and pots and pans. The rinds after juicing can be boiled to get rid of cooking odors. You can make your own Limoncello and lemon extract. So many uses. You're very lucky indeed. :o)

    I made these today, they are so tasty and have the wow factor. I left them in a bit too long so had to cut the sides off but I am so pleased with how they came out. I also ran out of lemons (used 4) but used some lemon juice from a bottle too. The shortbread at the bottom is amazing, lovely recipe and can't wait for my family to taste the this evening. Thank you also for the tip about not putting the icing sugar on too soon, I will add that just before I serve them. Thank you for sharing this lovely recipe.

    Hi Stephanie your recipes are amazing and you explain everything so clearly , As I was writing down the recipes for brownies and lemon bars The cup to gram measures are all over the place I am so glad I spotted this in time . In Ireland and the U.K. we measure out our ingredients using kitchen scales which is the most accurate way to do it. So I preferred to go by your grams measurements rather than cup measures because In the US when bakers use cups to measure flour I notice most dig the cup down into the flour to fill it then and level off which makes a big difference in the quantities .

    • @joyofbaking
      @joyofbaking  6 лет назад +1

      The conversion from cups to grams is different for every ingredient due different densities. 1 cup of flour will weigh a different amount in grams than 1 cup of flour just like 1 cup of feathers will weigh much less in grams than 1 cup of rocks. That’s why the conversions are correct and all over the place. Also all of my recipes are developed in grams and converted to cups so there is no error as far as you would be concerned due to how you fill the cup.
